    Hiya, just wandering whether you could help me with a few questions I have?
    1. what items you needed to have to start as an agent? Like smartphone, laptop?( What sort of laptop is best)? Did you have to get your own solicitor or did you use the agencies one! Did you need your own account ?
    2. Did you work from home at all?
    3.

      Hey Naomi, good questions. You definitely need a smart phone and a laptop to get started. They don't have to be fancy but need to be relatively capable. Any standard $1-2K laptop would do the job fine. I personally have a $300 phone and it worked great. I wouldn't purchase any items for this job until you've signed with an agency. They likely are able to provide you with the things you need for free, or assist in acquiring what you need to get started. You don't need a solicitor, the buyer and seller each have their own one. I'm not sure what you mean by account? Let me know. And yes I worked from home but most agencies have an office you can use if needed. Hope this answers your questions!

      Great, thanks for the advice. Appreciate it. Sorry I meant accountant lol .. would I need to get my own accountant seeing as I’ll be running my own business ☺️

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL
      @SAMUTHESAMBABALL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naomivaetoru6157 Ah that makes more sense! You can choose whether to have an account or not. I opted for the agency to pay me like an employee so they already deducted tax from my commission - but once you sell a lot of houses you can tell your agency that you want to do your own tax and do it through an accountant. So you can choose!

    • @moneymum5764
      @moneymum5764 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your self employed, so you should get an accountant. Laywer is not needed the clients use their lawyers. It depends what agent you are with although you are self employed some have expectations that you be in training and office. You will need a laptop and phone. Signs and flag if they don’t provide you with. Some you have to buy business cards. You pay for your own printing. You need some money backed up cos it’s getting listings that is hard and it could take you 6mths or longer before you get a listing. You have to prospect.

    Hey bro what sort of coin do you make ? After selling one property

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL
      @SAMUTHESAMBABALL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Moala, a real estate agents Commission will range depending on the agency you are working for. It's usually between 2.5 to 4% of the sales price of the property. The agency will take a cut (usually more than half) and then you have your other expenses as well. You're still left over with a healthy sum of money!

    • @moneymum5764
      @moneymum5764 ปีที่แล้ว

      It also depend if you work in with other agents buyers. Eg you sell a house and another agent has a buyer and you give a cut of your commission portion to that agent as they brought the buyer. Not all agents do this tho. You have gst to consider also.

    How to get phone numbers? Or leads,?? Please suggest…….

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL
      @SAMUTHESAMBABALL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually the initial leads you will land will be from your friends and family and the people they might know that are looking or thinking of selling. In real estate it's usually a very long process to sell a house. So people you get in touch with will probably list their house for sale 6 months - 1 year later. That's why it's important to keep in regular touch with all the people in your pipeline. Your agency will be key in this though as they will need to teach you how to do these things. Thanks for watching!

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL

      Wow I love that! It's okay, you could dip your toes in the real estate by reaching out to some agencies in your area and letting them know you are getting your licence. From there you could ask to shadow some agents for a day to see if you like the life style. It only gets really busy/stressful once you have a listing to manage. Thanks for watching!

      Hey Happy, you are generally always part of a team in some way, shape or form in Real Estate. I think that the difference lies in the size of an agency - if you're in a big agency there will be more agents to collaborate with and learn things from them, a smaller agency will have less time to give you.

    • @moneymum5764
      @moneymum5764 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was with Harcourts. If you team up with an experienced agent they take a cut of your commission. The listing goes under them as lead lister.

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL
      @SAMUTHESAMBABALL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer not to mention them as I don't want this type of biographical content to reflect on them negatively in any way. It's the give and take of this type of content of that makes sense! There's heaps of good agencies to choose from in Hamilton but the most important thing will be people that are able to mentor you every step of the way. Thanks for watching friend!

    i just watched all the videos for your real estate journey :)) i recently just signed with an agency in Auckland as a pa, and im going to start studying my license shortly. I just wanna ask how old you are when u started studying/how old are you now :)) and also were you planning on hopping into the real estate field again?

    • @SAMUTHESAMBABALL
      @SAMUTHESAMBABALL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! That's probably the perfect way to get into the real estate world. I was 23 and now I'm 24 :)
      The only thing I can see myself doing is helping real estate agents market themselves/their listings - Writing listings, helping agents with social media stuff. I guess I'm more of a marketing guy rather than a sales guy. If that makes sense! ☺️

    i disagree with nearly everything you said in this video, i sold 7 properties in my first year and my 2nd year is looking like being better, i think it sounds like you want an easy job that works around you, as for this job taking every second and minute etc etc etc, i call bullshit on that, you get out what you put in, i do not work nights unless im presenting an offer or listing a property so lets say that happens maybe 20 to 30 nights a year out of 365, i also do not work saturdays because i dont need to, what i see is a guy who thought he was in for an easy ride ad wanted his sundays free for mcdonalds and mcflurries, quit crying and get on with it, you nipped it in the bud when people called you for appraisals???? seriously no wonder you failed
    so your license is on hold and you want to shoot the breeze and talk real estate and help people with their assignments,,yeah thats not a good move without a license pal, pS if you go back to real estate i would suggest deleting this video because you come off as someone to be dodged like the plague

      Hi Aaron, thanks for watching and leaving a comment, it helps a bunch with the algorithm and pushes my annoying opinion out to more people. I noticed that there was a lack of assistance from inside the real estate world in New Zealand to help people study and pass the course, which is where my videos have come from. I got my license in 6 weeks time and have since assisted many people in wrapping their heads around this course. I see that as a net positive contribution to our society. In terms of my own real estate career, it's absolutely not for me. Which in no way diminishes or takes away from any advice I am able to provide for people who seek it. This is essentially a video blog series that narrates and describes my experience on the journey I took - so not sure how you can disagree with another individuals personal experience, unless you are a clairvoyant wizard who can empathetically read other peoples mind? I am no longer a real estate agent and am doing great, in an industry focused on building online communities. Something that if you look around you, you are currently engaging with. Seems I do know what I am talking about in that space! Cheerio and all the best for your career in Real Estate.

Is there an email I could contact you on? Cheers!
