Finally ! The review that I was desperately waiting for as I own both the anniversary edition Goldtone H95 and the Gray Airpod Max like Emeka I just could not make up my mind so I decided to go for both and chalk it up to investment Thank you Emeka and Reem, for a quite litteraly a superlative job you guys didn't just knock it out of the park you knocked it out of the stadium by a mile. Thank you for taking the time to patiently explaining and sharing your personal experiences views and prespectives in an every day scenario while giving your genuine and unbiased opinion on each headphone form vs function all the way to sound quality and ANC in two products that are so evenly matched even to their respective supplementary applications specially the beosonic app for h95 and the fact that even the sound stage is adjustable by pinching up or down the circle in their equaliser menu which I initially struggled to understand for the longest time as this feature is only enabled on some B&O products that support it and not available on all B&O products that are using the same app for example the B&O wireless ear buds E8 series using the same app. does not support the sound stage adjustment As being B&O fan I have a number of products that are using this same app and could never understand the reason behind this. The extent of detail you and Reem covered in this segment while making this review particularity sharing your genuine honest opinion based on what you personal experience and how you arrived at your final conclusion has made this review far more engaging and interesting to watch and something that has never been attempted before in any other similar reviews. Dear Anarkan, thank you soooo much for the comprehensive yet so kind comment. We appreciate even more as it is clear that you speak from experience given that you own the two headphones. I was almost tempted to keep both of them. But as a beginner reviewer, I should already learn to suppress such urges because it will pile up! Also, let me say that you generous comment has earned a place on our “pinned comment”. And yes, Reem and I are coming back for more videos! Much love from Emeka.
I second everything Emeka said - thank you for your thoughtful comment and your attentiveness with the video. I’m slightly jealous you have both ;) thanks again for the encouragement and there will be more to come!
This is the absolute best APM review/comparison I have seen. The emotion, the cinematography, the amount of polish and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to produce this beautiful video!
Discovering this channel yesterday injected my brain, like a liter of dopamine, I just can’t believe the production of this video, you guys are huge and thinking you are only beginning? I’ve never been this surprised with a TH-cam channel, the quality is ridiculous, btw bring the lady in again!! You are like the technical side of the channel and she is more emotional, that is perfect balance!! What a great video!!
That was my experience as well. Do you want to have the best sound quality? Yes? Then buy the Beoplay H95. Is fit the most important for you and want to have tons of practicability? Go with the Apple. However in this case have a look at the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 as well. You'll like it.
I've been using the AirPods Max for 1 year now and just ordered the B&O H95. For home use, I regularly run the Focal Clear MG Pro, Drop x THX Panda, Audeze LCD-2 Classic. The AirPods Max sound relatively fine, but they're sibilant to my ears. I'm treble sensitive, but I can tolerate the AirPods Max. What I just can't get past is the tight clamp that never let up after a year of use/leaving it on a foam block to loosen up (I'm a tiny 4'9" woman with a small head so I'm shocked when larger people say that the AirPods Max are comfortable), and the headphones resetting themselves every few months along not being able to force a firmware update/the firmware updates not having release notes. Heard great things about the B&O H95, so hopefully it'll be worth it.
I was choosing between two and almost bought APM after watching this video. After all, I'm happy with everything Apple in my house, why headphones should be different. But after testing AirPods Max sound quality, they didn't feel like an upgrade from my oldies QC35. Sound was dimmed, no stage presence, sound was muffled, overall very comparable to Sony XM4. I was surprised to the point I asked for second pair, unfortunately, it was exactly the same. But B&O H95s are in different league entirely. Bass, control, clarity, stage, separation, literally everything is much better than in APM. When it comes to sound quality they're not comparable, not in the same league. What surprised me most was the scale of the difference. It is not minor, you don't need to compare extensively to notice it. Impression I got was B&O had complete package and others lacked in different areas and you can only tell where after listening to music with B&O. You then realize "there should be this detail which is missing", "the punch here is not happening" or "vocals should be clearer and vibrato should be here ". You can only tell because B&O has it all and it is pretty addictive to have it all in one package. It almost feels like there are two categories: "B&O" and "everyone else". I got to admit APM, Bose and Sony all have better noise cancellation, B&O is not bad but noticeably lagging. I wanted to get APM but got B&O in the end.

