      Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, the bike cover is a good first step. Definitely recommend it for anyone taking a road trip.

    My protips. Purchase a small round magnet and put it on the front disk lock where the key goes. When you park the bike and install the disk lock, take the magnet out and put it on the ignition key slot on the bike. This way, when you get on the bike you are automatically reminded to remove the lock from the disk before you put the key in the bike. Also, consider getting some hard tie-down links for your bike. This gives your bike places where a tow truck can connect to your bike without tearing it up. Also, bring along a set of soft tie-down extensions. Review with your local bike shop the best way to use them. Most tow truck drivers don't care about your bike and run big hooks with chains. Ouch!!

    Hooked on this damn journey!! love your video flow and post! Where the magic happens. First Aid, just in case, I also carry stun-gun cause you never know. Of course a pocket knife but laws may differ on some states like TX. Odd that they have a tougher knife law then we do. BTW cover, great idea. But for "alarm, I have hidden device (1 x 2 x 4 inch) in the bike with remote and works just like what you have but nothing to carry and nothing protecting it from rolling though. Love the rear lock, gotta get me one. Thanks for these ideas! Keep up the great vids!

      Glad you enjoyed the TX videos. Yeah I’ve got to add a little First Aid kit. Good idea! I’ve got a couple of cool V4 trips planned for the summer so stay tuned! 😎

    I just discovered your channel today and already became a huge fan after watching your road trip.
    On my Street Triple I went on trips to sequoia, mexico and other places but never as far as Texas haha.
    You've totally inspired me and made me shut up about my new Supersport's heat problems. I've decided to go on a long roadtrip at the end of this month after watching your trip.
    One tip I have is if you have Sena or Cardo (bluetooth communication device), using Shure215 foam earphones with it is a total game changer. I've noticed Airpod pros don't reduce wind noise after 60~70 miles but these will work just like earplugs with great music quality.
    Keep up the good videos you madman!!

      YAASS! Glad you enjoyed the video and glad it inspired you to take a trip of your own. Yes, I want to show people about the experience of road tripping on a V4 but I also secretly hope to motivate other riders to take motorcycle trips of their own! Thanks for the tip on the Shure 215s. I’ll have to check those out. Btw, planning my next trip for the end of the summer so stay tuned. It should be a good one! 😎

    Compression sacks are helpful for camping stuff like tarps, hammocks, bike covers. It helps squeeze out unnecessary square inches in a backpack.

    Welcome back AMV! Good video, I have the same disc lock but I had to remove the battery as the wind keep triggering the alarm when the bike was parked outside. The AirTag is a good idea, didn’t think about that. Anti theft devices are a must in the UK sadly.
    How’s the F3/F4? I guess they feel pretty slow now compared to the V4 isn’t it?
    Looking forward to the mod series 👍🏻 btw big 44teeth fan here too 😂

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah - my day job was really intense at the start of this year but I'm hoping to get a bunch of videos uploaded over the next few months. Luckily my Xena hasn't given me any false alarms so far but I've heard about other riders getting them. An Airtag definitely gives you a bit of piece of mind. Just make sure you remove the speaker (plenty of videos on YT) so a thief can't find it. The F3 & F4 are thankfully still running well but yeah - pretty much anything would feel slow next to a V4. Ha! Best motorcycle channel on TH-cam - 44Teeth FTW!

    Wait. You mean you didn't park the bike inside the hotel room?
    I took a road trip to Not Cal years ago and asked for a 1st floor room. Guy at the desk said no because he thought I was going to bring the bike in the room. I look at him like, "What's wrong with that?" 😂

    Do you by chance have a link to the first cover you showed? That one looks great for indoor use

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. I just updated the links in the description to add that one. Yes, the one I used was more of an indoor cover but it worked just fine for me outdoors since there was no rain during my trip. I might see rain on my next road trip so I'll be using my new waterproof cover (the 2nd one listed).

    you should get a something like a helmet intercom like Sena, my battery lasts 12 hours under constant music + gps and occasionally talking to someone else.

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was going to try out a Sena. But the foam tipped AirPods worked so well I didn’t end up getting it. The Sena sounds like a good option though. 👍

    Nice video, I am planning a road trip soon with my KTM Super Duke R. A couple of questions:
    1. What was your point of origin?
    2. Did you disable the speaker on the Apple AirTag? (There’s a good YT video showing you how to do it.)

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video! I started in Los Angeles so the entire trip to Texas was 2800 miles (4500 km) roundtrip. Yes, I disabled the speaker on the Airtag (forgot to mention that in the video). Well worth it to give youself a little more piece of mind.

    mate... if you have your bike fully insured, why bother? :D

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. But $500 insurance deductible + the cost and hassle of getting back home from wherever it was stolen + the hassle of dealing with the insurance company + waiting another 3-4 months for a new V4 to come from Ducati. That all sounds annoying so yeah definitely worth trying to stop it from getting stolen. 😎
