If you talkin about Grassroots, Football Mafia has destroy all Grassroots since " Dark Era " of Indonesian Football. A lot of my Bestfriend's also became a victim ( who also eyewitness ) of what Football Mafia do since joined Academy. Now, Erick Thohir ( Former President of Inter Milan, who saved the club from Bankruptcy, who became a Chairman of Indonesian Football Federation, today ) do a two type of Football Project: First, Short Term Project which is we called back our people's, who are Talented Diaspora / Halfblood Indonesian Football player on every country in the world. Because, some of them really miss their country and got motivated by their family ( Maybe their Grandma, Grandpa, Dad, Mom, and etc ) and maybe their Bestfriend who also Halfblood Indonesian who wanted to Joined National Team, but some reason they can't because some circumstance to play on their roots National Football Team. Second, is Long Term Project. Mr Erick Thohir saw a lot problem on Indonesian Football ( caused by destructive project from Football Mafia and Corrupt people on Federation, a LONG LONG TIME AGO ). He saw the Grassroots so messed up, because last time i joined Football Academy, a lot Football Mafia controlled some Football Academy from Class C to Class A. Even on Local Football Club Trial, you can see what Football Mafia Does, they bring Grade F player who played so bad ( like, they didn't know how to do Passing and even Dribbling ) But, that Football Mafia do his work on Club Office and... you know... Negotiation Time. And can you guess ? Those Bad Players got Accepted, while talented players didn't made it, because of them ( Football Mafia ) Now, Mr Erick Thohir alongside with Ms Ratu Tisha ( Vice Chairman Of Indonesian Football Federation ) try to Rebuild the Grassroots step by step, slowly but sure and also DETAIL. To avoid Football Mafia Sabotage, because the Mafia also tried to destroy the Indonesian Football " Reformation " by called out and give some sh**ty unknown misinformation about what they do on TV Or Podcast ( some of them got a Boss who also a friend of some Big Media Boss, propaganda agenda stuff... ) And even do Racism to Halfblood player for unbelieveble reason, just because their Skin Colors, how they speak ( since they're born outside Indonesia, some of them talk in English, half English Half Indonesian, and some of them can talk in Indonesian ) and you know what ? Some Football Mafia even payed Internet Buzzer since long time ago to Attack their Family and even the player's self... which is... HORRIBLE I Swear to god, someone need to do Vigilante ( Catch all Football Mafia and their biggest Boss who destroy Indonesian Football for their Agenda )
OH WAIT, i forgot about third project, MIDDLE TERM PROJECT by Mr Erick Thohir, i forgot what is it about, but he want a to increase squad depth. If some player got injured in important match, the team got another options. I think some of people in the comment talk and explained about Middle Term Project, you can check it out !
This explanation is perfect, I want foreigners to see from another perspective about the Indonesian football project, so that they don't only see from the front, but also from other directions.