@@markpaulson1346 I LOVE them! But! The first week was scary. Let me explain. Wow what a review. Thank you for that. I enjoyed it so much and gave me all the Information I needed. The best was the sound and listening experience with tears, this nailed it.
I agree you and Reem knocked the sound at the park and Reem was masterful I really enjoyed her and you with Rheem this review was something like I’ve never seen before in my life very engaging great fun but extremely informative thank you so much I will be most likely keeping my H 95s
Thank you for this great review. I loved the cinematics and the chemistry between you two, a great duo and a really comprehensive review. I bought the AirPods Max but had to return them, because the just would not sit good on my head. The sound however was amazing. I wish these were just a little bit lighter. I have now ordered the H95, let’s see how that goes!
How did you find the H95 compared to the APM? I have a pair of H95 on the way that I managed to get for $315USD after taxes so I'm pretty excited for them to show up and accompany me on some travelling. I got the APM for my fiancée and she loves them for PC gaming and with her apple devices. I use Android so I'm thinking the H95 would be better suited for me as I'm more about the sound than transparency or ANC.
@@bronsoncjmjyeah, the big reason of me returning the H95 is because Apple came up with the Airpod Max after i got the H95 and i know that the Airpod Max would be up there and CHEAPER. i do like the H95 sound better but Airpod Max does save a few hundred bucks. so if you can get the H95 cheaper, keep it.
Funniest part is that am listening to this through my beoplay h8 and the part where the sound kicks in when the background music you guys where dancing started is what I really enjoyed
You two are absolutely amazing! What a pleasantly informative video! Listened to this using my brand new AirPod Max headphones! Feeling totally justified! 🎼💫
Impressively in-depth, yet crystal clear, entertaining and esthetically pleasing review, guys! Thank you so much and best of luck with developing the channel.
If the B&O would fix that ANC dial, add a sensor so that they would stop when taking them off and allow for the battery to be replaced easily this would be worth the money. Otherwise it is highly overpriced. There should be no room for error or mishap at this price range. They also need to increase the surface of that play / pause tactile area. I really like the fact that the wheel that adjusts the volume and the ANC is not on the outside (where it would have easily been accidentally operated) but in the middle surrounding the earcup.
The same as other bluetooth 5.1 - I´m afraid. You can use jackstick to get rid of any latency. You can play games with them without the jackstick, but it really depends on your platform, gametype and temper. PC fps games like CS requires jackstick, but for casual games (or consol ports) like fx Tomb Raider, Valheim, RocketLeague the bluetooth is fine.
BEOPLAY H95 is not louder? I tryed momentum 3-4 xm3-4-5 and all of them event max volume are weak for me? I'm looking louder wireless over ear headphone.
i had both (returned the H95s). I love B&O and rooted for them to be better but they are not IMO. H95's transparency mode is ok, but not loud enough for me. LIke the host here said (she could not tell if it was on) this was the same for me. Same with NC. Makes no sense to have a dial for Transparency mode or NC IMO. on/off makes sense. Love the h95 dial on volume but Airpods Max have a dial to. Overall the Airpods Max are more comfortable (slightly) and sound more lively and have amazing features. We don't even get into the Apple expanded features like spatial audio, amazing siri integration, texts / call notifications. Truly seamless change between devices etc. Great, great product.
You nailed it! H95 is good but B & O need to up their game in user experience. That’s where they will discourage people from buying their headphones especially for the price.
nice review..if you compare overall performance and features in Beoplay H95/ Airpods MAx/Sony XM5/Sennheiser Momentum 4/Bose 700/Bowers and Wilkins Px7s2 or Px8 if you choose one what you will choose and why please?
I'm really interested in both pairs of headphones, but they're both out of my price bracket. When I am able to afford them tho, I'm gonna wait until Apple's Automatic Switching feature becomes an industry standard (like it did for the quick pairing and the head tracking surround sound) and gets adopted on the Beoplays, then get those
I want to get one of these solely for gym , which would be better ? I don't need them for anything else as I am an audiophile and already use hifiman he1000se, zmf Verite closed and sennheiser hd800s , along with a few other high end headphones... Right now I use a Sony Z7, (with the mask tape depending mod) for gym but I want to get rid of the cable ... Do either of these compete with the z7 Ito sound quality ?
