Had the MAPDCCD in 03 JDM sti drivetrain that was in a USDM 06 STI. (35:65 powersplit ftw). In auto, if the gain dial was at 0% the car will oversteer and easily spin out especially in the rain, kept it around 60%, they should really stress the important of the gain dial position if Im going around a bend and somehow had it at 0% because a passenger touched it, it could be dangerous if unexpected.
Yeah I can see how that would be dangerous! The Auto cross map also has an aggressive bias to go full lock at hight throttle loads so on some really technical roads we felt it was more prone to understeer. Very nice you can customize the settings though.
@@OkiSubies not at all, there’s a place close to here that registers the imports that come to the Long Beach port out of state! Out of state plates FTW
Just a quick one, I have an SF5 Turbo 1999 model. I am having consistent boost surge in gears 3,4,5. The turbo will pull hard, let off, pull hard, let off. This happens from about 3500rpm to whenever I decide to shift or slow the hell down. I have NO mods. I have NO boost gauge. I have a new MAF installed as well
This sounds something like plugs needing to be changed, if it was a newer car I would say coil packs might be something to look at also but you have the single coil pack and when those go bad the idle and normal driving is also effected.
I did a conversion with the coil pack to that of version 7. I removed the lead wires but I did this long ago. I’ll check my plugs. Which are the recommended plugs for this SF5?
Awesome video as always. But i have a suggestion for a exciting content for you guys and I`m sure other subie fans would like to see this as well. How about showing us some videos of how to set up abs delete for early gc/gf subie models.
Hey OkiSubies, I have a small inquiry. I recently swapped my sf5 intercooler with a wrx intercooler. I started noticing some boost fluctuations. When I unplug the vacuum hose from the dump valve, the car seems to boost just fine. Could this be an issue with the dump valve or perhaps a leak on the intercooler?
Most likely the dump valve/ BOV We have noticed that the oem setups have a really soft spring. If you remove it and can push it really easily thats most likely your problem 👍🏻
Of course there are differences like RHD and the fact that the chassis is still a Type RA V limited but at the end of the day they are both extremely light platforms so in a performance aspect I would have to agree!
What a beautiful car! The cleanest GC8 we have seen on Okinawa and it's comings stateside! Watch out!
Thank you guys so much for all the love and hard work you put into the car for me! Awesome video!!!!!
Thank you! It has been a blast to make your vision into reality!
A real deal GC8 ripper. Them seats though. wow! Love it. Killer build 😎
Thanks for watching!

Wow gc8 sti what a car..lucky guy.
And you guys from okiscubi keep it up
I day mast 😊
I have my GC8 that was imported from Oki here on Camp Pendleton in California. Can’t wait to see this one here!
Nice! Was the registration process difficult? We have heard that California can be a pain.

Crazy nice type RA
Definitely going to miss it!
What year Forster did you used for the boot?? Thats an awesome idea Im gonna have to do it!
It reminds me of my old gc8 STI Version 5 with Version 8 engine and 6 spd DCCD on Okinawa. Also Ver 8 dashboard and Ver 8 clutch.
STI *RA* version 5
My STI RA RIP 😢
I love this gc8 STI RA
It should remind you of your RA because thats what inspired OkiSubies to do merges! Your RA was the first GC8 I saw swapped.
Beautiful machine, I cant wait to do my swap. I need more power! Can you share what state its going to?
I’m headed to California for a couple of years.

@@Leuville_Enterprise Well It could definitely be one of the coil packs going bad also then!

I love this! We have a couple of ways we do this so that would be a good one! Thanks for the suggestion!
makes me miss my gc8 i had a 96 v limited sold it way to cheap
Crazy what has happened to the prices of cars!🤯
I been trying to get my dad on board to buy an old subaru and he's a retired veteran. Just can't get him out of a chevy at all
I would suggest getting him to go for a ride in one if you know one that has one. The best way to fall in love with a car is to experience it!

American military in my area in the uk, do the same, and they get to ship a car for free
So that means building a usdm 98-01 impreza 2.5rs is just as lagit if built properly...

@okisubies Hi, do you guys assist with exporting cars? Do you have a website or email i can reach out to?
