Good to hear! There’s so many cool things to build besides badass space marines 😊. I mean I like those too, but I think there’s more interesting things to do with the other human factions
I love your work, what do you do for the white shoulder pads? Painting consistent white over black is giving me so much trouble
@@Luneth yeah that’s tough! It might help to start with a layer of gray before moving to straight white, but overall just use thin paint and add heaps of layers. It will start to look good eventually! You just need even coverage.
I found this video while looking for inspiration for some dark mechanicus scratch builds for a horus heresy army. The mechanicum torque is now one of my favourite warhammer conversions ever! Excellent work!

I started with 5th edition and these really capture the vibe of that era of art work when the marines felt baroque and old with a lot of character.
@@graefx yeah there was some very cool artwork of proper gothic marines in that edition as well! Would love gw to bring that back at some point…

GW has been really shiny and plain with it's depiction of 40k in general, but everything from Space Marine 2 has brought back the Gothic and esoteric aesthetics that I love. Maybe the strong reaction will make GW want to bring some of that to the forefront and capitalize

What kits did you use?
The legs are cataphractii terminator, the torso is tartaros terminator, fairly certain the shoulders are from chaos terminators. Helmet seems to be pre-primaris mk7
@perturabosomething5958 welll, that’s spot on! 👍👍 Only thing I can add is that the arms are grey knight termi, and the weapon is a 2nd ed plastic bolter. And some greenstuff here and there. There’s a video on this guy a while back.

This is a great video. thank you for it! Are you using Green Stuff World silicon clay shaper tools? They have different hardnesses and I'm not sure which one would be best.
Many thanks! I don’t know that I have the GSW ones, could be. I only have one hardness, which I think is the regular one. If I need anything else than those ones I always to to metal tools. I don’t feel the need for anything in between.

The new Terminators are a mixed blessing. The bigger size is nice, but the monopose build is a downgrade. I bought multiple boxes of the old terminators, because they are so versatile. I mixed the components with other kits like the Deathwing and Wolfguard to make lots of unique terminators. More than one squad of the new ones would start to look very generic and monotonous without some invasive surgery just to add variety. And the new Deathwing box is just an upgrade pack for those same poses. We can expect the same for Blood Angels, SpaceWolves etc. Disappointing
Yeah I really hope they do something more for the Assault variants and the wolfguard/BA ones, because just weapons swapping is not going to cut it. Or we will have to start cutting it in that case! 😁

Storm Hawk. Storm Fang. Storm Shield. Storm Seer. Storm Cast. Storm Strike. Storm Surge. Storm Host. Storm Cannon. Storm Hammer. Storm Lord. Storm Eagle. etc..
😂 I think this exact list is somewhere on the wall at HQ. Also containing a list of themes like dark mirror and dark opposite that they’ve been going on about for a while now.
