Disagree. Winglets make it look badass. but on the base v4 they are ABS plastic so I get it. Mine are carbon fiber since i got the V4SP2 100% keeping wings - so beautiful
I actually like the wings, although I don’t think that for street riding make sense at all. They look cool but unless you are Alvaro Bautista probably can’t take advantage of them. Curious to see the upcoming colour. Have you considered a wrap or getting a second set of fairings and painting those ones instead? Well they probably cost a fortune 😂 but you will be able to bring the bike back to stock if you want to. Ride safe 👍🏻
Yeah - unless you're riding at WSBK speeds, those wings are pretty useless. Yes I thought about a wrap but I hear those only last about 5 years before they have to be redone. So since I tend to keep my bikes forever it'd honestly be cheaper to buy and paint a second set of bodywork if I wanted to keep the original red fairings. Luckily I don't think I'll miss the red. LOL But it's always possible for me to pick up another set of red fairings later if I want. Stay tuned for the new color. It'll definitely be a different look.
Unless you’re continuously, pushing near 200 mph on the track the wings are useless, and Bautistas bike is faaaar different animal from thw V4 you can buy
You can find wing delete block-off plates for the Streetfighter, unsure about the Panigale or if they are the same. I really have come to dislike the way Ducati has integrated the wings, bike looks much better without them. BMW's new M1000R & M1000RR have ridiculous appendages on the front of their bikes too. The way Aprilia did it 2018-2020 was probably the best integration IMO, they would also be the hardest to remove.
Yeah I’d probably go the block-off plate route if I was keeping the bike red. But since I’m painting it anyway in a few months it’ll be easy for them to fill those areas in. 😎
Congrats on the F3 RC! Cool ride. 😎 Well the F3 is better looking, handling and a more comfortable bike compared to the V4 - in my opinion. But in every other area the V4 is superior. Power, technology, sound, build quality. And when you add MUCH better dealer support and parts availability it’s honesty hard for me to recommend MV Agusta to anyone. But I still love my F4! 🤣
Yep, unfortunately moved on from MV. Couldnt handle the constant feeling of impending doom and the dealer network slowly drying up in the uk. Stunning bits of kit though. Keep the mods subtle on the Panigale 😉👍 Interested to see the colour you chose……..
@0:43 I knew where you were going. Yippee! I can't believe you didn't spend XX$ for a new wiz-bang exhaust system. It seems to be all the rage. Also, don't put a window on the clutch assembly. It's a Ducati, not a Honda. P.S. I love the wings. sorry...
Ha! Yeah the mods I’m doing aren’t really the usual ones that all the big TH-camrs do. Hope to have them all done in the next few months. No worries about the wings - I know lots of people love them.
@@amv_moto OK, it's been a month and I've been out riding and seeing lots of V4's with wings. For some reason, I've grown to dislike them . To me, they look like a cheap add-on instead of something that was designed as part of the vehicle. When I look at wings and such for any racing car or peaks pike machine, the wings look like they are functional and belong. Hmm..
Wings are for braking from extra legal speeds and keeping the front down near the top speed of the bike, right? Completely useless for a street bike. Except for posing.
Yeah I’d guess 99% of V4’s are ridden on the street and no one who values their license or their life is going to be going 150mph+ to make those wings useful. 🤣
Do you think it would be worth the leap of faith into a 2018 f3 675 with 18k miles? Im looking for a new bike and i have a few in consideration including euro 4 brutales 800s and the 1st gen daytona 675r or maybe even an s2r but the f3 is enticing. Since most valve drops seem to be under 10k miles, would this be a good indication that this is one of the good ones or is it just a ticking time bomb that seems to be on its own schedule?
I usually recommend people stay away from MV Agusta because if you have a problem dealing with them can be miserable experience. Can you get an aftermarket warranty? That's the only way I'd recommend a used MV Agusta. The shop said it'd be ~$7000 for an engine replacement if I wasn't under warranty. Ouch. Or if it's just for fun, you're not going to ride it much and you plan to move on to something else in a year, maybe you want to take a chance. But I'd honestly recommend a different bike unless it's something you REALLY want. Good luck with your decision!
@@amv_moto good to know, and great timing. An 899 popped up near by with all the right bits (forward exit termi full system, comfort seat, taller wind screen etc.) at a great price and this makes the desicion easier. Now I just have to find insurance that doesn't cost 1/3 of the bikes value haha.
Another idea to fill the gaps of the wings is to find amber marker lights that would fit the sort of tear drop shape. I am sure you can find something very close to it and install those. More visibility etc. etc. Just a thought.
I have a video coming up about that since a few people have asked. But in short - I’m not interested in what they’re selling on the V4s- besides the lithium battery. I prefer the looks of the standard V4 and with the almost $7000 price difference you can do a LOT of awesome mods that make your standard V4 unique.
I’m neutral about the wings. Since they’re pointless and just for looks under, I think, 80+ mph for it to be somewhat useful. Unless you track, there’s really zero use for these. Not sure but yah. Like those civics with spoilers, don’t do anything 🤷🏻♂️ Also what about getting racing fairings and paint that. Keep this for when you sell it? I’m planning on that since I have Bayliss and want to keep oem safe.
Yeah I tend to keep my bikes forever so I’ll worry about that many years from now. But if I was going to sell it in a few years I’d definitely think about getting another set of bodywork. Definitely a good idea for you though. That Bayliss bodywork is special! 😎
Hey not sure if you figured it out already but you have to remove the side fairings and then the wings are just held on by 2 screws (at least on the 2022 and up models).
I think you could try to do a swap to earlier V4 fairings but you'd lose the extra cooling fins and considering how HOT that bike runs I'm not sure that'd be a good idea. LOL
Ah fairs that makes sense. I got a 2017 Ducati 959 and gosh that runs hot. I'm lucky that I live in the UK so its kinda a luxury most of the year but on the hotter days wheres its 23c and above it kinda becomes pretty uncomfortable. Also have you thought about wrapping it rather than respraying it? Don't know if its actually cheaper or more expensive.
Wingless removes the aerodynamics. This is not a good idea if you drive the bike like it’s built to be driven. You really need all the stability and traction you can get, on those long fast curves.
Well, it makes the bike look like a V2 but I understand what you mean. It looks cleaner without the wings.
Yes, definitely is a cleaner look without the wings.