Rizki Ridho is prove that Indonesia grassroot player can compete against diaspora players. But he also prove that no matter how big grassroot player talent are, we still need non grassroot player as well.
True that. In sports, we cannot deny genetics factors that can come into play. There are reasons why the winners of marathon or any kind of running usually came from Africa. Foreign players in Indonesian team lineup really help to mitigate this. I'd say that Indonesian team right now is a super team where in theory, they could play in any climate possible. Playing in cold subtropic regions? Field the Dutch. Playing in tropical countries like their own country? Field the local players and watch foreigner sweat to hell. That being said, they should really patch up their local youth to train for football since early ages like how China treats their Olympics athletes. These golden age of Indonesian foreign players won't be here forever, they'll get old, and as time goes on it would be harder to find Caucasian that is linked to Indonesia by blood. They have to start reshaping their football academy.
Cost? Wrong!! The BENEFIT is they inspire Indonesian kids to hone their skills and elevate their game to the world stage. Check out Indonesia U-20 beating Argentina just a few months ago. In July, the U-16 squad finished third in ASEAN U-16 tournament after 5-0 win over Vietnam. These are inspired youth and it’s not a coincidence. Indonesia is playing the long game, buddy! 😉
U beating Argentina but then lost to Thailand and south Korea right? You aren't suppose to look at the situation like you did. You should look into bigger picture. When there's many downs than ups that means you not yet that good. Like Saudi beat Argentina but then lost to Poland and Mexico. Beating Argentina not mean much here if you still failing more than you winning. It's still too early to think that your youth players have good quality.
@@Kawaga-uc4qq that’s not even the point. 5/10 years ago beating Argentina was not even in the realm of possibilities. They will not win ALL the time, naturally - they’ll win some and lose some, to be sure. But at least they’re now in the mix and on the right trajectory. Success was never going to be an overnight thing. Think the big picture, dude.
Morroco did the exact thing and went on to the world cup semifinal, im not overhyping indonesia, but its good to see that a lot of Indonesians still has that belief of the "garuda" becoming one of the best in the world and doesn't blame the players when they lost, for example when then lose to Japan all of Indonesia players gather and sing a song together with their fans, which is a good thing 👍
Indonesians are objectives. Even the lost against China, they did not hesitate to critisize coach STY too. The only problem is, the more passionate people are, the more toxic they could be. They will never be in between, either they will fly u as high as the sky, or put you down as deep as the ground. 😂
In 20 years of watching Indonesian football, this is probably the most exciting time it's ever been as an Indonesian fan. You're correct that we need to wait for the next several years to see if the grassroots and domestic league will improve. The recent success is nice, but to really tap in the potential, Indonesia needs to develop the football culture internally. I disagree that the increasing number of naturalized players are discouraging to local players. The national team success has shown that naturalized players are that much better than the average homegrown talents. At the same time, there are few players like Rizky Ridho and Marselino Ferdinan who have shown that they are just as good as some of the naturalized players. Ridho's last performance against Saudi Arabia showed that, he played just as well as Jay Idzes and Calvin Verdonk. They have proven that despite all the obstacles they faced during their formative years (corruption, lack of grassroots, lack of nutrition and knowledge, etc), they were still able to develop into quality players.
What holds Indonesian players back isn’t just spots in the national team, but a lack of proper investment and good institutions. Global attention, investment, and increased professionalism will bring added interest, better quality, and stronger competition over the long term.
@@DYTIIIthe development of Indonesian football has 3 categories : Short terms, Medium terms, and long terms. all that commitment has writen on a blueprint while FIFA decided put their office in Indonesia a couple months ago.
@@DYTIII Very true my friend. A spot in the national team is just a benchmark. It's the standard which every Indonesian player (both in-grown and naturalized) should AT LEAST aspire to. The rest is on PSSI and grassroots movements to visualize and execute. The government also needs to support in broader terms. It needs to further education and funding on proper nutrition, health, and physical education (all will improve the people's quality of life and well-being). On top of that, the government needs to control air pollution and environment in general (you can't have healthy population when they breathe in nitrous oxide constantly), and dare I say, the government needs to push back against what I believe is Indonesian's achilles heel: the tobacco industry.
Being born with mixed blood - Dutch and Indonesian - is given that none of these footbalers could choose their anchestor They're actually blessed for having two national identities by their DNA Culturally, both Dutch and Indonesian are an opposite polar one to another, they are totally different characteristically - while the Indonesians have so much dream, passion, spirit, heart and emotion toward football, as well as talents in grassroots, the Dutch (or European) knows how to manage football industry profesionally, with much better system, management, and projection for the future so the two nations (Netherlands and Indonesia) can actually build closer-friendship with mutual benefits in every aspect diplomatically, despite their bitter history in the past - and these naturalized players are are now bridging both nations to reach that close-relations, and making peace of the past for better future
