Mod #2 for the 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 makes it a much better steering motorcycle - adding an Ohlins steering damper. Hey man I’m looking at this upgrade as a purely aesthetic upgrade with obvious handling benefits but I’d like to know after almost a year of use what’s your thoughts on the upgrade? Was it worth it for you?
I've really enjoyed your Panigale videos, and this Ohlins unit looks top of the line. Question is not why not get the V4S right at the beginning?
A V4S upsell is for factory Ohlins and Marchesini’s. Aftermarket Ohlins are WORLD’s better than factory kit and you’ll spend less upgrading a base. $3k will get you aftermarket FGRT forks and a TTX; about $3k will get you Marchesini’s too. You’ll have a much more capable bike than a V4S.
I got this at 1100 kms. 😢
The Panigale wasn’t released in 2018😅😅😂😂😂😂😂
Think you so much for this information 😮💨
I’m not sure if Ducati has a trip meter on the dash, but that’s what I use for my gas gauge. Reset it when I fill up, then once I get to about 120 miles I need to be finding gas soon. Crazy respect for that long trip though!!!
Newbie subscriber here. Guess everyone knows but getting spares for the old 4 cylinder MVs from the factory now is impossible. KTM now own a significant piece of MV and from what I understand, they have no intention to start manufacturing spares for the early 4 cylinder bikes. Your only option is used parts. MV Agusta forum is a good place to start and ask questions.
Apart from installing the heat shield kits, it'd help a lot to uninstall the catalytic converter and run straight pipes. The converter generated so much heat also but this is a pricey solution.
thanks so much for posting this. I just got my bike and rode up the coast in traffic and it was so uncomfortable on a cool day, I can't imagine on a hot day let alone a track day in the desert.
Dave Moss can charge double, and it would still be a great value for money.... You get to ride the two MVs with the new Ducati in the garage? Ride safe, love your content
Dave is The Man. He knows his stuff! Glad you’re enjoying the videos. Stay tuned. 😎
Dropped your F3 . Ouch .
Now that you're back, i gotta ask. Is there any more MV Agusta content coming?
Lovely video ❤ i ride my 2018 cbr 1000 rr as my commuter , for canyons and highways. Ergonomically my body is acclamatized to my bikes riding triangle and ive done 30000 kms in crazy chaotic india. I just love the peace , happiness, freedom i get riding my blade and trust me it is keeping me physically fit and healthy and i have a good body form and strong core muscles. All thnks to my cbr ❤
That's awesome. The gold Ohlins do look amazing, but I have to the black ones has a very uniqueness to it.
Yeah, I think the black ones will look a lot better once the bike is all done. Stay tuned! 😎
@@amv_moto definitely looking forward to it. Btw I hope you went through my email about the Revzilla Giftcard giveaway experience.
And he is alive 😎 that’s some nice bling right there AMV 💵 really curious to see the colour you chose for the respray as well
Yeah, I've been busy finishing my house remodel so I had to take a break from YT. I'm back on it now though so stay tuned. Trying to pump out as many videos as I can before the end of the year. 💪
I miss your content! Are we gonna see more riding vids soon? Also how's the F3 these days?
Yeah, I had to take a break from YT to finish my house remodel. But I'm back on the editing grind now so I'm trying to post a bunch of videos soon. I'm almost a year behind in my editing! One of the upcoming videos is my last BIG road trip. It's been a monster to edit all that footage but I'm making progress. The F3 is good - so far - since I got the new engine. Just one minor problem with the coolant tank that I got fixed right before the warranty expired. About 18k miles on it (10k on the the new engine). Stay tuned! 😎
Sorting your suspension for your weight and riding style is the best thing you can do for your bike, even the standard units can be made to feel trick 👍🏻
Definitely. Just having your stock suspension set up by a good suspension tech makes a huge difference to your ride. 😎
Man that's sick!! I rather have the standard v4 with that set up than the v4s!
Yeah, loving my choice to go base V4. With all the $$$ you save, you can do a lot of cool mods! 😎
Dude - this is exactly what I'm planning at the desmo service. So happy to hear your experience was positive to reinforce my decision on a 21 Panigale V4 base model. Are you going to get to the track soon?
For sure. Base V4 is the way to go if you plan to do a bunch of mods. Hoping to make it to the track at some point in the next year. Trying to work it out with my schedule. Fingers crossed!
What are your thoughts on The New Panigale? I think it looks good but also kinda gay 🤣🤣
Meh. It's OK. People have said it looks like a Chinese knock-off of a Ducati. Can't really argue with that description. It is slightly faster on track though, so there's that. But I feel no need to rush out and buy the new model. I'm good! 🤣
How come you didn’t opt for the v4s instead of the regular v4 if you were gonna change all the suspension?
Yes, people have asked me that one so I'll be posting my V4 vs. V4s video right after my next video. But basically, I just wasn't into most of the upgrades on the V4s. For the difference in price between the two, you can do A LOT of cool mods on a base V4. Stay tuned for that video if you want to hear more.
OOHHH HELL YEAH!!! DAVE MOSS in the HOUSE!!! Love that guy!
Dave Moss is The Man! 😎
Gosh... That Intro music bro...... Everytime.... Aahh.....
Thank you for recognizing the Honda RC51. I used to have the 2003 RC51 aka the Duc killer. Many say the best WSB race of all time is when Edwards (Honda RC51) defeated Bayliss (Ducati) at Imola in 2002 on that motorcycle. I thought Honda would improve and build on the RC51, but they discontinued it after 2006. It was not the fastest motorcycle in stock form, but it was probably the most fun motorcycle out of the 13 sportbikes I have owned. Another amazing video from you, thank you.
Yes! Have always been a fan of the RC51 and it's so rare to see them out in the wild. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yes
I have so many problems with my MV
Ducati wings look stupid, Aprilia it looks like a proper system integrated into the computational dynamics, Ducati?? Bolt on garbage.
I just stumbled on this video (and the first) HIGHLY enjoyable. My Diavel V4 does have a gas gauge. They're capable, which I'm sure you know. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed the videos! Gotta love Ducati. 😎
Road tripped my V2 from SLC to Denver last August. What an unforgettable experience; mainly for the challenge it was, but oh so much fun! Love the trip videos with your V4. Looking forward to more! 😃
Sounds like a great trip! I’m thinking about doing a trip up to Denver from LA in the future. Been finishing some work on my house so had to take a break from YT but I’m back to editing so I’ll have a bunch of videos uploaded soon so stay tuned! 😎
I wonder if you wrap the exhaust if that will help?
It might help. I’ve also heard that upgrading to titanium headers reduces the heat too. Luckily the heat shield kit helped quite a bit. No more melted legs. 🔥 🔥 🔥
What tires did you use? ... and what pressures?
I was running Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3’s at 33 psi front & rear.
What year model is your Ducati v4 and what year model heat shield kit did you put in your bike?
I have a ‘22 but at the time they hadn’t come out with the ‘22 version yet so I bought a ‘20/21 kit. It’s basically the exact same as the newer kit. The seat shield pattern is just cut a little different but the difference is not meaningful.
does it work together with Futurismoto unit?
It should work with no problem because this kit retains all the stock mounting points.
Tip: When the gaslight comes on you have a gallon of gas
Looks way better without wings
Hey, I love your content, please make more videos!!
You are crazy😂
A guy quit at work when I had my day off so I...stayed late? Lot of YPs becoming MPs. I can see why they would quit.
Got the same error on my F3 675 half way on my three hours trip. I got so worried that I might ruin the engine. Thanks to TH-cam, I continued with my trip without less worry...
Glad you found the video helpful. 👍
Got that message today in my F3, hence I searched 😢
Cool video
Thanks! 👍
Any idea where I can find an engine for my 2021 MV 800 super veloce? Thanks
Oh no. Snapped valve? I’d start with eBay. F3s are sometimes wrecked and you might get lucky. Then I’d check the forum : mvagusta dot net. Again, maybe you’ll get lucky and someone is sitting on a parted out bike. Finally - depending on how much effort you want to put into putting it back together - I’d try a salvage site like Copart for a wrecked F3. They pop up every few months. And you can part out the rest if you have the patience. You’ll save a lot that way. Good luck! 👍
Wow, that’s $450 wt sales tax, for the kit…
Waiting for more F3/F4 videos!
In heat I usually set off around 4am in cool 😅
Amazing video! Maybe I missed it, but did you have any luggage or wear a backpack? I just did an 1,100 mile road trip on my street triple and I learned a few lessons too. Honestly, I didn’t realize how close I was to heat exhaustion until I stopped and bought a cold drink with ice. A man told me, “Hot day for a ride.” It kind of pissed me off and I kept riding.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Yeah sportbike road trips in the heat are a challenge! Definitely learned a few lessons for the next trip though! I travelled with a backpack because I don’t like that feeling of extra weight hanging off the bike. And that forces you to pack light. If you check my videos I have one detailing everything that I packed for the trip. 😎
@@amv_moto I sincerely appreciate your reply and I learned a lot from you too. You are a most impressive and ambitious person. I watched and enjoyed all of your videos. Please make more!
DONT BUY ANY MV AGUSTA!! Sprag clutch, stator and bearing are junk and go out every 2yrs. And the fuel tanks are plastic crap! Even with no-ethanol race fuel they expand and contract, causing the paint to crack, deformation and fuel leaking. Every 2yrs these are gonna cost you about $5000 USD to fix!
What did you do about your engine oil change? After break-in miles, you rode close to 3k miles without changing engine oil? what's the manufacturer's recommended engine oil change interval. Just binge-watched both parts because of your lessons💯 I have a road trip coming and I ride a BMW S1000rr Hp4 Comp so every tip is helpful! Thank you😊
The oil change interval for V4’s is 7500 miles (12000 km) so all I did was check my oil level occasionally to make sure I didn’t need to add any - I didn’t. Have a good trip with your HP4 - that sounds awesome! 😎
@@amv_moto That's awesome. Thank you 😊
Husband and I took a roadtrip from LA to Denver, St Luis, Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Phoenix and back to LA and you’re right, it took us an entire day just to drive through Texas. Never again!
Yeah that drive across Texas never ends! Definitely. Would. Not. Recommend! 🤣
There’s another next weekend. Are you going to that one?
No I’m actually visiting family on vacation so I won’t make it up to Laguna Seca this year. Hopefully next year I can ride up there again. 😎