I don’t understand why you remove the wings but you keep those horrible looking mirrors
I was waiting for a video from your end...this is nice...no wings is good..
🔥
Did I see Ooooooooh Ooooooooh Oooooooooooh lins at the end??? Lesssss gooooo!!
Oooohleeens! It is happening. Box 1 of 3 in the next video so stay tuned!
I just traded my Aprilia RS660 for a MV Agusta F3 RC..
You think an MV F3 is still a great bike or changed your opinion based on the V4?
Congrats on the F3 RC! Cool ride. 😎 Well the F3 is better looking, handling and a more comfortable bike compared to the V4 - in my opinion. But in every other area the V4 is superior. I hate useless appendages hanging off a bike! Even on tracks I go to the straights are not long enough for me to get over 170 so wings are useless
Wingless is cleaner
Ones who say the wings are awesome are ones that are posers or do not own a bike at all or both
and your first track day is this year? It will be great for your soul
Will definitely do a track day with this bike at some point. I'm sure it'll be awesome. Just have to work it out with my schedule.
Looks great. Could be even better with red electrical tape!

Brilliant, they were idiotic. But now you have holes in fairings :( and it is actually worse

Yes. I’ll be uploading the heat shield review video right after my next video so stay tuned.
How did you manage to remove the wings? I'm trying to remove them from my bike to make a covering but I can't... Did you have to cut anything? 🥲
Hey not sure if you figured it out already but you have to remove the side fairings and then the wings are just held on by 2 screws (at least on the 2022 and up models).
@@amv_moto Thank you !!! I managed it but it was very difficult to remove the screws because they didn't want to come out 😂

Ducati wings look stupid, Aprilia it looks like a proper system integrated into the computational dynamics, Ducati?? Bolt on garbage.
Glad you post another vid. Btw, you might want to change the background theme song.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah I’m planning to update the intro at some point. Stay tuned. 😎