@@worlds3061 you can do that if you "talented" enough or just go there, works or marry to the dutch earn your citizenship. lots of north african became citizen there. people (like you) always think the grass always greener on the otherside. the dutch might be "better" than indonesia economically NOW but we dont know about the future. but surely we are rising steadily. theres no place like home.
@@UnnamedLexicon Yes I agree with your sentiment, I don't hate my country, In fact I would defend it to death like so many times before as "keyboard warrior". But you can't deny all the shits this country is experiencing, corruption and nepotism are the main factors, so you can't blame some Indonesian to leave this country, but even then i have hope our country will be great once again. I'm a college student that dream of working and live abroad but that doesn't mean I will abandon my Indonesian citizenship. If our dream is realized to become somewhat better, I would return here again if my life is settled abroad (hopefully). I made a comment under one of Raymond Chin's (if you know him) YT Short reel about why some Indonesian were willing to give up their passport to leave this country, in that comment I gave my two cents that talked about Indonesian who live abroad don't hate their country but they're sad about our situation here. That comment had over 2k+ likes and the replies came from them living abroad and agreed to my sentiment.
This project is best for short-term to give Indonesian Kids hope and dreams but in the long-term we must have a solid foundation to our football pattern. Indonesia is not like South Korea or Japan we have different characteristics, we must take a very long journey...😊
2 millions of Indonesian descent living in the Netherlands or +/- 10% of Dutch population..500 of them are footballers from amateur to pro level..many Indonesian descent played for Dutch national team in the past until present.. Ruud Gullit, Gio Van Bronckhorst,John Heitinga, Nigel de jong, Dani Landzaat until Tijjani Reijnders now..Indonesia should utilise this privilege whilst developing their local football system..
A lot of kids in indonesia wants to train football right now, beacuse the national team become national sensations. The kids want to become their favorite player.
Grassroots football has failed in Australia too. Australia needs to start shipping 10 and 11 year olds to UK again. I love the Aleague but the last two decades of football development has been rubbish.
developing Football and the grassroot is all about money and that what my country struggle with too. Funding from government is really needed. But it also so tricky to convince the government.
As an Indonesian I can confirm that this is a very dilematic situation for us. Yes we are love and enjoying our current success and rise, because we are really tired seeing our national team consistently acting like a bunch of clowns for every single year on the international stages. But in the same time we also start having concern about the future of our grassroots and youth development. Most of us are actually not really care about who will fighting for our crest on the pitch, as long they share the same passion, fighting spirits, and love to our beloved nation like us, it's fine. But we can't keep relying on them to carry our name on the football pitch untill the end of the world, we also need to do something for our native-born talents. It'll be a lie if any Indonesians said that they didn't want a squad full of native-born players representing us on the World Cup stage. PSSI (Indonesian FA) need to upgrade our grassroots, youth development, and domestic competition quality, but that's always the same problem we've faced for decades because they still not doing their job as a football stakeholders. Even though Erick Thohir promised that he and his crews in PSSI will fix our youth development and domestic competitions, but he's still a politician and a bussinessman even though he has footballing background too. Just like what people always said to never 100% trust the sweet words come from politician's mouth. I appreciate what he done for our national team with this project, but I won't ever fully trust him at least untill he do something to our youth development system and the domestic competitions. I didn't want our current rise ended as a mirage in the middle of a dry desert.
You can't fix the grassroot problem in short term, its a long term project im talking about minimum 10 years but realistically 15 years. Grassroot players needs to start at am early age. Look at japan, the standard at junior level is super high.indonesia has a lot of work
basically we do not lack talent. for example Giovanni van Bronckhorst who has pure Indonesian Maluku blood. Only lack of modern programs at the grass root. Even in this bad situation, we still produce talents like Rizky Ridho and Marselino Ferdinand. Two of them are first team players who gain their spots among the diaspora who play in Europe. Imagine when we finally work on our grass root program, how much talent we could produce.
The thing is this can only be a transitionary project. The pool of mixed-race Dutch players is getting smaller each year. You need at least one grandparent of Indonesian nationality. There was big wave of Indo migration to Holland post-Independence. And there's been smaller waves of refugees from Maluku etc. Eventually Thorir is gonna run out of Dutch-Indonesians. So that's why it's important to use this talent for local players/institutions to piggyback on.
The fact is that there are 300,000 people with Indonesian passports currently living in the Netherlands. In my opinion it will not decrease, in fact they will increase their motivation to become football players. If you look at the recent decline in the European economy, the future will be better in Asia. In Europe they are nobody, in Indonesia they can be legendary athletes or public figures. They are superstars in Indonesia.😂
@@hajibolot2245 It's really worth it. Even if you have to sacrifice your European passport. Pride and money can all be earned. If you only rely on the salaries of mediocre European players, it's not much.