Hi Mikyle, if you are looking for something for sports then your best bet out of these two will the the H95. For two reasons: It is lighter and feels more rugged. However, AirPods Max’s ear cups are much easier to swap. That might be a good reason to go that since you will sweat while using the headphones. As for sound, you can’t go wrong with any of them!
Yea. This is what I'm talking about. Long true indepth reviews of these headphones - especially the h95. Yall did a masterful job doing that. Im lookin to get those eventually since I'm into strong sound signatures, bass, mids, treble, etc. Is it perfect for hip hop and jamacian music like sean paul from the late 90s to the late 2000s?
Thanks black ice for the kind remark. The H95 is very good for hip hop especially because you want to hear the nuances in the bass region. Take for instance, Eminem’s often cacophonous instrumentals make more sense when you listen through the H95. And that goes for the Airpods Max by the way 🙂. As for Jamaican music, if you love your music thumping with bass, well…you won’t get that bang. But if you love your music smooth and groovy - like a laid back live performance - without sacrificing detail, then the H95 is definitely your guy!
@@CarefulOptimist ah man. I want my music crystal clear but with thumping bass and I'm not fan of apple products. How about the sennheiser momentum 3 headphones?
@@blackice7408 they are also great, looking at it this way, usually speakers have thumping bass, but for headphones it depends on the mood for me or day so i don't really need the thumbing bass but more of a detailed music.
I think purely for listening to music the Bang and Olufsen are head and shoulders above I also have the one metre cable plus a 2 metre audiophile cable which I plug to a Beocenter 2 CD player and the H95 sounds much better plugged in to a quality music source rather than Bluetooth
I have a question regarding the sound quality of the Airpod Max. I do not stream my music. It is on my iPhone and FIIO M11 mostly as lossles HiRes. How can the Aipod Max reproduce an excellen sound using only the AAC protocol and no 3,5“ jack available?
I think what’s great with the AirPods Max is the computational audio that Apple has got going. Apple is at the forefront of trying to reproduce the best sounding/balanced audio wirelessly. Of course, sometimes, this comes off as too mechanical. But for the most part it works. I do not use the AirPods Max with the cable. But now you mentioned it, I am off to buying one to test it.
I had both at one point in time. But returned the H95 when i ordered the Airpod Max. So i wasn't able to do side by side comparison. The H95 was great. But at that time, i know that the Airpod Max would be able to punch above it's weight. So i returned the H95. The Airpod Max did not disappoint. It is almost as good as the H95. It has too much boost which hints at making the sound a bit more artificial. But for the price. I accepted it.
I've been using white AirPods Max for 1.5 year every single day and the headband is staining and lost it's support and shape (it's replaceable but apple doesn't provide it) and it's not comfortable to sit in them for more than an hour straight... thinking about h95. The AP max also sometimes loose connection just randomly and come back to life as well as the right ear mechanism started making weird noice when I open them up... needless to say about the bad case which also didn't last long in it's condition. They are quite heavy on the head, hopefully H95 will be better, thanks for a detailed review
You see the problem with your seamless connectivity choice is that the AirPods Max are fantastic if you are fully invested into the Apple eco System. My AirPods max switch automatically between my Apple Watch, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac seamlessly. I love my AirPods Max headset but again I’m fully vested in the Apple EcoSystem.
Awesome channel and very appreciative to your effort to put forward such informative reviews for both of, what I feel are the best consumer level headphones 🎧 Thank you for the much needed reviews and so I made my purchase today 🤣
@@CarefulOptimist I bought the Apple AirPods Max (Space Grey) :) I spent the first few hours on it watching movies and listening to music and I must say I’m very impressed! The reason I went for Apple AirPods Max was mainly because of my Apple ecosystem. However, B&O has always been the brand I go to when seeking for headphones 🎧
Great program. Loved the footage and how cut things together By now I go for the H95 and buy the APM's in 2-3 years when generation 3 is on the market. Think the battery really is a problem, but I guess the next generations will have it better due to all the complaints Guess you will like Spotify this fall, when they will have the same sound quality as Tidal
Hi Ole, yes indeed. You have a point about waiting for future iterations of the Airpods Max. However, given how sluggish Apple has become and somewhat complacent too, I am not so optimistic about them improving the battery life even by then. Also thanks for the kind feedback on the video. I appreciate.
