The 1 lb disposable propane cylinders have a Schraeder-type pressure relief valve that will vent gas and/or liquid well before the cylinder ruptures. However, if the cylinder is overfilled and left in a car on a warm, sunny day, it may vent inside the cab and create an explosion hazard from any electric spark, such as a switch opening or a static electric discharge. Also, the main valve and pressure relief valve of refilled cylinders may leak slowly after refilling, causing propane gas to fill an enclosed space and creating an explosion hazard.
You are correct! I appreciate your comments! Thanks for watching!
I have moved on to refillable propane tanks from Flame King. The store bought dark green cans are to sketchy to refill for me. You just never know if they are going to over fill \ expand if filled cold then hot day. I have moved all my non refillable to diff area and only keep them for emergency if needed.
That’s great!! I have a nerd version of this video that’s considerably longer and echoes exactly what you just said. Thanks for letting me know you watched. I really appreciate it!
really cool little tank!
I think it has possibilities! I really appreciate you watching the video and thanks for letting me know! Take care!
That is awesome! For a second there, I thought you were going to bring out a small coffee pot and pan. Excellent video.
I really appreciate that! I’m working on an ultralight stove kit for cooking and coffee. Hope you can come back for that one! Thanks for watching!
Actually, I've just found out they do a 15g one as well! Half the size - probably enough for one boil.
The one in the video is a 15 gram. With propane, I got 20 min at a low flame. Propane burns a good bit hotter than butane so should last longer. I’m glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!😀🔥
@@MIKESWILDWORLD Ah ok - apologies, I thought it was the 28g. Thanks for the info!
@CorvusNumber6 Thank you!
no links?
I see you are a super tech! You don’t need no stupid link! 😂 But I’ll be glad to send you one if you really do! Just let me know! Thanks for watching!
Prefect for a brew in the woods! 👍🏻😎
That’s what I’m saying! Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Hey Mike, thank you for the very informative video. Usually I use the small red tanks you shown. One day I will have a collection like yours! Cheers! ❤
Hey Stefano! Hope that’s correct? I really appreciate you taking time to let me know you watched. I’ve always used the 4 oz tank winter blend until recently I read up on the higher BTU and performance of propane. I started looking for a safe way to take it on the trail. I know some people think that little tank is stupid but I like it! I have a tiny cook kit video in progress. I hope you can catch it when it comes out. I really appreciate you watching! Thanks!
@@MIKESWILDWORLDthank you! Have a great Sunday Mike
Yeah I have one, and love it.
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it!
Great info.... I'll keep it in mind Thanks
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed it!
I wonder if one day someone will come up with a Titanium refillable canister ,ultra light. ultra compact and ultra expensive , now there's a challenge .
I certainly hope they do! Except for the expensive part! 😀Thanks for watching!
Good Morning Mike !
Great video , Very Cool little fuel cell , love the info about the Green tank 👍
Best gas video on the tubes ❤
20 mins for one and done , love it !
The cover comment I never knew 😮, good point
I love it Mike , very informative and fun
The man with all the cool toys… it might be a good thing to have, in case your isobutane canister doesn’t want to burn right… or for a “day-hike” lunch and coffee. It’s cool to see new gadgets! Thanks for showing it 👍🏻
I thought you might like it for your lantern or a tiny pocket rocket setup. You know, everything in a cup setup. Thanks for watching!
I wasn’t impressed. It was designed to use with that lantern. It’s impractical for anything else. I was most interested in that stove in the blue case if I’m being honest lol
So you wouldn’t consider that for a hot cup of coffee on a cold afternoon? You could even use that stove in the blue case! lol Thanks for watching!
@@MIKESWILDWORLD Nope. I’m not big on refilling tanks that shouldn’t be refilled. As a firefighter for over 30 years I’ve seen too many tanks that were supposed to be refilled doing baaad things. On a cold afternoon I’m cooking over a fire and/or I’m bring a small 100g isobutane cylinder I’ve kept inside my jacket 😎 I found that “blue case stove” being sold by WADEO. Not sure if that’s the exact one you have but it looked close enough to be it. Blue case with a canister stand for 19,99
I totally agree with not refilling the disposable tanks. You do understand that the small tank was made to be refilled. That’s kinda the point. Thanks!
@@MIKESWILDWORLD Yes. I pay attention in class 😆 I just don’t trust myself. I’m a plug and play type guy.
Perfect for that tiny coffee cup I got from you. Lol. Would be nice for a day hike.
It would be! A quick pick me up, so I can get back to the Jeep! 😀 Thanks for watching Chuck! Good to hear from you!
Thanks for sharing Mike
Thanks for watching!
Looks great i juat picked up one. But i didn't have and tires or bolts. Do u happen to know what size bolts and thread they were?