Respect, I think this is the most fair view on Indonesia football future. Certainly, We need Erick Thohir to lead the transformation of national football team and build strong good fondation on the domestic league. If this can proceed, next 10 yrs, the Indonesia football will paint the world football.

Hi, thank you for your review about Indonesia's football. Anyway, the music is quite loud and distracting, I couldn't hear your voice clearly. Great documentation. Cheers..
Mr. Erick Tohir has the ambition and experience of managing clubs abroad, apart from Inter Milan and DC United. He is also the owner of Oxford United, so the Indonesian people support his leadership in PSSI,And he targets that Indonesia will be ranked 15th in the world in 2045.
The same is now happening with Curacao. The Dutch coach Dick Advocaat (former coach: Oranje, PSV, Rangers, Feyenoord, Borussia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Zenit, Sunderland, Belgium, Fenerbahce, etc.) has all brought players from the Netherlands with a Curacao background. Curacao is now successful and can qualify for the Nations League in South America for the first time. And then Suriname, here is Stanley Menzo, former Ajax goalkeeper the new coach. Menzo has also brought players of Surinamese descent from the Netherlands. The Moroccan team was successful at the 2022 World Cup. Half of the Moroccan players came from the Netherlands and France. In fact, in the Moroccan team, there was only one player who was born in Morocco itself. The Netherlands also does this with baseball. For example, most baseball players come from the Dutch Caribbean, and most of them play in the American MLS. The Dutch baseball team has been the best in Europe for four decades and even won the Baseball World Cup once.
Diaspora players in the senior Indonesian national football team have become a benchmark for local junior U17, U20, and U23 football players. Local junior players must have the same skills and achievements as their seniors. That's how Indonesian football achievements work today. The Indonesian U23 junior national team has successfully reached the semifinals of the 2024 Asian Cup. And later, fans are waiting for the achievements of the Indonesian U17 and U20 junior national teams in the 2025 Asian Cup.

Indeed. Indonesia only have 3-4 years next to call their linked blood for their national team. After 5 years next from now, it's gonna be harder to find a diaspora
INDONESIA RAYA.. INSYAALLAH.. allahumma sholli a'la Muhammad wa a'la ali Muhammad
Children in Indonesia need a hero first. Even though many of the national team players were not born in Indonesia, but our culture and people can accept them as part of Indonesia.

