Looks like a Chestnut White Oak, Mike. I have a few young ones in my woods. My Dad has one in his yard we grew from a collected acorn. I planted a Jerry sized sapling in my yard last year that he grew from an acorn from his tree. Hopefully Jerry thrives where you planted him.
Thanks Doug! I think you are right about the chestnut white oak! When I saw the tree that the acorn came from I new that was the tree I wanted to leave as a legacy. I hope I get a chance to show Jerry to my grandkids. I am skeptical that this generation would find it remotely interesting! Thanks for watching!
I love that you're doing this, Mike. I hope that you mark this tree with something permanent. So someone will find it a 100 years from now. I know the story
Lovely job Mike, hope Jerry likes his new home, and hopefully we will see updates of how he is growing 😃👍🏻
Thanks Mike! I’m going to keep up with Jerry. There will be footage! Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Good luck Jerry (and Jerry, too or 2) 🌳🪱👍🏻
Thanks Chris!
I found a good stealth spot if you’re interested!
You're a man with a kind loving ❤️
We try every day. But sometimes!

Great 👍 that’s awesome
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching!
Great video Mike! Trees are so important and people just keep cutting them down for more parking lots and shopping centers.
Thanks Chris! Maybe we should have a population cap. And leave a few places not filled up!
👍👍👍😀
Thank you!

I am going to monitor it and when I think it will make it, I’ll mark a witnesses tree. Maybe a geocache with the story behind it. Just thinking.
Good morning mike have a great friday
Thanks! You too!