I looked mine over today. I could not tell anything about the bolts. The tires are 10 or 12s with 4 bolt pattern. Tractor supply for around 80.00 each. Thanks for watching. Hope that helps some.
Nice shop you have sir! I need to get my outbuilding set up to spend time tinkering in. It has become a storage nightmare lol! I too have become more wary of aluminum cookware and tend to stay with stainless, carbon steel, cast iron and Titanium. I have really come to enjoy Titanium a lot more in the past year or so with more practice. It is like anything, it just takes good technique to use properly. You have the secret figured out though…more butter! 🙂 Take care and be safe.
Storage nightmares happen after every house project because I take everything out to work with and I’m not real motivated to put it back where it came from! 😂 I eventually get it cleaned up! Thanks for watching!
What kind of stove is that? Never saw a burner that large.
That is my favorite stove of all time! It’s a Bulin BL 100. I got mine for around 25.00. Does need a grill for small pots. Thanks for watching!
Hand warmers worked out pretty good for ya. Good tip! Thanks for sharing. The chicken chalupa looked really good too.
Thanks Karl! I don’t recall cooking with sleet in my frying pan before. Pretty sure that might be a first! 😃 I really appreciate you man! Just yesterday I told Karen I had to get in touch with you to catch up. Thanks for watching buddy! ATB, MWW.
I changed jobs back in August. Between learning new stuff and it being their busy season, I stayed pretty busy and fell behind on social medias. Catching back up now. Looks like I have a lot to catch up on. Wish ya all the best, and hope you're doing well. Hopefully we can do some catching up at Fishpond!
Nice camping! I like your cold handle fry pan. I used one a lot when I was still at home, but it disappeared. They make a perfect size of eggs for an egg sandwich. I’ve got to find myself one of them…take care!
Thank you Doug! I’ve used several pans on my camping trips. Some were too heavy, some too big, some too small, some too, “would not fit in my pack right. “😁 When I found my cold handles, that’s all I need now. Usually use one smaller but that chalupa wouldn’t have fit! I really appreciate you watching! Thanks for the comment. Got a new piece of tech I think you’ll like next time. Hope you can come back for it! Thanks!
Very interesting. New subscriber.
I really appreciate that! Love to from you next video. Got some cool tech to show you! Thanks for watching!
Coffee looks more like rea to me, looks really weak!
I agree it does look weak. It’s an effect caused by pouring it in Sunlight. You have to look in the cup after it is poured. Try it for yourself. Indoor coffee looks stronger than outdoor coffee when pouring it. I noticed that some years ago as well. I hope you found something in the video enjoyable and I appreciate you watching. Thanks!
What state are you in ty 😊
Upstate South Carolina!
Very nice, what kind of frying pan is that you have? I really like the long handle on it. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Have a good one.
That’s called a Cold Handle pan. The handle on that size barely gets warm. The smaller ones can get uncomfortably hot. Mostly because the handle gets in the flame. I have a few others but that my favorite! Thanks for watching Tony! I really appreciate your comment to!
Ha ha ha !!! Mike you boys are something else I looked like that fuel canister down at Turkey foot last spring 😂😂😂 That Chalupa looked mighty tasty 😋 actually both did I would never have dreamed watching you boys out in the snow and sleet 👍🏻 You’re Awesome!!!! 🙌🏻❤️🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻
I can relax now. I finally heard from Donna! No comment section is complete until I hear from you! I should have stuck some of those heaters on me. That rainy sleet was cold! You take care of yourself! All my best!
@ Mike I had wondered when I watched Carolina Chris’ video if you were out there with him. I LOVE getting to watch your videos, next best thing to getting to hangout with ya and chat in person at the meetup. It’s always a joy 💯
🙂
Thanks
love my carbon steel pans
I do too!
I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THOSE CAN WARMERS & INFO ON GAS THANKS ⛺🫕🛶🇺🇲 IF YOU COULD COOK UP SOME PANCAKES AND CORNBREAD 🙏
Pancakes are fundamental, cornbread a little harder! 😂Thanks for watching!
You probably could have used only the one at the bottom if you would have started it before when you were setting up …seems almost wasteful to use all the others.
You are correct! It only needs to be above freezing not warm. Good observation! Next week check out the new Tech for solving cold weather gas issues! Thanks for watching!
suggestion: cook mac noodles at home. and add the tomato sauce so it marinates the noodles in a quality zip lock freezer baggie. At your campsite reheat the noodle/tomato sauce by placing it in the hot water of the coffee kettle on your the stove. Add your cooked sausage. You can then eat out of the baggie held inside your insulated bowl. No field dish washing. and you can reuse the hot water for your coffee.
I like when the flavor is in the pasta, like you are saying! Those are good ideas! Thanks for watching!
