- Finally get to ride my 2014 MV Agusta F3 800 again after the new replacement engine arrived and was installed - replacing my original engine that dropped a valve! Is my run of F3 bad luck over? I hope so!

Been following this saga fron the start, them dropping the bike is just icing on the cake. Hoping you're out of the woods and can enjoy the F3 from here on out.
Yeah - I've got my fingers crossed that my luck changes for the better!
Italian bikes/cars can be a total pain in the ass, but once you hear the exhaust note and feel the driving experience…it makes it all worth it
That end clip of pure glee ❤
Hey! Nice to see your bike back in (almost) top form. It definitely looks a lot meaner with the black engine. Sad that the intern/apprentice dropped the bike which resulted in more waiting time until it will be complete again.
I guess that for all 4 pieces to come in, it'll take MV 8 weeks but one piece of the puzzle just isn't quite the correct one like it happened with your tank. Excited to see and hear more from you. Maybe some motovlogs from the twisties?
All the best and stay healthy!
Yes, finally - I'm just glad to have the F3 back and running well. A few scratches aren't that big of a deal at this point. Fingers crossed on them sending the correct panels and hopefully they don't take forever to get here. I have a bunch of videos planned so stay tuned!
I fell in love with motorcycles at 13 because of MV Agusta. Nothing can scare me away lol...... except living 150 miles away from the closest dealer. I've owned 2 ducati's and 1 r1 and I thinkthe time has come to buy what I really want.
Living so far from a dealer will definitely make your life more difficult but it’s still doable. I tell most people to get a Ducati or Aprilia if they want something unusual and Italian because I think it’s a much better ownership experience. But you’re like me - an MV was something I always wanted so I totally understand you. I’m willing to put up with their horrible service just because I love the bike. Good luck when you finally decide to get one!
This F3 looks so good with the new black engine ! Finally, it runs !
Yeah but if its gonna be reliable then we might not get new material from our host, AMV
Finally is right! Darth Vader on 2 wheels!
Hello from Portugal. I meanwhile keep waiting two months ago to give me my brutale. And it was only the water sensor and the bendix, which now added the quickshifter. I hope to still walk with her this year.
Sorry to hear you're waiting for parts for so long. I definitely know what that feels like. Hopefully you'll get to ride your bike soon. Boa sorte!
Oh that sweet triple sound🤩
Happy to see your bike again
Me too! Fingers crossed that my luck changes for the better!
I had put down a deposit for the Brutale 800 last year, but because of the Euro5 emission norms which were implemented in India last year all the MV Agusta bikes failed to meet those requirements and thus I had to pull the plug on this dream purchase of mine. Eventually settled for a Z900, hoping that the new Euro5 MV models make it to India by mid-2021.
Yes, I read that MV is switching all their bikes over to Euro5 so hopefully you'll get a chance to eventually own a Brutale. Enjoy your Z900 in the meantime!
@@amv_moto thanks mate!!!
Enjoying watching all your adventures with Agusta. You've had a lot of misfortune there. Glad you got the new engine. I'm surprised they didn't send you the correct / orginal brushed silver colour though. I think they should've asked or checked the part / colour for you. Although if you're happy with the Vader look then it's fine though. Hopefully that's the end of your bad luck streak. Wishing you better times ahead and some happier videos showing off some good times :D Was going to ask if you're going to have to run in the new engine, but then I saw the end trailer lol. Oh yeah, rest of the parts - 6 weeks.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Unfortunately, there's no choice on engine color now - I can have any color I want as long as it's black. So I'll just have to get used to the Vader look. I'm really hoping my luck has taken a turn for the better on this bike!
I love your "stories"... I want to see more. Actualy a want buy F3... But after seeing this I am on the edge a little bit:D
Glad you enjoy the videos. There are a lot of riders who have no problems with their F3s but that obviously has not been my experience. It just seems to be how lucky/unlucky you are.
that is a sweet looking bike
You probably know this but there are some really great local canyon roads by Chevy Chase and on Glenoaks. I used to live up hill from Pro Italia and miss it.
