- After previous video's rant on headphones, let's get back to some proper hobbying!
Tired of all your Firstborn looking the same? Do you want to build some Veterans of the Long War? Let's swap some bitz!
After last time's shiny Primaris, let's get down and gritty with some Horus Heresy. In this vid I try some easy swaps with the current plastic HH kits. Heads, arms and shoulder pads from tactical kits and primaris, but also terminators, some chaos bitz and some other cool stuff. Oh, and let's see what doesn't fit: Scions, Skitarii and Eldar!

Thanks for the video. The nu-HH marines heads and thighs still look weirdly scaled imo. The Tortuga marines are scaled great but are iffy to come by and only have some good torso/leg designs. Mixing them with firstborn kits works super well for Badab War era Lamenters in my case.
Yeah the heads are a bit weird, I'm not too worried about the thighs though. Tortuga makes some amazing models too, I just hoped they might take a different route than 'just' more realistically sized versions of existing models... But I can't blame them, I imagine those sell the best.
If I may suggest, I would appreciate closer shots of the figures and a few still images to see the proportions on them. It would feel much clearer.
Good point! I will try that for the next video 👍
I think when you look at the Raven Guard upgrade pack that beaky looks small. I’ve been collecting beakys for years the og rogue trader helmets are huge. I’m working on beaky terminators and everyone is going to hate that
@Riddler_von have you compared them to Horus Heresy beakies yet? Curious to know whether they’re smaller or not. And I’m curious about the beaky termies!
I love how giddy you get putting rediculous combinations together. "Hehehe" goblin noises xD 6:11
Hahaha yeah I almost cut them out but those proportions were just too hilarious to me 😂
Would love to see different bits being used on the Guilliman & Lion models
Ah yeah I'm very interested in that too, because of the size difference. I don't have either of them available though, but maybe in a future video!
Great video. I was thinking about picking up some assault intercessors and swapping their arms with my mk 3 and vise versa to make some despoilers and hellblasters and was a bit worried about the scale. Very helpful on that front.
Good to hear, glad it helped! 👍
Excellent comparsion video. Looking forward to next one. 👍
Great to hear, thanks!
New HH minis are big better proportions. I’m lucky I’m a Raven Guard player because they are known to be on the smaller size for marines chapters. I am mixing hh and primaris and works well
They definitely size up better than the old firstborn kits! I do think the helmets are a bit on the small side though, even if the bare heads mostly have good proportions compared to the primaris. Which is weird, but hey.
Plan for next video sounds interesting!
Thanks! I will definitely go ahead on this path then :)
New Heresy Marines have very small heads. They look very funny for me.
Thank you for a great tutorial!
Yeah they seem to be a bit smaller for some reason. But the old heads fit fine, luckily! Thanks!
Really helpful vid.
Great to hear, thanks!
what helmet was used in the thumbnail art? i don't recognize it from the video
It's from the Reivers kit! One without the helmet.
Personally I find the Primaris arms on the Heresy marines are too long. Makes them too Ape-like in proportion
it depends a bit on the arms for me, some are indeed a bit too long. But if you cut off a bit from the top you can glue them on up higher and the difference will be hidden below the shoulder pad.