Where did you get your skillet from? I like it!
It’s the smallest of the Cold Handles. Perfect for backpacking. Thanks for watching!
I’ll need to try some of that bazooka soda!! Really enjoyed your video!
It’s really good! If you like that kind of thing! I think it came from Cracker Barrel.
Good to see you old boys out there doing it .
Kenneth I won’t speak for Chris but old age is gnawing at me and I keep gnawing back. But we all know how this ends! 😀 Thanks for watching!
I had the same idea awhile back when this Canadian fella was showing how he used warm water in a cup, the put his jet boil cylinder in it to cook a meal. While he was demonstrating this he had a hand warmer in his hand and the light bulb went on! I put my idea in his comments. I think you could get away with slapping one of those foot warmers on the bottom and be done with it myself. Cheers!😊
Yea it doesn’t take much to raise the tank temp and I surely over did the warmers. When people put covers on the tanks it only holds the cold in and doesn’t help. Even a cup of water is enough to make a difference. Catch my video next time. I think you’ll like the solution to cold gas cooking! Thanks for watching gud2go50. Catch you next time!
Thanks for Sharing Mr Mike. Awesome video. I love to see people in the elements. You also had good company there with you. 😀👍✝️
That’s our first snow in 3 years! I had to get out in it. Not just one crazy person, but two who willingly left a warm home to cook in the sleet and snow ! Go figure! 😂 Thanks you watching!
Where do you buy your coffee? Looks like something I'd like to try that's a good-looking hat
Hey Charles, they make that coffee in Georgia so that’s where I got the first bag but it’s available at Amazon. Would you believe my hat is from Tractor !This is one of my favorite videos, it’s just so odd looking. Thanks for watching!
@MIKESWILDWORLD thank you for such a prompt answer. I believe I'll try some of that coffee. My favorite hat is from Australia. It's leather and it's made by Barhma
Nasty weather boys. Food and coffee taste good when it’s cold. Take care😊
It’s better when you have to work for it! Thanks for watching Quinn!
Summer time in Canada! Thank you for sharing this with us, Mike. If the handwarmers are still working, put them in a sealed ziplok bag and press the air out. They will go dormant and can be used again. Stay safe and stay warm
😀, It was a media event down here! Haven’t seen snow in 3 years, so when it does, we go crazy. It still gets cold though but not like you guys! That’s the first time I’ve cooked with sleet in my frying pan! It was a good day. Thanks shovelhead8 for watching. I really appreciate it!
Nice outing and great tip
It was sleeting like no one’s business! First time I’ve had sleet in my frying pan! I really appreciate you watching! Thanks!
Great way to enjoy the weather most people dread. And I am not most people either lol. Good to see ya'll outdoors enjoying yourselves.
It was a good day in an unusual way! No way I wasn’t getting out in that! They don’t last long in upstate SC. Thanks for watching!
Good eats on your day out..
It was a different kind fun! Thanks for watching!
Well now, theres a pair to beat a full house!...LOL...looked like some real good eats Mike!...woods
Hey, thank you very much! It was an interesting day for sure! Chris sure sets a nice camp! Thanks for watching!
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WELCOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An old wool sock and a couple of those warmers work as well. Interested in what new "toy" that your going to debut.
I should have put some of those warmers in my shoes. My feet were freezing. I’m excited about that new item. It’s really cute! Thanks for watching Chris!
Always eatin’ good in the woods. Hope your new property is coming along. Thanks, Mike!
That was some tasty food! Helene messed up the forest pretty bad. That was part of the blow down in the video. I do believe that’s the first time I’ve ever had sleet bounce out of my frying pan! 😂 Thanks for watching Dean!
I'm booking a hotel room in Florida while I watch you sit in a sleet storm trying to cook lol...... 🤣 Oh man that mess was a bunch of nasty ice by the time it got to us.
When are we going? 😃
@MIKESWILDWORLD soon very soon, 75 degrees and ocean breeze.
@@journeyofbear6423 Thank you! I appreciate the invite! Always wanted to go back to Florida for a vacation! 😂😂😂 Hope you have a great time! Thanks for watching buddy.
Thank you for that information on butane/propane a nd other fuels. I wasn't aware of that. The only times I was out in the woods during winter time was while in the military, and we were usually not allowed to have a campfire, and used trioxane/hexamine (sp?) tabs to heat up water for coffee/tea. As a civilian, i took hot water or hot soup, in a thermos. Keep up the great work !!!
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching the video! Next week I’ll show you that new mini propane cylinder. 👍
@MIKESWILDWORLD , looking forward to that. Thank you !!!
Very nice vid...Reminds me of the hills of Wv where i lived...
Thank you! I hope to put a little cabin there before long. Can’t wait for the spring!
