Artistic Shots of Retro Computers and Games. Only Real Stuff, No Emulation. History, Culture and Nostalgia. Legendary Machines and Games Reviewed.
This channel focuses on authenticity: vintage software running on original hardware and CRT display. Scanlines Rule!
It doesn't seek technical achievements by tweaking machines and pushing hardware to its limits like other channels do. It seeks beauty in retro. Making beautiful shots of vintage stuff to show you the best perspective on retro machines and to reveal the artistic aspect of early video games. Watch lovely pixels and listen to glorious soundtracks from early games!
Since I have an awful French accent, most of the voice over is done by English-speaking colleagues reading my scripts. I've made several takes where I explain this unusual situation, because I want to be transparent with my viewers.

ChatGPT: can Modern AI take Retro Computing to the Next Level?
msx is the best....
Something about the c64 that is just awesome. It's the audio style it makes me feel 13 again
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
is this an MSX1 or MSX2 computer?
MSX1 Yashica YC-64
Great video ! i collect all of this computer
My favourite 8 bit computer from the 80s thanks to Konami. Had an MSX1 and 2. Don’t look back at my ZX Spectrum or Amiga with the same nostalgia. 😊😊😊
Same here! Very personal about MSX
Sorry not 90s meant 80s 😊😊😊😊
I’m from the UK, I first got a Toshiba HX10 when I swapped my ZX Spectrum for one after I saw Antarctic Adventure in a local shop. I loved it got Nemesis 1 and 2, Salamander, Knightmare plus many others. Signed up for the Konami newsletter which was great. I later had a Philips MSX2 which I swapped for an Amiga 500. I absolutely loved this despite it’s faults. My favourite computer of the 90s and still play through emulation.
Thanks for sharing, Mark! That's comforting to know I wasn't the only one European with a MSX system :)
this is some top-notch production quality. Great lighting and placement of the objects along with the cool classic PC XD
Thanks a lot, I appreciate
retro is the best!! game gear is cool. i never had one but i like it yours is great with the ips and usb!
i loved that rrtro ibm playing ultima !! seeing the drive busy light.....which is your favorite out of all your hardware?
Haha difficult question... Atari, Amiga, IBM... like them all! Yet the dearest is my MSX, it's my first and I kept it since 1984
@RetroDream oh wow! msx ! thats awesome! 1984 was a great year as well.do you have a video of this msx?
Awesome. Really enjoyed that, great work.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your interest!
I'm blown away!
Where is the remixed music from?
Remix64
I had all three machines in the 80's (though not at the same time). The C64 still my favourite machine to this day.
I can understand that. Thanks for sharing
Porn.
Ah yea.. back when finishing a game was not a given:D Awsome times!
Had to toil through all of it :)
Ahhh... sweet memories, I remember running this one on my PC with 8 MB RAM and a Diamond Stealth card when it came out, what a blast
I had the bare minimum configuration
that is absolutley awesome!! i never had a ibm or amiga or st back then ...those game looked and sounded fantastic...i want one now!!
I had a Bare Minimum PC
@@RetroDream wow
How to run DCS on 8086😀
You can use win3 on PC1640 with EGA driver from win2.
Where is 16 colors in special CGA mode?
Couldn't try that on the monochrome display
what kind of sound system is this?
Roland mt-32
I remember a guy I was sharing a house with back in the day became obsessed with this game. Every day, he was praising it for how good it was. He got really far and then he got completely stuck. He was very frustrated about it. Of course, back then there was no GameFAQs or anything like that.
Did he got through eventually?
@@RetroDream Not as far as I know
This is amazing! Love the lighting, the atmosphere… Brings back lots of memories from my childhood.
Glad you enjoyed it! If it brought childhood memories back to you, then the goal is achieved
I totally forgot this one was a Talkie
Me too until I replayed it
C64 took this by some margin. That SID chip is something to behold.
C64 & Amiga were the best gaming platforms of their time
Video eccellente,adoro la versione C64 e AMIGA!
C64 the best!
this approach is great, nicely done. I learnt a few things watching it through this way, thanks
Glad you did!
C64 all the way 🤟
I see an apple//. There is an Arkanoid for the apple. It would have been "Arkanoid on five Computers at once". And if the apple// version sucks, i suggest you get your hands on an apple//gs. :)
Yea, currently trying to buy Apple software. Five is better for sure :)
i love seeing all these great computers playing arkaniod...awesome!
Glad you enjoyed
@RetroDream 👍
All these years later and the atari still sounds like crap. LOL
I am an Amiga Fan but…. The sound of the C64 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ The C64C 😍 The Amiga 👍 The ST 👎 The PC 🤫
Those PC speaker sound effects are something to behold!
Indeed, a piece of work!

Nothing beats the theme music on c64 by Martin Galway
Fabulous
MSX cartridge version came with a paddle controller called Vaus. MSX 2 version of the sequel also came with a paddle in different colours
Good to know, thanks 😊
how about amstrad cpc? better than c64 me think
Absolutely. Currently in the process of getting an adequate display for it
Un petit CPC en plus et ça aurait été parfait !
Dès que je trouve un de ses écrans qui ne sente pas le vieux plastique à 10km
Nice. I was playing it yesterday in my arcade :)
Lucky :)
Not a lot of difference between 8-bit and 16-bit. Amazing really.
The C64 was really good yes. Also to be fair it's not a complicated game ;)
Very nice! Arkanoid was one of the games that played well on all systems... along with Bubble Bobble, Pang, Golden Axe, Xenon, Prince of Persia, Lemmings, and some more... it seems that good programming makes good ports
Glad you enjoyed it! You could add Tetris to that list, but not so sure about Xenon
@@RetroDream Tetris was nice on PC, but not as good on other systems, and horrible on Amiga.. maybe I should have added "New Zealand Story", "Robocop" and "Batman the Movie"
Arkaniod, Bubble Bobble, and Tetris, were the first games I acquired for my MSX2+ and couldn’t be happier. I recently picked up Golden Axe for the WonderSwan Color and that’s also an excellent port!
@tradinglive That's right, it was awful indeed on the Amiga and Atari ST... Such a shame
Huuuumm
Yea
Fascinated about how good the CPC version looked...
It's really good indeed
Since the game gear runs master system perfectly, then it can be a portable tv with a game gear tuner
Absolutely 💯
I haven’t read all the comments, but I want to thank you for helping me experience my early teen years again. Dungeon Master was my most played game. In America, I don’t remember the small ‘e’ or other branding for different versions. I started with an Atari 400, then Atari 800, then 520 ST, and finally the 1040 ST. I went full DOS/Windows after a long break from computers. I actually stood in a line for one of the Windows releases. Probably XP. I’m pretty much an Apple guy at this point. Is there some sort of port for Dungeon Master to be played on a Mac? It was such a great game!
Glad you enjoyed this little trip to the past, and thanks for sharing your own experience with this wonderful machine. Actually it sounds like you've gone through a large spectrum of computer/systems! Not sure about Mac port for DM, but definitely DOS/Windows.
Even an 8 bit GBC can kinda run it
nope
The convertor doesnt play xenon 2 trying to find a fix 😢
really? that's strange
Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed
