I started The Grace of Kings and i made it to chapter 9 and I can't bring myself to continue. 😐
I’m glad you said something about this, because I’d seen Dom talking about it again, so I snagged a digital copy.
@@EntertainmentEncyclopedia first story is great!
Totally with you on The Hellborn King.
@@AuthorJohnADouglas such a great book!
@ Anxious for book 3, but happy to wait for it
@ I am hopeful for a 2025 release
@ same. Day one buy.
Artemis has its negatives but otherwise I enjoyed it quite a lot
I started it again today
@@myriamlaviolette1119 I’m having a great time
I plan on start the Bloodsworn Saga next year! I’ve not read any of JG so if I like the series then I will go back and read the fateful and the fallen.
I think the biggest... non-failure... pot hole dodged... is that the RPG of LitRPG is super light, there are no stats, exp, or overloads of abilities. All you and the characters in the world get, is "Level X [Class Name]" and "[Ability name]" They don't even get to know what an ability DOES, other than through trial and error or passed down knowledge. Nor do they get guaranteed an ability every level, which really trumps alot of LitRPG slop that give you multiple full stat pages to keep track of by the 3rd chapter.
My reading plans: To Green Angel Tower Wind and Truth Fire and Blood The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo The Black Crown (John A Douglas) Titan (Ben Bova) Star Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter Star Trek: The Pandora Principle Skipping Christmas
That sounds like a great TBR! I hope you enjot The Black Crown. Great indie Debut
Malazan is going to be my christmas read too, I'm now finishing up Dust of Dreams and plan to read the cripled god next week.
Thats Awesome! I hope you enjoy it :)
If you’re open to suggestions, MZD’s House of Leaves is a great metafictional book, as well as having more suspenseful elements to it.
I have heard so many interesting things about House of leaves. I really need to check it out
Thankful to you and those like you who are great booktubers!
@@Sam-hg9sk of course!!!
I'm happy for this video!! It's exciting. My most awaited read will be for the year 'Wind and Truth the fifth installment of Stormlight Archive series.
I may also try and SQUEEZE in Wind and Truth lol
Vote for GGK!
GGK!!!!!!
I’ve got the best self care imaginable: a wife and another cup of coffee
No arguments here John :)
I want to do the Advent of Winter thing this year too. I started reading them last year, but I didn't like reading them on my phone, so I decided to wait for the physical book. I'll definitely be reading Wind and Truth in Dec. I'm going to the Dragonsteel Con, and I'll be getting my copy of the book from there. And then who knows what I'll be reading. Probably Eye of the Bedlam Bride.
OHHHH Jealous you are going to Dragonsteel! I hope you have a blast
Here starts Repairman Jack’s conquering of BookTube!
@@fangs1972 dude it’s so good
I'm glad you're enjoying it my friend! I just finished book 3 and it's really starting to get intense
@@Already-Overbooked I’m super happy to finally be starting this series
Soooo curious to hear your thoughts on To Ride Hell's Chasm! Hope you end the year on a high note with all these books, happy reading 🥰
I am excited to finally buckle down and finish the book. I like what I have read so far
My December plans: The Last Kingdom, The Black Company,Gifts,The Demon Awakens, Thinner,A Vengeful Realm, and whatever else happens to catch my eye if there's time
So many are checking out the last kindgom This month!!!!!
So happy you are enjoying Kagen!!!
@@trinforeman54 I loved book 1 book 2 has serious issues though
I hope you like Artemis. It's fun. Nothing like his other stuff.
@@trinforeman54 I am intrigued
The Outsider is great! Finished it in one day! The HBO series adaptation is also amazing!
@@Vinteractive ohhhh I’m not sure I knew about the adaptation
I'm on a reread kick and I'm still in part 1 of The Will of the Many which will probably take me all of December to finish. And we'll see what my mood makes read next.
I really enjoyed Will of the Many! Hopefully your reread is going well!
A hearty, wonderful list!!! The Outsider by Stephen King is on my shelf... I may have to pick it up in December!?! 😂 I really love mystery/suspense/thrillers in the winter months, so I think a number of those novels will be read in December, i.e. I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid; Rock, Paper, Scissors; some Agatha Christie, etc. We shall see!?! May your December be a holly, jolly one, reading-wise: Have a BLAST, enjoy, laugh, smile and until next time, uber rockin' Mr. Andrew!!!!! 🎉🌌❄️
@@nicholasjohnson5944 Thank you as always Nicholas :) I am always excited to dive into another king books. 🔥. I need to read more Chrisite. I had a great time reading her last year.
let's go with WoLaS in January! Hope you had a magical Thanksgiving!
@@BrianBell7 it was magical Brian! I hope yours was just as good
Artemis; I liked it without loving it.
@@Montie-Adkins I figured I enjoy it but not be blown away
Woohoo!!! I’m reading midnight tides too 🤣🫣
@@FineReads fingers crossed I don’t bounce off. I have been a hair slumpy lately
@ yeah, not a great book when you’re in a slump 🤣 Also, am I missing something or does this feel like a complete new arc?