Oh, maybe some super glue on the cracked fairing since they're going to replace it anyway. Maybe this is a good time to change colors if you want. 😆
Yes, I was just up on those canyon roads a few weeks back and it was a lot of fun. Great riding up there.
Good idea with the super glue. This might be a good time to experiment with Plasti Dip.
You should try and get them to comp a free 7,500 service when the time comes... Wild you daily this heap
Why have a stress-free life dailying a Honda when you can have the life of a masochist dailying an MV Agusta?
AMV Oh I’ve been there before! Currently have a slew of euro machines. Ranging from semi reliable, to flat out junk.
There’s left over new Brutale 800s going for decent deals, that I have to keep reminding myself to run away from 🤣
Definitely a badass bike!
Nice. You should consider buying a puig tinted windshield. It protects better from the air and I think it looks way cooler
Good idea.
Hey AMV! Not sure if you remember me but I commented a while back about being nervous about buying my new 2021 F3 800 RC and you won’t believe what happened. At only 2000 miles my valve snapped and my engine was completely destroyed as of 3 days ago! Also, I had 3 other warranty claims within a month which included my mirror falling off.
Wow. So sorry to hear that. And I thought MY bike was a lemon. At least I got 7500 miles out of it before it blew! I have to admit when everyone was saying MV solved the problem with the new black engines I was a little skeptical. I think it's too early to say for sure because not enough people have put enough miles on the black engines to tell us if the problem is fixed. Maybe they improved the reliability but by how much? Luckily you're still under warranty! I hope it doesn't take them 3 months to send you a new engine. If you're in the US, make sure you read up on your state's lemon law rules. I was just about to post a new update video. Can I add a bit about your blown engine?
@@amv_moto Sure dude! Feel free to include it in an update video. I can also send you photos of my bike broken down and on a breakdown lorry too, just send me a PM! I'm from the UK so hopefully I'll get a new engine quickly as I'm close to Italy :p
@@amv_moto Actually just emailed your email on youtube!
Got your email. Thanks for the details. I’m going to add a bit about it at the end of my next video.
I hope you get your new engine quickly too. But I just got a message from someone in Milan who was saying how long it still takes to get MV parts. Good luck!
Did Italian engineers bad copy from triumph triple or what. Hopefully new engine has stiffer valves.
Nice to see your bike is back up & running.
I did my 15k mile service 1 week ago on my F4 at OC motorcycles.
& i dropped my bike on a ride i did last weekend.
I have a video on it on my channel, i already fixed the damage, parts came within a week cause it was just the mirror & windscreen. (Mirror caps i bought from evoluton bike) & ( winsscreen from zero gravity)
But my F4 has been randomly shutting off/losing power with no error codes, not sure whats going on.
But that black engine looks nice, i want a all black MV.
Yeah, I'm just glad to have it back and running. Still getting used to that all-black look. Looks sinister. Sorry to hear you dropped your bike but at least the damage isn't too bad. Good luck with getting your bike running right. My Triumph had a similar problem. Turns out it was a loose battery cable.
@@amv_moto i replaced everything already which i am glad to have done haha.
& yea, i personally love the all black look.
Im hoping to get another MV, i want a F3 something lighter then my F4. Haha
MV make aprilia parts delivery seem rapid 😆
Ha! I’ve heard Aprilia’s parts delivery is not great but you truly have to be the King of Patience to deal with MV Agusta!
Dropped your F3 . Ouch .
I'd insist they place the order with someone like startwin trading or something (instead of mv themselves). So far, everything I've needed replaced on my f3 I've gotten from them and always came in within 3 weeks, from the UK. Just a suggestion.
They've already ordered the parts but I'll remember that for the future. I might be able to get things faster that way.
Yay new engine but think the shop ows you a nice race exhaust to go with the new panels as a sorry
I like the way you think!
You wouldnt want a new exhaust on it cause if you install aftermarket exhaust on it you loose the warranty on it
Did you get the new parts from MV? Fellow SoCal MV owner here and ProItalia customer.