Grassroots? 😂 You totally don't know and don't understand how terrible it is our football at the grassroot level😂 Mafia still there, match fixing , terrible young academy and its system etc etc. We only choose footballers who have true Indonesian blood lines from their ancestors 😊 Its cost NOTHING because they are the part of us ❤
As long as it is legal & in accordance with FIFA rules, then all countries have the right to do it. don't worry PSSI also works for the development of young players, it's just not exposed by the media, you could say the media is only interested in the Indonesian national team, that's why news about the development of young Indonesian players is almost unheard of. PSSI chairman, Erick Thohir, former president of inter & has several clubs abroad knows better what to do than just a football observer.
It isn’t easy job to build football ecosystem from grassroots because it requires all sectors to help in financial and structural development. The thing that Indonesian football federation is best thing to do to make private sector want to help in financial as sponsor in sustainable football development such as football academy, junior competitions, and local football league. Indonesian Dutch blood players also changes our mindset and target a far ahead as a national team
Nothing wrong with naturalisation, I repeat nothing wrong with it, especially when they were a descendant from the previous Indonesian native who went a broad and marry people from another country..france was doing it so many times, in fact they were not even a descendant from someone from france, they were just afrikans people but got admitted to the france nationality..
To put it simple, Indonesia has lost their way from the old leaders... If you lost your way, you need someone as your guide to know where you want to go, and after that you could walk on your own Indonesia did that, with many naturalization from dutch... The youngsters of Indonesian could see the best example directly, the player that got nurtured in the best football region So in short term, they will gain from naturalization In long term, they also will gain from the grassroots that got nurtured The main problem is, If Indonesia could keep the gear running and reformed the youth facilities or not Which is I hope it could
Naturalization is all about setting a standard for the Indonesian national team-like saying, "If you wanna play for the national team, this is the minimum standard you need to meet." After the WC26 qualifications, Mr. Erick Thohir will start the grassroots project, and level up the Indonesian league to make it one of the top 5 in Southeast Asia and the top 15 in Asia. Some stakeholders are already working on developing future players. A bunch of young talents have been sent to the Qatar Football Academy, Portugal, and England (Garuda Select), and more are on the way. Plus, FIFA really wants to help grow Indonesian football-they’ve even set up their Southeast Asia HQ office in Jakarta!
I think somewhere along the line ET has already addressed your concern by acknowledging that we need to improve our home infrastructure and education. Marselino and Rizky Ridho are two exceptional examples that great talents could emerge from this (you called) "grassroot". The recent changes are... recent. It's less than a decade; so we all have to exercise patience. It's a feat to replace the once so corrupted system with a new, rational one based on hard work and merit. Rebuilding it started from there, one step at a time. As for your concern, it takes two to tango man. Those diaspora players are just getting to know their new (unique, distant) locality. They're still processing what it means to embrace the identity of being Indonesian with all its peculiar, distinct, special football culture it's too early to conclude, let alone judge. The (cultural) process has just started. And I am excited!
Tidak peduli mereka lahir di Negara mana. Darah mereka merah keturunan dengan DNA Indonesia asli, tulang mereka putih setulus niat mereka membuat bangga orang tua, keluarga dan Negara Indonesia. My mic had a bit of a meltdown during the recording of this video. I had to record the narration twice and the quality was still bad. The only solution in the end was to reduce the voice over audio. Anyway, long story short. I need a new Mic. Thanks for watching!
Grassroots are okay, all level groups of player (U17, U20, U23, Senior) are qualifiy to compete in Asian Level (which are history). Indonesia won gold medal SEA Games in football, Indonesia won 1st place in ASEAN U19 Boys Championship, U23 of Indonesia for the first time reached ASIAN CUP Semifinal (all are history, again history). Now Indonesia has larger pool of talents, Grassroots and Diasporas. Good Job Indonesia.
But, the Indonesian U17 and U20 teams are doing well and managed to qualify for the final rounds of the Asian Cup with the squad largely composed of players playing in Indonesia and product of Indonesian clubs’ academy. The hope of better grassroots level development is there and still has an enormous potentials. This is the thing that many media often overlooked, too focus talking about the Indonesian diaspora players in the senior team.
Football mafia just straight up fucked the grasroot and youth in the 2000's until 2010"s, my best friend was one of the victim when he got asked for some amount of money just to join a team back then, man shit was fucked up, my best friend was a crazy good defender but sadly have to leave his dream behind because of mafia.
First of all, you correctly pronounced every names in the video, when some find it hard to pronounce Indonesian names. Second of all, you're entirely correct. The next 10 years is key. Erick Thohir indeed seem to not prioritizing the nation's future - the Indonesian leagues are still messy, and the women's national team receives little-to-no attention whatsoever; hell, there's no women's league at all for 5 years after the first year - yet he chose the "easier" path, by naturalizing tons of players. Indonesian players are insanely gifted players that are playing in a super underdeveloped leagues, they don't have the facilities to be nurtured to become a great Indonesian players of other countries' descent that are playing abroad. The next 10 years really is the key. The next 2 years is Erick Thohir's last chance to correct everything, not only the men's national team. There will be another election in 2026, I believe, and he has yet to prove he cares about the whole of football in Indonesia; he has only focused on how to make the men's national team a threat, while abandoning the rest.
i think indonesia already invested in its youth, still no sustainable system though, you should get more researcch mister journalist, because albeit very early stage of investment, all youth teams of indonesia already qualify for asian cup for each group aged that is and all of them still has chance to be in world cup of their age
PSSI under Erick Thohir has recently decided to make a fourth tier league called Liga 4. It is competed only by players within the age range of 18-22, it's a good first step into grassroots football. Hopefully there could be established leagues for the age group of under 9s to under 21s in the future.
Grassroot players once filled our squad not long ago and they took us nowhere near where we are rn. Clubs need to fix their problems from the bottom up until we got promising local graduates who can compete with the europeans. Our football has been held hostage by politics since the beginning. Hell even our national police force & army have their own clubs competing in the national league, and not to mention the naming of the competitions outside of it reeks politics. We really need to get rid of politics, corruption, collusion & nepotism in our sporting world before we properly develop our talents and i don't think it's possible at all
It's easy to say "we need to develop young players", but to really do it, you need to see the obstacles first. Financial, infrastructures, geographical challenges.
Thats fact of modern football.. you can named many other country as indonesian do.. even in europe... Football is become Industry, thats why we PSSI make a short, med, and long term plan.. we refuse to become a "Supporter" many decade on WC to support other nation.. We got huge market, we want convert to gain our national team..
Indonesia's biggest issue, for me, is their emotional implosion. They tend to be unable to control their behaviour when they achieved major wins at some points. I often observe it when I used to visit Indonesia (I am Chechen-Swedish). Multiple occasions, their national team often falters very quickly after early triumphs. If they cannot control it, it shall backfire on them hard.