@@CarefulOptimist Not an apple user, some of my friends are. Had an IPhone before, when in Malaysia it needed Aircondition. So for me Apple always has been about beauty and design, not always quality. After all the stylish costumer has to buy a new phone, watch and other items on a yearly basis. So i am sure those AirPods have some sort of error after 2-3 years. Still not listening to your costumers is a problem and more or less every TH-camr complaints about the case. So if there is no new case, on/off switch or something 3rd - costumers will not buy the next generation next year.
Thanks for great review. However I got complaint from people when I have a phone call with my airpods max. They say that they don't hear me well at all.
I have a lot of Apple stuff but my Audi has Bang & Olufsen. That made be buy the Beolit 20 speaker and is making me consider the H95’s. While I’d like to get AirPods Max, who knows when the Max 2 is coming out. Still on the fence lol.
I was just your 1000 subscriber!! Great review, but I think I’m going with the BEOPLAY. Please let us know if you had any moisture issues with the APM’s as some have noted being an issue.
What a fantastic video. One of the best reviews of these headphones I have ever seen. Loved this. You guys MUST do more of this. YOU NAILED IT!!! This was amazing. I am looking forward to hearing both headphones and experience them. I wonder how you would compare them to the Sennheiser Momentum 3 which are said by some to be even better sounding. What do you think? NB: You MUST do more together - you guys ROCK!!
Hi Emeka and Reem, I just purchased the APM and it’s on the way and then I ran into this review. I won’t repeat what all the reviewers have said but just add a few words to this well done and thorough review: CSC - crazy sexy cool! Can’t wait to see APM evolve in the coming years as did with the iPhones. New subbed and looking forward to learn more from your reviews as well as being entertained for free! Thank you.
I been searching a video like this lol air pods max were some of my faves until they broke lol now im getting H95’s and i wanted to hear its differences in sound quality
Loved the review, thank you very much. I agree with you on all terms and as a long time B&O user I so would have liked to given it the winning medal, however it has to stay with Apple. I kept both headsets in the end as they both have their place depending on what type of music I'm listening to. For long travels it will be the B&O in my luggage mainly to the outstanding battery life.
Can verify that B&O stuff usually lasts Got 32 year old speakers from them here (BeoLab 5000 & BeoLab 3000) that have been treated awfully with damp and rats and yet they somehow work perfectly Fantastic video

I agree you and Reem knocked the sound at the park and Reem was masterful I really enjoyed her and you with Rheem this review was something like I’ve never seen before in my life very engaging great fun but extremely informative thank you so much I will be most likely keeping my H 95s
Amazing video Sir!!! Just helped me buy what I really wanted.
Very nice review; thoughtful and informative.
Very thorough. Nice job!
fantastic review, thorough, balanced and engaging!
How h95 compare px8, for jazz music. can you recommend something? ❤
Loved it you two are a double duo
🙂
I really am enjoying the quality of this video production, and the overall review. You have a new subscriber👍🏾✊🏾
You just won my subscription 👌🏾
Wow, best review I’ve ever seen , thank you both so much
Very good review, one of the best that I have seen while trying to decide between a few platforms. Reem was a hit as well
Thank you!
Impressively in-depth, yet crystal clear, entertaining and esthetically pleasing review, guys! Thank you so much and best of luck with developing the channel.
Love your reviews.
Nice review loved it
Thank you!
Looking forward to this. I have both headphones as well. Curious to see your thoughts and how they align with mine
Great video guys, thank you.
VERY thorough review!!! Enjoyed!
Great video! Does reem have public social media accounts 😅
And also to watch movies which one would you take ? The Audeze Mobius ?
We will have to look into the headphones in question.
late thanks for this deep, good Review of those amazing Headphones.
Kudos and Abo
Amazing insight....and chemistry!
Great comparison video. Keep it up!
Just finished the video. The conclusion is exactly what i had when they came out. which was just a few months apart then.
What’s the name of the song at 31:31 - where can I find it?
If the B&O would fix that ANC dial, add a sensor so that they would stop when taking them off and allow for the battery to be replaced easily this would be worth the money. Otherwise it is highly overpriced. There should be no room for error or mishap at this price range.
They also need to increase the surface of that play / pause tactile area.
I really like the fact that the wheel that adjusts the volume and the ANC is not on the outside (where it would have easily been accidentally operated) but in the middle surrounding the earcup.