Ha! MV Agusta sends parts when they want to. I’m not holding my breath.
@@amv_moto hopefully they get better, they seem to be on the right path.
Bike strands me once. Thats the end XD
That's some good advice. If only I wasn't a glutton for punishment I'd follow it!
I know your warranty covered everything, but how much it would've cost if you didn't have warranty?
MV charges ~$7000 for a new engine. Add in the shop labor costs and it probably would have been about $8000 total if I wasn't under warranty.
A year on from the new engine how is Darth going? 🤔 🤞
Working on an F3 update video after I finish up a few V4 videos. I've put 9000 miles on the new engine and so far no problems. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
@@amv_moto Fingers crossed for you bud!
Waiting 2,5 Months for some warranty work now... nothing changed.
Just some O Rings, and a seal.
Some parts will need 2 months, just to produce them, all parts are going to produce new bikes..
Yep. That sounds like MV. Hope you can get your parts soon. Good luck!
@@amv_moto got it back this week… miracle 😅
@@paulallenpierceandpierce Glad to hear you’re back up and running. Let’s hope it stays that way for a while. Good luck!
Hi.. I have some good news for you for a change. We at BellissiMoto like your honest ,upfront and informative videos. As fellow MV Agusta owner, we would like to speak with you regarding sponsorship.
Thank You

Hello Gabreal. Thanks for reaching out and I’m glad you enjoyed the videos. I sent an email to BM and Randy gave me a quick reply. You can reach me at amvinla @ gmail dot com to discuss more.
I have so many problems with my MV
Yyyaaaayyyyy!!!! :)
Hahaha lol man i just came from the other video of reliability and then this... Hahaha
Ha! Owning a F3 has been an adventure!
How many miles do you have to run the new engine for? And what kind of rev limit does MV suggest?
No more than 6k rpm for 1st 300 miles (500km). No more than 9k rpm for mile 300-600 (500-1000km). No more than 11k rpm for mile 600-1600 (1000-2500km). Then you're good to go. But the shop actually suggests the hard break-in method for MV's. They said all MV's they've seen that follow MV's guidelines burp white smoke from the pistons not seating properly. So, we'll see what happens.
@@amv_moto That's a real quandary they've given you isn't it!! I did the recommended break in on my Triumph 675 and it seems good, no smoke or steam once its warmed up. Not sure I could have been persuaded to do the "hard break-in" - its just so counter intuitive.
Aren't the engines run on the dyno at the factory?
I’d assume so - but it’s MV Agusta.
My guess is 5 weeks
Well....MV. I now have 21700km (around 13484 miles) on the Brutale (same engine as yours) but not without problems.... Rear brake. Disaster, no solution. Starter motor has failed at ~12 tkm ( 7500 miles), was replaced under factory warranty. Let's see what else comes. It is quite expensive but I am very well insured. Should a valve give up....Full insurance wins. New bike.
And also in germany we have the same problems with mv. I waited 8 weeks for the starter. 8 weeks!? to ship a part 385 miles!!?? This is getting on my nerves. Even if they love the bike *laughs*.
So you know all about the MV Life. The first thing I tell people who want to buy an MV is - you'd better be patient and have a second bike because when you have a problem you'll be waiting a while for parts. 8 weeks? Yep, that's MV Agusta for you. The next thing I tell them is get an extended warranty! Good luck and enjoy your Brutale and I'm glad to hear you're covered if anything major fails.
@@amv_moto Thank you very much. Yes to MV belongs patience.... But it pays off! In the first year when I bought you I drove 12 000km (~7500miles) and I can say I really got to know EVERYTHING about the bike. Especially after the 750km day trip which are about 467 miles
Hey dude did you get the parts?
Yes, finally. Sorry I dropped off for a bit. Just uploaded a video update.
@@amv_moto great look forward to watching it
now can buy f3 800 😆😆😆? l feel happy
I bought one mv f3 the last week and after look this vídeo I'm afraid haha
Ha! Most F3s don't have engine problems so hopefully you won't be unlucky like me!
