You said no commentary yet there is some speech at the start of video I don't get it 😅
I had to give some commentary to let people know there is no commentary 😅
This guy and his videos are commedy gold😅
Move over Peter Kay….. thanks for watching!
Most of ridee seems 2b on main roads depressing
It follows national cycle network route 45 which mostly uses quiet lanes and traffic free routes, with the occasional bit of B road linking them. It’s honestly a lovely route, thanks for watching!
Great job there mate, I really enjoyed that👍
Thank you, very kind and thanks for watching!
Can anyone tell me if there is a book that gives canal rides so i can do this type of ride
I am not aware of any books for canal cycling but I have a few other videos using canals. There is also a great Facebook group ‘cycling uk canals and old railways’ which is a great place to look. Thanks for watching!
Can't watch this, every time you speed it up, it makes me feel ill. Shame as I would like to have watched the whole video
Maybe try some of my other videos, it’s not something I use too often. Thanks for watching what you managed!
@ your videos are first class, I wished I could watch all of them, you put a lot of time and effort into filming your rides, I will try some others and see how it goes, but I would have liked to have watched this video, as it was a trip I was looking to do.
Thank you, very nice of you to say!
Great vid, really enjoyed that
Thank you glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Walsall born n bread but livin in Brum.....walked these canals MANY TIMES! good vid!! 👍
So many’s canals, hoping to explore more around the West Midlands next year. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
This is a cycling wonderland. Very inspiring. However, I have a mancold and need to rest, plus the scenery here isn't as lush anyway.. 🤷🏽♂️
It really is an amazing area for cycling. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for watching!
Superb video, well done👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Thanks
Your welcome! Thank you!
The car that you passed not far from Dolgellau was a Lancia Delta HF Turbo, a great car, a great video also!
Indeed a great car! Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching!
Wolverhampton Wheelers reliablity ride, "The Barmouth and back". From West Park.
Will have to check that out, not sure I could manage there and back though! Thanks for watching!
Loved it. Absolutely stunning part of the world there. Visited NW and many parts of the UK in 2016 but didn't touch a bicycle. I'd make sure I do next visit though. Great informative commentary as well. 🍺😎👍
Glad you liked my commentary and hope you get to try some of the route at some point. Thanks for watching!
Another great video mate. Obviously I've already watched the various parts but it's still good to watch. My final cycling ambition is to cycle to the sea from my house in Wolverhampton.
Yeah a compilation this one but I think this is the best route from the West Midlands to the coast so thought it was worth putting together so glad you like it. Hope you get to do it from Wolves at some point and thanks for watching!
Just had the chance to watch this all the way through, brilliant, well done. I usualy ride from Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Welshpool then just follow the road to Barmouth over some quite big climbs so this will be a nice change. I'll be using my old school touring bike carrying tent etc. as I find this handles the roads and tracks really well and has better gearing then my gravel bike for the big climbs. Thanks again!
This route has a couple of climbs, or maybe even just one big one depending on how you class them, but they are on quieter roads and the scenery is amazing, it’s a great route and hope you get to try it out! Thanks for watching!
Another brilliant and informative video you knowledge of everywhere is outstanding. Looks a great route like the bit where you can get a train back 😅
Being able to catch the train to/from Barmouth is a big plus point for this one! I wish I could say I had all that knowledge but I do a lot of research for the videos to help me out, so glad it’s appreciated. Thanks for watching!
I like your videos, although the title is slightly misleading. It would have been nice to also find out where you would camp and stay along the way. It’s not really bike packing, is it? 😂
I maintain it’s a bike packing route but take your point that I did not actually bike pack it myself, so apologies if I mislead you. As I said in the video I would do this in two days and camp around the Welsh Border, my choice would be the boat house camp site next to the Severn at Llandrinio bridge so hope that helps 😃 however people have different ideas for bike packing and I know some would sleep in a hedge anywhere lol. Glad you like the videos and thanks for watching!

It was indeed! Thanks for watching!
Planning to do it soon. On my motorbike😂 I did Birmingham to Lands End and back in one day one my motorbike if it counts.

Gorgeous car. Thanks for watching!
@cyclingn8 I live on canal in tipton
Some lovely canal routes around there!
Really lovely ride
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Yes nescliff camp was an ordinance depot before ww2 During ww2 it was turned into a pow camp until 1948 . When it became a training camp mainly for cadets and territorial army . Ordinance bunkers were other side of the road . With a couple at back of the camp . Still in use today by cadets and reservists sleeping and using same old tin huts the prisoners used
Thank you sharing that, I love to know the history of these types of places. Thanks for watching!
I used to ride the route but a circular 25 mile through Perry bar. It was nice to see it again
So many loops to ride in Birmingham with all the canals, thanks for watching!
Is it possible to take a different turn at the Barmouth bridge to get to Aberystwyth?
You could go left, through fairbourne and along the road to Aber, but think it is a busy road. Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Thank you, very kind!
Great video as always, i live right by the Tame Valley Canal and have started to venture on the canals, struggling to get past Oldbury and also Spaghetti Junction without ending up back where i started!
Birmingham is certainly not short on canals which can make tough to navigate! Thanks for watching!
Really love your vids Alas due to age cant contemplate these distances. Hav bought an e bike but 26 miles and battery dead
Glad you like my videos! I think e-bikes are great to get people out who otherwise couldn’t, hopefully you can do some parts of the routes. Thanks for watching!
Llanwddyn is pronounced Llan - u thin. Good luck with your Welsh
My Welsh pronunciation definitely could be improved, thanks for the tip on this one! Thanks for watching!
The ride from Wolves to Brum is one I’ve done so many times being a proud Yam Yam so great to see you like it so much. Coseley tunnel is a cinch compared to Netherton!!
Netherton is quite the experience, did that on my Black Country loop video if you haven’t seen it already and good lights are essential, enjoyed it though. Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Thank you, very kind!
On my to do list for next year Wolverhampton to Barmouth and back. Great video👍
Thank you glad you enjoyed it and good luck with the ride next year! Thanks for watching!
I've never been on such amaze of canals as that section under the M5, so easy to get lost!
It can be very confusing if you don’t know where you’re going, such a shame the main towpath has been closed for so long! Thanks for watching!
Well thought out and informative 👍
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Another great informative video, well done , I did the ride round lake Vernwy in November from my static about 6 miles away, love that part of Wales and I often travel to Barmouth for days out but I've never crossed the rail bridge, maybe next time
A really beautiful part of the world! So lucky to have it close by, thanks for watching!
Excellent ride mate and great knowledge 👌👌🇬🇧
Thank you glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Black Country..... black by day red by night
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful. In the Year of Our Lord 2001, I spent two months in Bilston and it was a fantastic time. I was very much hoping you would have gotten off the footpath and done a tour but no luck. Nonetheless I very much enjoyed the scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it, you might enjoy my Black Country loop video too if you haven’t watched it already. Thanks for watching!
@@cyclingn8 Will do. I usually carry my tent and sleeping bag on my bike. Can I put up the tent right on the side of the bike path or is this prohibited? Usually I setup right after dusk and gone at first light. In some places in the US this is "prohibited" but if one doesn't make a mess, the worst they do is make you move along. Many thanks!
Very similar in England and wales (Scotland has different laws for this). Mostly prohibited but generally accepted that if you setup late, leave early and leave no trace it’s OK.
Never thought I hear Bilston praised 😊
Bilston is Bostin our kid!
Did Vrynwy to Barmouth and back a few years ago, the climb up the Bwlch is a monster and will definitely be a sting if you're doing this route in one go. Great stuff 👍
A very tough climb, but amazing scenery as a reward! Thanks for watching!
I was cycling once from Macclesfield to Stoke and took Biddulph Valley way as well. That part between canal and Biddulph nearly kill me😁 it is smooth climbing, not big but long enough that I had to take a rest twice😂
It is a noticeable climb! Thanks for watching!
Great Ride, the car Lancia Delta Integrale in Martini Racing Colours, very nice
Was a real treat to see the Lancia, put a smile on my face. Thanks for watching!
Great ride, and good editing. Thanks for the video. 👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Another route to add to my list - many thanks!. I might wait for an easterly wind, though.
That’s would definitely be a helping hand! Thanks for watching!
Or get a train to Barmouth and ride back, there’s more often a westerly :)
That might work better! Get the hills out the way early too!
great video, that's my plan for Christmas cycling
Thank you, hope you enjoy the route when you do it and it’s not too muddy on the unsurfaced bits. Thanks for watching!
@@cyclingn8 it looks better than some parts of Worcester- Birmingham Canal. The worst thing is protruding roots.