I enjoyed the outside and the institute both are good
@@Already-Overbooked NICE!
The Outsider is so good! I hope you enjoy it. The Institute is good too.
@@JasonsWeirdReads those are both a couple King books that have been on my shelf unread for to long
Halfway through Stone and Sky. Hoping to finish it by Sunday. It's a great "Dad book." When the kid wants to show to show me what he's made in Minecraft, I can easily put a bookmark in without having to re-read a page or two when I get back. The only actual novel in current December pile (my TBR changes constantly) is Brom's Krampus. I have some middle grade Christmas and Winter themed books and some Victorian/Edwardian ghost story collections. Since I'm headed to the bookstore on Monday to grab Christmas gifts, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up picking up something for myself. Asking the in-laws for the last two Matthew Corbett books for Christmas.
@@brandon5080 lmao a great dad book makes so much sense!
As always a mind bending stack my brother!
@@Talking_Story so many books so little time
@ don’t I know it!
6 books for this dec. 1- The Ship of Merior (Janny Wurts) 2- Herald: Age of Godeater (Rob.J. Hayes) 3- Dracul - prequel to Dracula- (Dacre Stoker) 4- God's Demon (Wayne Marlowe) 5- The Paths We Have Taken (L.R Hunter) 6- Teh Daughter's War (Christopher Buehlman)
This sounds like an amazing December TBR. I just recently picked up Dracul
I prefer the clean and digested prose as well. The six hundred page thing about The Dragon in Winter is another matter.
LOL fair enough
I recommend you Ripley. Beginning is pretty good.
@@Luckathefranglais sweet! Thanks
I loved the first half of The Outsider but the second half was landing on the Whammy on Press Your Luck…wha wha
@@heidi6281 fingers crossed I get a no whammy
Goodluck with ur reads for December!! I hope 2024 is good year for reading!! 🎉
@@safinan8008 thank you Safina! I hope the same for you
Any month with Malazan is going to be a good month. I'm still surprised you're digging Kagen so much, I honestly thought it wouldn't be up your alley. It's a really fun series though. The Dragon in Winter was awesome.
Book 2 of Kagen is really dragging. I feel it is probably 100-150 pages too long
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads yea I had the same problem with the middle/later half of Poison Rose, it thankfully picks back up in TDiW.
I've only read the first 3 Last Kingdom books, they're fine. It's coming up on 2 years since I read Book 3 and haven't felt that need to continue. Cornwell's become a very mixed bag for me. I haven't finished these yet but I'm currently reading: *Fantasy* Fitz & the Fool 2: Fool's Quest - 30% left *Historical-Fantasy* Boudicca 1: Dreaming the Eagle - This will be prioritised between Fool's Quest and Assassin's Fate.
@@thatsci-firogue I didn’t resonate with Sharpe at all so I’m nervous about Last Kingdom….
@AndrewsWizardlyReads It all went wrong with Grail Quest for me 💀I'm actually looking forward to Sharpe since I like the show and I generally find that time period much more interesting than Dark Ages Europe
@@thatsci-firogue I was warned off of reading the Grail Quest
@AndrewsWizardlyReads yeah by me 🤣
Sounds like a man with a plan! The Advent of Winter is so damn good. I get the King backlog I've read so many and I'm still behind!
@@darkstarsbookcavern it will be years before I can say I’m mostly caught up on his back log. I’m really excited for Advent
The Outsider is strong man! Top half King for sure! I have a short but long December TBR: Finish The Blood Stones Wind and Truth This Inevitable Ruin (Dungeon Crawler Carl 7)
@@DustinHarrisWHBC lol I understand what you mean by short and long
Yes, «Bloodsworn Saga»! Currently reading the final novel, «Fury of the Gods»! My December TBR/MBR: «Dreaming the Eagle» («Boudica» #1) by Manda Scott (Historical Fiction about the Celtic British Queen and her Rebellion against the Romans) «The Wall» (City of Victory Trilogy #3) by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Military Fiction set during the building of Hadrian’s Wall) «Baudolino» by Umberto Eco (Historical Fantasy set during the Later Crusades on the border of Myth and History in 13th Century Europe and Middle East) «The Children of Gods & Fighting Men» by Shauna Lawless (Historical Fantasy set in Ireland during the Viking Age) «Leviathan Falls» (The Expanse, #9) by James S.A. Corey (Space Opera) «Dictator» (Cicero Trilogy #3) by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction about the Roman Politician Cicero) «City of Thieves» by David Benioff (Historical Fiction set during the WW2 Seige of Leningrad (Modern Day St. Petersburg)) «The Power Broker» by Robert Caro (Political Biography/Investigative Journalism Classic, my Q4 long-read)
@@MacScarfield wow that is a stacked December TBR. I am forever curious about dreaming the eagle

That's cool..

@AndrewsWizardlyReads . Your doing great.

Black Sun Rising is criminally underrated. The whole...I think it's Coldfire trilogy is pretty good. Do yourself a favor and make yourself read it. It's...different than you described(*Edit, it IS sci fantasy, but different than others I've read, I personally enjoyed it more than GGK*), in a good way. I absolutely loved all three.
