You fumbled this one. You can't have an outspoken traitor lead your national team. By the way, you omitted and gave the impression that the Catalans never had a choice. This is a terrible video because when General Franco died, then the provinces now known autonomous regions created the Spanish Constitution in 1978. The Constitution states that for an independence movement to be legal, all Spanish citizens would have to vote for a desolation of the union, not just Catalans. The referendum was illegal, and the reason why politicians went to prison and some are still hiding from justice for attempting a Coup D'Etats. Again, did Catalans have a chance to vote for their autonomy? They did!!! It was Pep's parents who said no. It was the grandparents of the college students waving the independence flags who said no. Again, only talking about Franco and Johan is at best short-sighted and at worst propagandist. Pep has spit in the eyes of Spaniards who supported him on the national team. He has rejected a union that brought prosperity to the region. Your next video should be about the investment that all of Spain gave Catalonia for the Barcelona Olympics of 1992. There is justified bitterness towards people like Pep and Gerald Piques.

Be careful giving people history lessons. You made interesting points until your last sentence… Do latin American have a right to be justifiably bitter? You mention choice: What about the conquistadors? Did they have a choice to not annihilate a race of people? Perhaps the writer of this video should do his next video on how the Spanish destroyed and created genocide for millions of people. Just as you state Catalans had a choice, you also have a choice not to be bitter. There is no such thing as justified bitterness. It is the sign of someone who is not mature enough to understand the workings of his/her own mind. Unclench the hatred that you imprisoned yourself and let it go. Why carry on the bitterness of previous generations. You do have a choice! BTW - I’m half Spanish and Peruvian but living in catalunya but raised in Australia.

According to the Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió (CEO), in 2024, 42% of the population supported independence. In 2017, with the 'referendum', it reached 49%. To keep Catalonia as a "autonomous community", it's still the winning position. But to say that 40% of Catalonians opinions is a 'minority' is savage.

I’m old enough to remember this club. Their recruitment was horrible. Literally signed a bunch of aging League 2 & League 1 players from England. The only talent it had going were the players they recruited from New Zealand’s League and Australian state leagues. Jonas Salley and Jeremy Brockie off the top of my head.

They weren't the first, the Kingz were in 1999.

Hey! Thanks for watching. Good call, the Kingz weren't part of the A-League (wasn't established yet). The majority of the teams in the NSL were also semi-professional. The Knights were definitely a reboot of the Kingz franchise though!

@@SAMUTHESAMBABALL I seem to remember some controversy about the kingz and how they used the club like a Christian fundamentalist missionary organization. Wynton Rufer who was one of the main driving forces behind the club, even had a job coaching an NZ youth team and the players walked out because he was such a POS demanding they pray and accept Jesus etc.

I really think FIFA should redraw the AFC and OFC so Oceania can get the east Asian teams and more competition. I know they're guaranteed a WC spot now with the 48-team expansion, but what is the ceiling for OFC teams otherwise?

Under the old system there were 5 African spots, 5 Asian spots, and half an Oceanid spot. I've always thought they should redraw the regions into East Asia-Pacific, West Asia plus the Arabic North African countries, then sub Sahara Africa. Give three spots to each and on a merit basis allocate one extra spot to the best performing confederation each cycle, and the other half spot to the second best performing.