If we talk about grassroots we don't even started cause lack of finance and human resources we don't have football system at all like european and profecional footballer in here above 1 milion even tho we have 270 milion population. Fyi
We still need to be lead by Example, and if the main Head are Clear and can set the standard, we hope the others will follow, so we (most of Indonesian) hope it will work, the Top to Bottom improvement.
We have domestic talents. But our environment does not support that to happen. There are many reasons that are difficult to explain for me who is just an ordinary national team supporter. PSSI has always made me sick of football because they always create scandals such as dualism and the unresolved deaths of 135+ people in Kanjuruhan. But at least there has been movement since Erick Thohir became chairman. Indeed, some say this is illegal or instant, as long as it does not violate FIFA rules, then I think other countries can follow what we do. The national team is good, the league is heading in a good direction, youth development is still difficult but we continue to try.
Actually Indonesia try to copying the success of "Milkshake Morocco". Mix of local player and mixblood/halfblood/heritage player. I think recruiting heritage player should be continue until FIFA delete the regulation. So, as long as the regulation still exists, Indonesia should do that, because i see more benefit. They can be a benchmark for local player and make local player try harder to compete in the team. Cause bro, competition is everywhere in this life.
In the Asian cup, indonesia featured 8 players that were born outside of the country… at the Asian cup U23 (where the team made the semi-final and was 1 game away from qualifying to the Olympics) the team was made up of practically all indonesian born talent. My point is: yes, the future certainly skews towards naturalized talent to boost senior team performances - but to say that we are incurring the costs of a “short-term” project is far from true. In arguably our most important win just a few days ago, the key goalscorer (with a brace might I add) was Marselino Ferdinan - a 100% Indonesian-born talent who rose up the ranks at Persebaya before NOW plying his trade in the UK. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out that there’s an element of short sighted play here… but to say that the youth aren’t benefiting from the program, lacks a little depth in research. Great video and still valid points, but I do feel we’re jumping to add cynicism to this great rise because it happened “too quick” by football standards. +point African nations have been doing this forever and I don’t see the diaspora naturalized topic ever brought up in these cases.
erick thohir and coach shin take mostly young player, some of the older player are the exception coz they are a regular player in european top league, so for the next 10 years we are still confident with the progress, erick thohir fixing thing from the top to bottom, after the national team he start to fix the league slowly, start from implementing var to reduce referee mistakes, and he starting to improving the coaching situation with subsidies for taking coaching license so indonesia have more quality coach hoping they can nurture a better player, and they tried to copy the dutch on the junior competition and localizing the scout to every region and the region scouted team will play a nation wide competion so it will be easier for the national team scouting, erick thohir already did all of that to make sure the grassroot player can improve and also have a fair chance to represent the country, its definitely a very long project and cant be done in his term so i hope whoever his successor later have the same passion in football as erick thohir and can make indonesian football rise just like what japan did in the 90 when they start laying the foundation and we can see their result now
One big key issue to understand is that Indonesia has historically struggled to control their emotion. Their football team, if win something big, will boast like they are King, and this has undeniably caused Indonesia's catastrophe in multiple occasions. They have recently beaten Saudi Arabia 2-0, and it is no doubt, a great triumph. But when their media proclaimed they are "better" than Argentina, you should not expect Indonesia to advance with that kind of attitude.
The thing is, we've joked "King Indo" like a long time ago. When we were drawn against Japan in the Asian cup, our people said things like "Japan, do you want to go home yourself or do you want us to send you home" to the point that Japanese media picked it up as a news. We know damn well we're gonna get cooked lmao
"no nation can choose its past, but they can choose their future " 🤝🏻🖤
Fingers crossed they make it to 2026 World Cup ❤️🇮🇩 the whole world is rooting for you Indonesia

