This is a great comparison video. Think the guest host is very unbiased in her opinions about the two headphones. I think it helps me make my final decision on which headphones I want to get.
I've finally got my XM5 (for 359.99 euros), and i'm loving it, so light, so comfortable, I'm using LDAC so I can get the best sound quality, and very important I can use the equalizer to my preference. I do have a pair of AirPods Max, but the trouble is that I live in Portugal, and here the temperatures can reach 109º Fahrenheit in the summer, I started to have a condensation problem on my AirPods Max, and with just a few minutes on my ears, finally after 2 months the condensation build on the drivers made it fail on the right cup, so I returned the AirPods Max, waiting for them to arrive from Apple repair service and as soon as they arrive I will sell them online. Apple please learn with other brands, going for stainless steel and aluminium is a wrong move, and that's why most of the brands go for plastic or composite materials. The Apple ones are very heavy and bulky, and like me, many people complaining about Apple AirMax, having condensation build up inside the cups and on the drivers too, making them fail over time, and thats because aluminium dissipates heat better, the difference in temperature creates condensation, and they are not water proof.
Thank you so much for the detailed and informed addition. Wish you a wonderful time with the XM5. We are preparing a review of the new Bowers & Wilkins PX7 2. Hopefully we will compare it with the XM5. Wait for that :)
I broke down and got the new Sony’s also have the previous model. However I find daily I reach for my bose qc 45 which sound great and sennheiser momentum 3. Which fav to jam out too.
Nice review, however I found myself wanting to know more about the technical specs than how sustainable or recyclable it is. I honestly didn't care so much about that. What is more important to me is how the noise cancellation is compared to other headphones and particularly how it handles noise cancelation in noisy environments while having a phone call.
Sony isn't imitating Apple's design. Really. They look so different. It's just the adjustment of the headband that are similar. The look of the headphones themselves are so different. Airpods Max's cups look like a giant Apple watch. WH-1000XM5 looks undeniably Sony with that stadium-like design and they don't feel cheap. Just because it's not made of metal means it's cheap. They are headphones. They need to be lightweight to be worn comfortably for long periods of times. And I agree with You Kim's assessment on sound.
I have the Beoplay h95 and so a year later I get ear fatigue. While it is the most detailed headphone i heard for me, metalic like sound signature i do want a powerful sound or warm sound and I loved the XM4 from a sibling. I'm getting the Sennheiser Momentum 4 when they come out. So i get two choices what i want for the day.
Hello Alvin, “accurate” here is highly subjective. That’s why we go the extra length to explain what we mean by that. Of course, this will differ from person to person.
@@CarefulOptimist Right. It's subjective. But I think the only person who can describe a certain music as accurate is the studio sound engineer that recorded and mixed that certain track.
Sorry but these were not inspired by the Airpods Max,. Sony has had the WH 1000 XM range before Apple existed in the headphones space. Sony has been making these since 2017 Ie XM2 release.
Time for you guys to move on from Airpods Max. They don't do nothing for people who aren't locked into the Apple ecosystem [which I make a point of not falling into having a pc, an M1 Pro, an Google Pixel and a Linux laptop] esp when the majority of the world over 70 percent are on Android phones and other ecosystems. Also you guys need to really increase the output of videos, one vid every 2-3 months is on the very low side if you wanna have a sustainable presence on YTB. Not to mention bring out more reviews on other proper high end headphones like the PX 7 S2, the Edifier STAX Spirit 3, the Mark Levinson No.5909 etc
Now THIS is the comparison I was waiting for!

Why is that? Sony XM5 still not there for you?

A comparison that I would love to see is Airpods Max vs B&W PX7 S2
Oh wow! We didn’t even know there was an S2 out! Thanks for mentioning that. We will surely review that next!
Definitely looking forward to this!
Please Compare Review Bose 700 vs Sennheiser Momentum vs Sony XM5 Vs Airpods Max..
Nailed It - Nailed It - Nailed It!!

What about Sony vs Technics vs Airpods Max?
It bothers me when people talk about accurate sound. How do you know that a certain device is playing music accurately?

Why dont you have 10 million subs yet?!
We are getting there, slow but steady. Thanks so much for what I believe to be a compliment.

I speak of the headband mechanism.

That would require thinking out of the box. Channel is too fixated on Apple.
“Moist bass”?? GMFU 😂😂😂😂
