Hello informative presentation. I am fortunate to have received the Px8 over the holiday. So far I’ve listened via BT, cable connection with the preamp, and best has been usb-c to usb-c cable connection to iPad mini. Listening to Qobuz HiRes content. For some reason I came across the notion of introducing a portable DAC/amp to the Px8 and iPad mini setup. I’ve heard the suggestion that the staging could be enhance etc . Portability could be a little cumbersome though. Another statement advised that the Px8 would automatically bypass the portable DAC rendering it useless. Anyone know the truth about whether a portable DAC when the usb-c cable is used, would have impact on the sound quality? Setting aside that the idea of considering this is nuts, but I am curious.

I agree with Reem.I Had h95 before. It never sounded bright to my ears. If anything, it was just tiny little dark. I had an issue with its bluetooth connection. Replaced it with h100, which has amazing instruments separation , and bring out the background music in such a beautiful way in the classical music. It is even more dreamy and emotional sound than h95. Tones are very realistic to me so much so that I had to buy it. However, in my opinion, for modern genre h95 and sennheiser momentum 4 (similar sound to h95) would be equally good if not better than h100. for classical music, h100 is in a next level to me. One big negative about h100 is its weight (375g). Comfortable on ears but painful on the head. As for px8, Never tried them but a musician Mathias johnson has video comparing it with h95. Es klingt wirklich so, als wäre da ein Abstand zwischen mir und der Musik… Die klingen ansonsten sehr gut aber es fehlt tatsächlich an den Höhen… Mich würde es sehr interessieren, ob ihr demnächst die neuen B&O H100 mal testen könnt… Liebe Grüße und macht weiter so! 🙏🏽

This is by far the most trustworthy review channel on TH-cam. Please, please, please review the Mark Levinson 5909. I am debating between getting them or one of the two headphones reviewed in this video. Your reactions and opinions would undoubtedly finalize my decision.

recently got he Pi8 and the instantly replaced my apple pro 2 ...and I have the apple Pro Max...and now thinking about the PX8 ...de difference in terms of sound is so wow.....and the option to plugin the usbc (via the case) and get direct sound is a game changer at least for me...

Having owned both rhe px8 are superior in every detail , sound is subjective however

PX8 is too bassy and Bowers app doesn’t provide a EQ feature. H95 definitely performs better audio wise but is too uncomfortable.

I own them both! 😎 All two phenomenal and incredible headsets. The best wireless gear there is. Btw the h95 still come at 999€ in luxemburg. :D worth it though even after all these years

For me, my personal taste and the genre of music I'm all in the Px8s. I tried the H95s and they aren't for me. Also having the built in DAC on the B&W is great for listening Lossless via USB-C.

Now there is a big sale on Px8 (also on Bowers Px7 S2/S2e). Currently, Px8s retail for around $415, making them a best-buy. Just buy, don't ask. (unless the headband falls apart quickly:)) I have a feeling that Bowers&Wilkins is preparing something new flagship like "Px9".

Great Video! For all those who live here in Germany or can have them sent from Germany without any problems, the PX8 are currently available for around 330€ (at least the Black ones), the best time to grab them.

Thank you both for bring this review to us. I have had the experience of owning both headphones. I have also owned all of Bowers & Wilkins headphones. Currently, my current P7 Wireless is really good sounding headphones and after all this years with robust use it keeps getting better in sound. When I first listened to the B&W PX8, I noticed a “body” sound different to what I am used to with B&W. After a few hrs of “burning in” the sound is getting better by the day. 500hrs recommended “burn in” time is required for the sound to shine through considering the driver is carbon as well. I have personally had the conversation with B&W Technical team. One thing to was mentioned was that they had to strive a balance with ANC to prioritise SQ. In addition, in my experience with other premium headphones I own, such as Focal Baths, Sony XM4, XM5, etc. I have spent significant time EQ’ing rather than listening and enjoying my music. With regards to the sound leak, I find with all the fleet of headphones, if the fitment isn’t on properly at higher volumes you get some sound leak. However, with a good enclosure notice there is no sound leak on the B&W at all which is awesome. In the UK now you can get the PX8 for £399 which is awesome! I must say with the PX8 connected using the USB C (End to End) the sound is amazing! What I find is that Px8 out of the box needs to play louder to enjoy the dynamics of the sound. I haven´t tried the PX8, but a friend let me borrow his H95 for a couple of days and fell in love, just an amazing set of headphones. But our of my budget lol. So I went with the Airpods Max and they are still pretty good, but not amazing as the B&O

At 3.24 you state that with the USB C cable supplied with the PX8 you can listen up to 24bit 192khz at then you state they are limited to 24bit 48khz and only the Focals can reach hires. Which is true?

My iPhone 16 pro max not working with USB c on Bower wilkins px8. I dont know why.

I came for the review on B&W, loved to see a fellow Berliner. I recently got my PX7 S2e and would love to use them wired with usb-c for Apple Music lossless. The issue is I have an iPhone 14pro and I can't really find a usb female to lightning male cable. My question is- is the 24 bit high res audio available only through usb-c or through included 3.5 cable as well?

Terrific review. Great video production, I liked the segments with your musician friend, and your assessment of the Heddphone 2 is (IMO) spot on. I've heard the GT as well. For the "audiophile" (or enthusiast) listener, I think the GT actually is a small improvement in every way. There is a little less clamping force from the carbon arc, and there is no "crinkly" sound from the driver, which is remarkable, as it supposedly was something endemic to AMT drivers. (I didn't find it a big deal with the H2 (OG), but it's great that it's gone.) The tuning of the GT is as your describe -- a bit more warmth and bass, and some more sparkle: for enjoyment rather than analytics. Hopefully you continue to review high-end audio gear. I'll be following, cheers

I think it's funny how you can find "Designed for Apple" label on B&W products, while Apple / iPhone doesn't support anything offered by these phones (aptX / aptX HD / aptX Adaptive) but the AAC codec.