If you talkin about Grassroots, Football Mafia has destroy all Grassroots since " Dark Era " of Indonesian Football. A lot of my Bestfriend's also became a victim ( who also eyewitness ) of what Football Mafia do since joined Academy.
Now, Erick Thohir ( Former President of Inter Milan, who saved the club from Bankruptcy, who became a Chairman of Indonesian Football Federation, today ) do a two type of Football Project:
First, Short Term Project which is we called back our people's, who are Talented Diaspora / Halfblood Indonesian Football player on every country in the world.
Even on Local Football Club Trial, you can see what Football Mafia Does, they bring Grade F player who played so bad ( like, they didn't know how to do Passing and even Dribbling )
But, that Football Mafia do his work on Club Office and... you know... Negotiation Time. And can you guess ? Those Bad Players got Accepted, while talented players didn't made it, because of them ( Football Mafia )
Now, Mr Erick Thohir alongside with Ms Ratu Tisha ( Vice Chairman Of Indonesian Football Federation ) try to Rebuild the Grassroots step by step, slowly but sure and also DETAIL.
To avoid Football Mafia Sabotage, because the Mafia also tried to destroy the Indonesian Football " Reformation " by called out and give some sh**ty unknown misinformation about what they do on TV Or Podcast ( some of them got a Boss who also a friend of some Big Media Boss, propaganda agenda stuff... )
And even do Racism to Halfblood player for unbelieveble reason, just because their Skin Colors, how they speak ( since they're born outside Indonesia, some of them talk in English, half English Half Indonesian, and some of them can talk in Indonesian ) and you know what ? Some Football Mafia even payed Internet Buzzer since long time ago to Attack their Family and even the player's self... which is... HORRIBLE
I Swear to god, someone need to do Vigilante ( Catch all Football Mafia and their biggest Boss who destroy Indonesian Football for their Agenda )
Best part in all of this is Erick Thohir is also a part of an Indonesian mafia. The mulyono mafia.
This explanation is perfect, I want foreigners to see from another perspective about the Indonesian football project, so that they don't only see from the front, but also from other directions.

Are they actually indonesian or just like the main team, a bunch of Dutch that weren't good enough to play for Netherlands?
@@fresagrus4490 yeah like mbape... he is white rigth? of course he white, he france...

Success was never going to be an overnight thing. Think the big picture, dude.
@@Kawaga-uc4qqat least we improve the game, you will see it in 5 years ahead
Morroco did the exact thing and went on to the world cup semifinal, im not overhyping indonesia, but its good to see that a lot of Indonesians still has that belief of the "garuda" becoming one of the best in the world and doesn't blame the players when they lost, for example when then lose to Japan all of Indonesia players gather and sing a song together with their fans, which is a good thing 👍
MANTAP BETUL ❤
In 2018 FIFA World Cup, about 90% of Morocco squad is naturalised players or foreign born
@@DYTIIIthe development of Indonesian football has 3 categories :
Short terms, Medium terms, and long terms.

I think for 10 years bright
For first time u17 u20 u23 qualified to asia cup

I just hope that the development of Indonesian football can go according to what they have planned.
this the greates Progress from Erick Tohir , can bring Indonesian Football in the right Place... salute ...in my pleassure
Being born with mixed blood - Dutch and Indonesian - is given that none of these footbalers could choose their anchestor
They're actually blessed for having two national identities by their DNA
Culturally, both Dutch and Indonesian are an opposite polar one to another, they are totally different characteristically - while the Indonesians have so much dream, passion, spirit, heart and emotion toward football, as well as talents in grassroots, the Dutch (or European) knows how to manage football industry profesionally, with much better system, management, and projection for the future
so the two nations (Netherlands and Indonesia) can actually build closer-friendship with mutual benefits in every aspect diplomatically, despite their bitter history in the past - and these naturalized players are are now bridging both nations to reach that close-relations, and making peace of the past for better future
85-90% of mixed dutch-indo, dont care about indonesian roots. They would rather live in Netherlands and have a dutch passport
@@emikomina Yeah to be honest as an Indonesian, if i have a dutch-Indo blood, i would still prefer having my NL passport tbh

