It was just so depressing and cynical. So many characters die and everyone just brushes it off. The whole movie feels mean spirited. Like they were purposefully trying to kill the franchise.

Hey Matty don't give up your journey man. Severance season 2 is about to kick off. Severance is obviously based off the concepts of Fallout vaults - up to and including the Red Rocket location featured in the TV show and some classic 50s music from the games. Lumen is pre-war Vault Tec experiments, and don't just take it from me it's one of the highest rated TV shows ever for obvious reasons virtually everywhere you look into it. Watch it if you loved the Fallout show and wonder what a pre-war Vault Tec would be like, insane and mind bending experiments, dark humor and retro future tech obviously included.

The movie Heat is GTA V, and I know Heat came first but damn

Hey guys I know the channel is over so you probably won't see this, but I do want to let you know that I did feel like this channel was sort of a safe haven for me when it came to movies. I Come From the Star Wars fandom so I know exactly what toxicity is and it was really nice to find a channel that was just most of the time positive and even when there was negative you could find positivity in it. I have treasured watching you do this rare thing that I don't know if anybody else could have done because of your specific situation, and it's brought me such joy to hear what it's like for an adult today to watch some of my favorite movies of the past. And if you do read this, I have one request. Not for a video or anything, but I really would love it if you would someday watch the Dune movies. I really think that you would love them so much because Dune the book inspired so many Sci-Fi movies and books and shows including Star Wars and even inspired The Game of Thrones book it's just so important when it comes to Syfy that everybody should see it

Why wouldn't the Xenomorph catch her? It doesn't want her to die, it wants to tie her up for the face hugger. It had multiple chances to kill the pregnant girl too, but it didn't. It took her to the hive so the face huggers could get her. It killed the boyfriend dude because he had a rifle and was threatening to shoot and the other guy died by damaging an alien with the shock gun. So they will kill you, but they'd much rather take you to the hive. As for why this story and these characters were never mentioned in the other alien films, it's a huge galaxy and we've only ever followed Ripley in the films that take place after this. So if Ripley never gets that information, we never get that information, and the company has no reason to ever tell her about Romulus or any other post Romulus alien activity. Hell, the company doesn't even tell the company about Xenomorphs at all. Much like how only a handful of people in our government know about NHI while the rest of the government knows nothing or only gets leaked information, Wayland-Yutani is the same way. Only a select few know. The bureaucrats Ripley gets drilled by in the 2nd film have no knowledge of Xenomorphs or if they do, they keep it secret. The only ones who know are the ones that need to know.

Man episode 3 was such a damn era for me and my friends when i was 7 year's old. Me and my good friend were obsessed with it back in the day. Unfortunately he passed away and I always think about the countless hours on battlefront 2 or playing with our rots action figures when i go back to episode 3.

This is the absolute best scenario for a last episode. A movie that id say is in my top 3 of all time, and one that i hold very dear to my heart. I can't tell you how awesome it is to hear how much you love this movie. Absolute awesome video. Sad to see the channel go, but if you can grant me one wish. Please watch the dune movies. Please. It is where most scifi properties were inspired, especially Star Wars. I can tmsee as i watch, the dna of star wars, star trek, and even game of thrones. Its sublime, and you have to see it.

I will miss this channel. I enjoyed seeing your takes on classic movies, you coming in as a newcomer to cinema. I'm glad you got to see some classics, (Godfather being a favorite of mine), and I hope you continue to explore your newfound love of cinema.

This does make me sad but I definitely understand it. I just wish that you would have gotten to the Dune movies before this happened because it's kind of what Star Wars had a lot of inspiration from what everything basically had inspiration from in sci-fi and even some fantasy as well and it would have been amazing for you to see those movies and just kind of be able to see all the pieces that Star Wars was inspired by

I really love this channel. I understand it's not exactly bringing in a crazy amount ot audience or anything so it's hard to justify with a busy schedule, but i hope you continue it in some form, even if it's just a video once a month or every two. I always love seeing people who aren't familiar with film discover it's joys and it was great to watch your taste, albiet briefly, change as the channel moved along. I appreciated your honesty and open mindedness to a lot of these movies as well. There's still SO MUCH to discover and fall in love with. Do what you have to do because I get it, but i also hope this isn't definitively the end. Happy New Year! I'm glad it at least happened for a bit.

Sad to see Rewind go but get why, an occasional episode would be cool still!

I'm a few days late because of life and stuff, but just wanted to drop in and say thanks to both of you for this amazing series. I'm glad you're both able to prioritize what you need and make these decisions, but I am going to miss this series. I would have loved to see both of your thoughts on some of the sequels (particularly Matrix and Batman), but I guess that's just part of the bummer endings that we learned Matty loves so much. One small note based on the re-ranking, not a criticism, just something to think about: Rewatchability isn't always a good indications of how good a movie is. At least in my opinion. I actually have a separate category for movies that were incredible and I'm glad I watched, but I don't really ever want to watch again because they were just so visceral. For me that would include American History X, Requiem for a Dream, and Schindler's List. Amazing and powerful films that I would rank higher than something like Return of the Jedi (which I also loved) even though I'd watch RotJ 1,000 times before rewatching any of those other 3. Just something to consider as you continue to explore your relationship with film. Again, thanks so much for this channel and the work you both put into. I will definitely miss seeing these.

I've had to unsub or turn off daily notifications for a few creators because that's all they fuckin talk about. And I'm sick of it. Im so proud of you guys for doing this and making it a ride for us to join along with you on. Ill only speak for myself, but as someone who isnt really into movies, after the first couple weeks of this channel, i only tuned in for the stuff id seen, which was seldom. I still love the idea of hearing mattys takes on my favorite movies, but its a very specific list of stuff id watch, because watching any other videos on this channel will spoil the movie for me if i ever do decide to watch it. So i understand why it didnt work, but i also love that you guys gave it a shot and made some positivity on the internet while matty decided to do a year of movie watching. Excited to see how you guys grow next year ❤