I am so glad that you are comparing those two
wearing headphone over your head scarf. GENIUS!
One thing i want to ask about H95 - what about latency? Are they good for gaming? Don't want to by bunch of headphones for different tasks
Isn't the metal used on the Beo titanium and not aluminium?
Amazing video! Between the H95 and AirPods Max, which had the wider/better sound stage?
Great review. I invested in the H95's and they are awesome!
This review is an art piece. 👏
We are glad you picked that up 🙂. Thank you FJ
Another great review!! And bring Reem back, please!
🙂
Thank you!
i had both (returned the H95s).
Great review - You both did a great job. Well done!
Great review, i also live in Germany and love my AirPods Max. Just wish they would allow me to get more base. Good job.
Loved the video and the comparison. Now to the real question, what glasses are you wearing? Love them!
A non-fanboy/fangirl review. Nice job!
nice review..if you compare overall performance and features in Beoplay H95/ Airpods MAx/Sony XM5/Sennheiser Momentum 4/Bose 700/Bowers and Wilkins Px7s2 or Px8 if you choose one what you will choose and why please?
I'm really interested in both pairs of headphones, but they're both out of my price bracket. When I am able to afford them tho, I'm gonna wait until Apple's Automatic Switching feature becomes an industry standard (like it did for the quick pairing and the head tracking surround sound) and gets adopted on the Beoplays, then get those
That will be a long wait.
@@CarefulOptimist thank you so much for the great response! Much appreciated, keep up the excellent work, you guys are doing a really good job
I think purely for listening to music the Bang and Olufsen are head and shoulders above
I also have the one metre cable plus a 2 metre audiophile cable which I plug to a Beocenter 2 CD player and the H95 sounds much better plugged in to a quality music source rather than Bluetooth
I love this in-depth review so much
Thank you!
Another great video. Thank you for your content.
Thank you! What a great review! I’m going with the AirPods this time, but really hard to picked one.
Thanks Jonathan for the kind comment. Which one did you go for and why?
@@CarefulOptimist I bought the Apple AirPods Max (Space Grey) :) I spent the first few hours on it watching movies and listening to music and I must say I’m very impressed!
The reason I went for Apple AirPods Max was mainly because of my Apple ecosystem. However, B&O has always been the brand I go to when seeking for headphones 🎧
sensual girl + unique boy + 2 pricey hps comparison = bingo!!!
I like apple products Mac books, Iphone … but B&o is from another planet. So sophisticated, so refined. Look at them… headphones from another planet ❤
Nice review, bring her back :)
How do these compare to the Drop Pandas?
Great program. Loved the footage and how cut things together
By now I go for the H95 and buy the APM's in 2-3 years when generation 3 is on the market. Think the battery really is a problem, but I guess the next generations will have it better due to all the complaints
Guess you will like Spotify this fall, when they will have the same sound quality as Tidal
The battery on mine is extremely good, I think they already fixed the issues in a firmware update.
Which has better noise cancelling
The AirPod max has great noise canceling and the transparency mode is great. I returned the AirPod max because they hurt my ears for some reason.
@@TheBrad605 why hurt your ears?? too loud ;))
Thanks for great review. However I got complaint from people when I have a phone call with my airpods max. They say that they don't hear me well at all.
Hmm. That’s not been my case. I am still using the APM. I will check to verify this. Thanks for the kind feedback.
I have a lot of Apple stuff but my Audi has Bang & Olufsen. That made be buy the Beolit 20 speaker and is making me consider the H95’s. While I’d like to get AirPods Max, who knows when the Max 2 is coming out. Still on the fence lol.
People love the cold Airpods design while not even into summer. Wait until it's getting hotter))) Metal and hot weather is awesome)))
indeed!!!
Best add for Airpods ever!
Very informative, thanks! Have you tried B&O HX? I wonder how its sound quality compares to H95
We def want Reem back. Great job by both of you.
Excellent review
Hi Emeka and Reem,
I just purchased the APM and it’s on the way and then I ran into this review.
Can verify that B&O stuff usually lasts
Got 32 year old speakers from them here (BeoLab 5000 & BeoLab 3000) that have been treated awfully with damp and rats and yet they somehow work perfectly
Fantastic video
Wow! 32 years! Amazing!
