Some good sized blue gill there. I've got some light tackle that would be a blast catching those on.
That was a lot of fun!
Good ole fish fry! Looking good.
Thanks 👍
That's a nice looking property. You will have plenty to keep you busy.
Thank you Sir!! I am looking forward to seeing what I can do with it. Thanks for watching!
6:55 I picked one up that's in pretty bad shape, rusty. Top has cracks around edges, and is missing plastic. But is fairly solid. Not sure if I want to try to patch, or just fiberglass over the outside and paint. I like the gas strut setup. I have the original top props that came with the top. What did you use to fill the crack in the top.
Congratulations on finding one! If you use gas struts you might consider permanent hinges at the front. It would be a good improvement. I used J B Weld plastic epoxy but it failed too after a while. There’s something in the design that cracks the front left corner. I think it’s the spacing front to back. That’s why hinges might be better. Holler back if you get questions. Thanks for watching!
Nice, where did you get your decals?
eBay and special order. Thanks for watching!
Mike, I just bought one of these the other day. I really enjoyed watching you restore yours in this video. I'd love to know more about how you made the brace across the top. I have cracks in my top, and reinforcing it like you did would be a good idea for mine. Did you special order your decals, or find them for sale somewhere? It looked to me like you used Gorilla glue to patch up your lid. I was thinking of using fiberglass cloth and epoxy as I did previously with some of the cracked plastic on my pop up camper. Maybe I can get away with Gorilla Glue and fiberglass cloth. How is yours holding up?
Hey, thanks for watching! On the brace it’s a 2 in wide 8 ft aluminum strip I bent in my vise to best of my ability to fit the curvature of the top. I used 3M ultra double sided sticky tape to hold it. Didn’t want to add holes to the top. I used plastic epoxy for the corner repair and no it didn’t hold up. Something in the design made it break again just like the first owner. I found the decals on eBay but had to special order the Versa labels. Good luck with your restore and I’ll be looking forward to seeing the finished product.
@@MIKESWILDWORLD Thanks!
Great, thanks Mike
Hey, thank you for watching !
God😅😊
Those things are bad news in the south. Mean!
👍😉
Congratulations Mike looking like you own a little piece of heaven. Best of good luck to you Enjoy
Thanks for watching! I’m excited about hanging out and getting started with some fun projects!
Howdy mike great to see a man
OH WOW ! CONGRATULATIONS 😊
Oh baby, baby, it's a wild world 😂
Absolutely stunning, well done guys!!!!!!❤
Thanks Steve! I’m itching to get started, but got some remodeling to get done. Maybe it will be cooler by then. Thanks for watching Winkleman!
Love the video, Dad! I can’t wait to see what this becomes. I know this has been your dream for years!! I loved walking on the property with you yesterday! 😀❤️
I was sure I had responded to this earlier but guess not! Thank you for going to see it. We’ll see if I know what I’m doing and how many mistakes I make. There’s always a learning curve! Love you! ❤️
Thants fantastic I wish you well.
Thank you very much!
Congrats on your new slice of natural beauty, Mike!
Thanks Doug! The video only showed about a 1/4 of the lot. The hardwoods truly are huge, for around here! If you ever want to go see, just let me know!
@@MIKESWILDWORLDI would enjoy that. Need to have you over here for a woods walk, too. It's pawpaw season...
Nice video Mike. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching!
That’s awesome Mike. Congratulations! Maybe name the road into your place (driveway) Wisteria Lane? 😂 I can see thousands of videos coming out of your slice of paradise here. You’re going to have a lot of dam projects here lol I can also see a drinking game evolving here 🤪🤣
Wisteria Lane? 🤔 Thanks! All I see right now are dam projects but couldn’t be happier to get going. It’ll take me a year to get to the land straightened out. Thanks!
