Mike, I learned a really great trick from another TH-camr (who’s channel name escapes me at the moment. I’m old and have advanced CRS) for lighting alcohol stoves. He fills the stove with fuel, gets about a 10” long twig and dips it in the stove/fuel, then he lights the twig and uses that to light the fuel. Yes it sounds like a lot of extra steps, until you try it. It only adds a few extra seconds to the process and get your darned hand well out of the way 😆
Thanks. I ended up making a tiny light weight grill from a flower basket bottom. One of those .50ers from the thrift store. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!!
Beautiful forest...cute "flower pot" stand..sorry my first thought...lol. so you cant store fuel in it like Trangia? Ok..husband not gonna be happy but now its pancakes for dinner!! Yummy
Shame about the pancake, it was looking good too. Good recovery. Love the new stove. The pot stand is really nice. You got quite a bit out of that 2 ounces of fuel. Good job! Fun video Mike. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks Karl!! That thing was hot. I think I am going to like using it in the future. I appreciate you watching the video. This heat wave needs to stop. I hope you have a great day. Thanks again!!
HA!!!!!! I knew what it was going to happen!!!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!! A little grit doesn’t hurt. Glad you brought your food duster. I like that stand. I think you could run a couple tent stakes through the holes around the top to give you a stable place to sit in your coffee pot on... 🔥☕️🥞👍🏻
I thought you might enjoy a good pancake in the dirt moment!!😂😂 I like the tent stake idea. That surround worked great for me. And a new stove is always a plus! Thanks for watching Chris !
I bought one! This thing is a flame thrower! I boiled 5 eggs in around 10 minutes in an aluminum pan with probably 4 cups of water. It does smoke so you need ventilation but it throws out a nice flame that engulfed the entire bottom of the pan!
Awesome video. I love alcohol stoves. You got me hooked. 🤗. I wonder if you could turn the holder upside down so your kettle will balance on it. Not sure if it would get enough air if the vents are close to the ground but it might work in a pinch. Thanks for sharing 🤙👍🤗

I check occasionally and see he is producing less content the last yr or so. Cool little set up. My little backyard camp right in the woods across the barn lot i could see burying that thing for the most part. Of course with the fire anchor/squirrel cooker not sure it would get used much. Nice having a stove sometimes and not have to worry about a full blown fire. Great video Mike

2 thin tent stakes...like the Shephard's hook ones that come with cheap tents or tarps....through the vent holes, to keep smaller pots/cups than the top of it, from sliding down like your coffee pot did. Keep up the great work !!!
Mike, my Crazy Power stove just arrived! I like it a lot so far. I’ll have to light it later on for the full test lol Thanks for bringing this to my attention via your video 👍🏻
Great review Mike. You can't beat those stoves. What fry pan is that your using? I've seen many people using that one but can't find out what brand it is. Keep those video's coming Buddy. I'm enjoying them.

To fix the issue with your smaller jug/pot not sitting on the the burner shroud, will it work if you invert the the shroud? That way, you get a double size stove. I realise that there is only one set of air holes around the outer edge and those would then be at the bottom, but it may just work and after all, it has a hole in the base that suggests it could be used either way up? Maybe worth experimenting with.
That pancake looked yummy. I hate you lost the first one. Have you ever used the simmer ring on those knock off stoves? You can control the heat a little with them so they aren’t just full on heat coming out. Great post as always, Mike!

If you want to use your small pot with this stove take a metal coat hanger and cut two skewers a little longer than the wind screen is wide. Put a twist in each end so they don't poke a hole in your gear. Place them parallel to each other through the holes in the top of the stove screen and your pot will sit level on them.