This project is best for short-term to give Indonesian Kids hope and dreams but in the long-term we must have a solid foundation to our football pattern. Indonesia is not like South Korea or Japan we have different characteristics, we must take a very long journey...😊

@@DYTIII Fair enough
Look at japan, the standard at junior level is super high.indonesia has a lot of work
I am sure that Indonesia will move forward in the future. They're going to the World Cup

basically we do not lack talent. for example Giovanni van Bronckhorst who has pure Indonesian Maluku blood.
Actually, the Indonesian squad in the last Asian Cup only consisted 8 foreign-born players (7 diaspora) out of 26 ...
Yes this is only short term, there is long term plan on going
The fact is that there are 300,000 people with Indonesian passports currently living in the Netherlands. In my opinion it will not decrease, in fact they will increase their motivation to become football players. If you look at the recent decline in the European economy, the future will be better in Asia. In Europe they are nobody, in Indonesia they can be legendary athletes or public figures. They are superstars in Indonesia.😂

To put it simple, Indonesia has lost their way from the old leaders...
If you lost your way, you need someone as your guide to know where you want to go, and after that you could walk on your own
Indonesia did that,
with many naturalization from dutch... The youngsters of Indonesian could see the best example directly, the player that got nurtured in the best football region
So in short term, they will gain from naturalization
In long term, they also will gain from the grassroots that got nurtured
The main problem is, If Indonesia could keep the gear running and reformed the youth facilities or not
Which is I hope it could
Naturalization is all about setting a standard for the Indonesian national team-like saying, "If you wanna play for the national team, this is the minimum standard you need to meet."
After the WC26 qualifications, Mr.

I think you forgot Ratu Tisha and Shin Tae Yong in this revolution..
Grasroot program in Indonesian football is now in progress, thanks to Mr Erick Thohir
Then: Dutch East Indies
Now: Dutch Mixed Indos
I N D O N E S I A ❤
i think indonesia already invested in its youth, still no sustainable system though, you should get more researcch mister journalist, because albeit very early stage of investment, all youth teams of indonesia already qualify for asian cup for each group aged that is and all of them still has chance to be in world cup of their age
Dont forget the birocracy
Thats fact of modern football.. you can named many other country as indonesian do.. even in europe...
Football is become Industry, thats why we PSSI make a short, med, and long term plan.. we refuse to become a "Supporter" many decade on WC to support other nation..
We got huge market, we want convert to gain our national team..
iwan bule is the one who started this diaspora program. not erick thohir
Garuda team has 300 million soldiers fans
If Indonesia doesn't make it via automatic qualification, I'm confident they will get through the lethal final phases.
RENAISANCE GARUDA INDONESIA.
Many African teams are also relying on their foreign born players, such as Morocco.
🎉🎉🎉
😅😅😅 ,indonesia garis lucu
Indonesia's biggest issue, for me, is their emotional implosion. They tend to be unable to control their behaviour when they achieved major wins at some points. I often observe it when I used to visit Indonesia (I am Chechen-Swedish).
Multiple occasions, their national team often falters very quickly after early triumphs. If they cannot control it, it shall backfire on them hard.
@@sclips4122 Mashallah my friend, as a Muslim, I cheer for Indonesia, but I would prefer Indonesia to keep a humble face.
You are acting like you just beat Argentina. It's too much.
indonesia memang berlebihan
Hopefully Indonesia makes it to the 2026 World Cup. Can you also do a video on Uzbekistan Men's National Football Team as well?
All good bro.
No , that's a joke
The thing is, we've joked "King Indo" like a long time ago.
When we were drawn against Japan in the Asian cup, our people said things like "Japan, do you want to go home yourself or do you want us to send you home" to the point that Japanese media picked it up as a news. We know damn well we're gonna get cooked lmao
Pretty sure it just a meme, but knowing the average Indonesian, a lot of them may unironically believe it...
😅😅..indonesian peoples are kind..how can you talk about attitude?..no you just hater😅
