I agree it's always best to get a watch in as full a set as possible, and I've had many many dozens of them. But it's also super liberating to get a watch as is, as long as it's one you really really want, in great condition, from a trusted seller. And I've had a few of those too. I just bought the titanium version of this electric blue, on the Ti Bond bracelet. I searched for friggin' years to find one, got it at a great price because of no B/P's and never plan to sell it. it's perfect! And now it's just my watch, with no additional paraphernalia taking up space in my house.

The Kiss Heuer is the watch we wanted… Tag has been kithin’ it up since they bought Heuer in the 1980s. The Kith founder is a total dingus who’s the nephew of some big sneaker guy in NYC - gleaned it from the comments on a Hodinkee vid I couldn’t finish. I hate fast fashion and overpriced gear made with Chinese slave labor.

Rolex merch are also highly collectible especially the older merch which are mostly made in leather. I believe Rolex knows this hence they are testing out the market with the cufflinks.

Spot on about the Explorer40 - it is just too big. I currently wear the MN-FXD and despite its size and L2L, it wears extremely well but a watch that size without a timing/GMT bezel is too big. The 1016 was a perfect watch but Rolex Kithed* it up with the tarted up squared arabics. I sold my 114270 because I really wanted a 1016. *kithed, tagged - synonyms for effed up taken from Tag and the things they’ve done to Heuer since its acquisition in the 1980s. Kith specifically refers to the new Kith watches, Kith on the dial.

That Sprite’s one heck of a paperweight! I like that Omega fob! Now I want a Rolex clasp fob - imagine if Rolex sold those. Maybe you should be making their merch or selling your own key fobs - you did an awesome job, man! I have an MRG (G-Shock with a clasp that I click because it’s satisfying. It’s prolly just me but there’s something about that Rolex wrapping paper. Patek has been doing cufflinks for a long time - saw some on John Reardon’s Collectability site.

There’s a sapphire case back on them because Blancpain’s movement finishing is incredible and should be seen and admired. They’re a class apart from Submariners or Seamasters in that respect.

Nice vid. Reminds me that I need to get back into a boat. The blue used is incredible - not the saturated Smurf blue from the original Pelagos. The MT5602 is COSC but not METAS - wish it was METAS as the extra robustness would be nice. This one is my GADA all of my suits stay in the closet.

I thought it was called a register of interest? I registered interest in May 2022. Had an email to say the watch I wanted was now discontinued, a couple of weeks ago and ( registered for a Datejust 41 stainless, fluted, oyster green motif) Ask if I would like to change it to something else obviously disappointed so asked for a DJ 41 mint green stainless, fluted on a jubilee and had a call this week! Literally days of being two whole years! Already have a GMT 2 116710LN purchased with out the BS in 2007. Obviously going to register in store for something else when I go collect it. May go OP green dial, then a sports obviously a sub with a dream view for the panda Should have register in 2007 but the waitlist was 5 years and I could not be bothered 😕

If you wear a watch properly the crown isn't anywhere near your hand so doesn't dig in when you bend your wrist.

Everyone's looking at it the wrong way... It not some experiment. They're just appealing to the generation that will care about watches and not the "watch enthusiasts" It sold out instantly because people thought it was cool and that's what the next generation wants: Cool watches. Watch enthusiasts have become so stale and only care about the same boring things. If it's not "worth it" or affordable to the masses people complain. It's become less about actually loving the watch and why it was made and more about can I park my money in this or get a good bargain for my money. The fact that you don't want to know about the Kith part of this collaboration backs just that. The fashion industry follows a much different value system than the watch industry and that's why "watch enthusiasts" are mad.