Great video dad! I can’t wait to do more exploring of the creek!! Thanks for letting me help design the cabin! After seeing property yesterday I can’t wait to see it finished I think it will look amazing 😁
Definitely on the cabin! That’s still in flux ! You know I dream big and build small. Thank you for walking in the rain with me! The best times are you ones you don’t plan! 😀
@@MIKESWILDWORLD well no matter how small a dream is, if it happens then in my eyes it’s a dream come true! 🥰 It was fun! And you’re right the best times are ones you don’t plan on! 😁
How wonderful, Mike!!!
Thank you Miss Ruth! Someday come down and rock on the porch with us! If I ever get one.
Congratulations to y’all!!! It’s a beautiful place with tons of potential. It’s perfect for what you’ve been dreaming of doing for so long… plus, you won’t ever need to waste any money on YMCA dues, because I believe you’ll be constantly “working out” 😂🤣😂👍🏻
Thanks Chris! That little 1hr run with the chainsaw required Advil! That’s what happens when you set on your butt to much! 😂 Can drive to cabin ridge now!
@@MIKESWILDWORLD - awesome! Save me two trees about 12 or 13 feet apart, on a level spot! 😁
oh heck yeah Mike! I am so excited for you guys! What a beautiful spot, Love it. looking forward to all the adventures you are gonna produce from here. Congrats to ya Buddy!
Thanks Karl! That Wisteria might get the best of me!😂 The creek sold me. It’s really clean and cool!
Lucky man.
Thanks! Excited!
Love your little syrup bottle...ok..dumb question...cowboy coffee pod..does the pod disolve or do you fish it out n yhrow it away?
Fish it out! No grounds to clean up!
Beautiful forest...cute "flower pot" stand..sorry my first thought...lol. so you cant store fuel in it like Trangia? Ok..husband not gonna be happy but now its pancakes for dinner!! Yummy
Pancakes are always good! Specially with Maple!
That does look like a handy chair. I'm looking forward to see if it holds up fot you. I'm concerned with how low they are to the ground. I'm getting a knee replacement in a few months. Looks good though. Take care
Hey Tressa! I made that new old chair work for the day, but it wasn’t very stable and some of the stitching started showing stress real quick. There are a lot better chairs out there for camping but the 2 for 7 sucked me in. I really appreciate you watching! Thanks!
I really like this trailer and you did a great job restoring it!
Thank you Chris! Lowes almost ran out of paint!
Hi Mike! it has taken me all week, and 6 attempts to complete watching this. Your sponsors are enjoying me 🤣🤣😂. Finally wrapped it up this morning. Good seeing ya out and about enjoying life. was fun watching ya catch the lil-uns, and your meal looked great. I think it was the Mikey sauce, which set it up over the top. What do ya mean not gourmet? Enjoyed! Best to ya!
Appreciate you staying with it till the end. I usually season as I cook. Can’t do that with a foil pack in the coals! It was a fun day, but I ain’t as young as I used to be. I love seining. I couldn’t believe how much I have missed it. Felt like growing up again. Thank you so much for staying with it. Give me a call if you have time.
Two pieces of stiff wire will support the pot! I used "music wire" (AKA 'piano wire').
Thanks. I ended up making a tiny light weight grill from a flower basket bottom. One of those .50ers from the thrift store. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!!
Im having this for dinner tonight !😊
What time should I be there? ! Thanks for watching!
Good stuff Mike. Your doing it right. Thanks
Thanks Barry! Man I really appreciate that. I really enjoyed my day and seining just gets me excited. Thanks again!
Awesome video sir. Thanks for sharing. Safe adventures. 😀👍✝️
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching! Was so good meeting you at the meet up! Thanks!
2 chairs. One for each cheek? 😂
One is kinda wobbly by itself. Maybe 2 will work better. Thanks for watching!
Good show Mike! Thanks for clearing the creek out so I won’t scratch up my canoe! Those were some dandy bream. That area seems to hold some bigger ones in there. I bought one of those chairs a couple years ago, but the fabric ripped after using it three or four times. It was well used when I got it. I was hoping to see a crawdad or two. You picked a good day to go… seems like it’s been cloudy or raining everyday since. Looked like you had a lot of fun, and that’s what it’s all about! Good job on the camera angles and editing too!!!! 👍🏻
Thank you Chris! It was a lot of fun. Kinda back to my roots. I’m ready to go back for an overnight camp. Let me know if you want in it!
First
Lovely fish and VIDEO 😮 wow
Ooooh WOW , whopper !!!!😮
That chair is COOL 😮
Thanks Steve! Hope there is something in there for everyone!
You can get a bigger gasifier now that has a 20cm diameter instead of 13. If they had made it just a few mills bigger, it would be possible to fit the small one inside the big one, when packed up. Then you could carry 2 in the space of the large one - if you wanted to. But for a few mills larger diameter, why not?
They have made a lot of improvements since that stove came out. That video was 3 years ago. I still love use it though. Thanks for watching!
That’s a great idea. I would’ve never guessed this methodology. Great content. S.N. : Good Meeting you at the BBQ Festival
Thank you! It was great talking with you. The email on my channel is not working. Here’s one that does: michaelblackwellat@gmail.com
So what are you doing are you trying to find the ant Queen
These are fire ants. Just showing how aggressive they are if you accidentally disturb them. They bite and sting by the thousands. They rank next to yellow jackets in not needed!
Thank you for making this video Cheers.
You are welcome! Even more, thank you for watching it!!!
Looked good to me, I would drink that cold coffee 😉
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Mike, I was in touch with the good people at GSI Outdoors yesterday and they asked me who my favorite ‘outdoorsy’ TH-camrs are. Your channel name was one of the first I mentioned. So, if you should hear from them, it’s not a con/fake. I got my fingers crossed for you
I really appreciate that!! We got one of those GSI folding rocking chairs. Great stuff! Thanks again Alan!
Great fishing Mike. Thank you for sharing. Nice camp. Have a wonderful day 😊
Appreciate that! It was a beautiful spot. Thank you for watching and you have a great day as well.
Howdy Mike ❤
Way to go Donna ❤
Way to go Carolina Chris 👏 🙌 💪
HEY !!!!!!! 👋 😮 Mike !!!! 3:01 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Ain't it strange there's no mfg on mine ????
That's cool Mike , thanks for the mention, and for demonstration of the stove
Ironically I just drank my can of Rain from the spring meet a few min before I watched this.. Those cans make it super cold in the fridge... Love me some fresh gills.. I always use Moss's Seafood breader but will give the hush puppy mix a try !!!!!
My wife said it was funny when I said , “I like to carry a can of rain “. It had been a while since I went fishing and was really happy I caught some!! I was going to use a pack of that kraut from the meetup with some pepperoni in it for a wrap if I didn’t catch anything! Next time!! Thanks for watching Chuck! I missed not getting to talk more at the meetup. Sure enjoy talking to you!!!
Good job, Mike! Nothing wrong with how your fish turned out! Looked good to me. And can't beat cooking with these old cold handle skillets. I have several that are my favorites to cook on
Hey I really appreciate that complement! I love my cold handles. That was my smallest one. It makes great coffee too. Thanks Chad!
That looked delicious. I’m going to have to try that House Autry onion hushpuppie mix 👍🏻 My Grandma (farm girl) was the Bluegill queen 😊
I’m not lying, that mix is just right! For me anyway. I highly recommend it! Thanks for watching!
Nice job Mike. That certainly looked like some mighty fine eats. Thanks for sharing
They are small, but they taste great! I appreciate you watching the video! 😀
Awesome video sir. Thanks for sharing. 😀👍✝️
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching!
Heck yeah! Looked good to me… (except the cold coffee 🤮 )HA HA HA!
Thanks Chris! Thought you might enjoy the reference. ! 😂
@@MIKESWILDWORLD - HA! I’m probably going to have to try that sometime… don’t worry, if I like it I’ll give you full credit!
Awesome lil stove Mike. There's not much better eating than some fresh fried Brim aka Bluegills aroind my neck of the woods.
Growing up we called the small ones brim or sunfish. When they got bigger and darker we called them bluegills. Thanks for watching Chris!
