Shadow Play is so goddamn boring you'll think it's a Season 6 or 7 episode. And listen, I like camp. I like campy things. I watched Twilight FOR THE FIRST TIME this year and I'd had the time of my life. But this is not camp good. This is camp bad. This is camp "what the hell is going on" bad.

Cece's original storyline would've been so good. Alison's older friend/mentor being the one who was behind it all sounds so cunt. Especially the show hinting that Alison is the way she is because of Cece's influence. I fully believe she was originally going to be "Big A" since Halloween 2008 and Mona was only a team member, "I did everything you asked me to". (Mona's reasoning for being part of the team would make sense if she joined after they started getting close again. Because they only got close BECAUSE of A.) The UPenn motive was actually a motive. Alison pushed the girl at the frat party and blamed Cece because they looked alike. Then she was kicked out and wanted revenge on Alison and the liars because she thought they were in on it. And there was probably some other motive that was scrapped when they pulled Charles out of their ass and retconned Big A during Monas season 4 confession. "Someone stole the game from me in Radley", like okay sure Marlene no one's fooled. I think there was a rough plan for the story during the first 3 seasons. Big A is Red Coat and Mona is part of the team, the NAT club is somehow involved. Theres a reason the show starts making no sense during season 4, because they stopped following their original plan and threw whatever at the screen to shock the audience. It's so obvious once you realize the NAT club was still being talked about during the end of season 3, and the fact that all the members were dropping like flies. I want someone to tell us what was originally planned after season 3 because i feel like it would've been gold.

Yah a PLL video Hope you are doing better now or at least improving by the day. I can relate to the situationship thing. Mine was primarily summer 2022 so over 2 years ago (had been on/off after that but mostly that summer). I’m over it now and have been for awhile. PS I know it wouldn’t be PLL related but once you are comfortable talking about it you should because I think a lot of people will be able to relate. So it might be helpful for you and others as well

in my opinion ill say the switch from aria to spencer w hanna on the sideline was the best thing the show could’ve done. aria and ezra were sooo boring & disgusting once you rewatch as an adult

I'm so confused by Ali's dating history because is she seeing Ian, Wilden, and Ezra all in the same summer? Was there overlap or was she with them all at the same time like I get so confused when I think about it. AND if she dated them all at the same time or at least back to back, how would she know Wilden is the potential father during her pregnancy scare moment, like if she dated them all that close together (or even at the same time), wouldn't it be more like a Mama Mia situation?

I really wish Hanna ended up with Lucas, while I really like Mike as a character I just really loved Hanna and Lucas together, I actually have a bold statement, and couldn’t have happened (if you know you know,)it’s not hinted at in the books, but I really think Jenna and Mike would have actually been really cute together! It could have been a message about how popularity isn’t everything, also unpopular opinion, I did actually like Isaac with Emily, her other love interests either were boring or toxic, Isaac isn’t perfect, but I loved how he completely accepted her Bisexuality Edit: I do have to admit though, I love Maya and Emily, and wished it went down differently between them

Marlene King confirmed at least twice it was supposed to be Wren (but Julian Morris wasn’t available to film enough episodes to make the story possible). Not really a credible excuse tbh :/ Also Marlene said that -A was in the pilot episode: Cece was not. The Halloween episode makes more sense if it was Wren and Melissa in the masks + why Spencer’s twin had to have a “British accent.” And also why A favoured Hannah (at least for little while) and Spencer bc Wren had a fling with both of them 👏

He is so damn fine. Obsessed with his character in PLL. Wish he was added in on a story arc. Same with Mona. Wish they had more scenes of her too.

It annoys me that a lot of these things are clear in the show but then everyone says they’re a plot hole because of something Marlene said in an interview. I didn’t watch her interviews bc she just contradicted the show. The thing with Ian, he did die when he was pushed off the bell tower.

spencer is my favorite liar n to be completely honest I would’ve loved it if she got killed off the way you pitched it. I’m mostly a horror fan so a shitload of my favorite characters are dead anyway (one of my favorite characters Of All Time is amanda young from the saw series. she dies 3 movies in (the original intended stopping point) n that death is my favorite scene throughout all 10 of them), which has given me the perspective of really valuing narratively compelling deaths that highlight the character n story’s themes a lot more than happy endings where everyone gets away safe. storytelling should be less so about giving everyone the endings they deserve n more about giving everyone the endings that make the most sense n are the most interesting, even if that ultimately means them dying in a really cruel manner

I watched this show for the 1st time 2 years after it ended. I love it very much. The premise was so good. I don't if I would've hated it if Wren ended up being A. D., but I think Aria was 100% supposed to be revealed as A at some point. They laid a lot of ground for that. I think they changed it because fans figured it out and Marlene couldn't accept that her young audience figured out her big plan. I mean come on... In the doll house Spencer is made to think she seriously hurt someone. Aria's hair got cut and she had to put a pink streak in. Also outside of revealing to Ella that Byron had an affair and Aria knew. What did A ever really do to Aria. Her and Ezra from episode 1. She had the biggest secret for the longest time. Even after Ezra tells her parents, they start seeing again in secret...A loves secrets...unless it's Aria and Ezra....unreal!!. Aria should have been A maybe A.D. I would've even accepted if we give CCe a different back story in her reveal and Aria knows Allison's unknown twin. They could've met in Radley. No one needed MPD. It could've been so good. End of day she put out so many misdirects and red herrings and wanted to keep the show grounded in the mystery and started too many storylines she didn't know where to go with and they never paid off. I just don't think mysteries were Marlene's strong suit. So many plots dropped... So much wasted potential.

I believe as long as she did not ask him directly hurt Hana Lucas was always "on" the A team. He hated Allison just as much and wasn't very forgiving of the other girls in early seasons except Hana. I think a few people helped Mona and season 3 could've done a good job keeping A "alive" through those characters with Mona puppet mastering from Radley.

The liars "dreams"/encounters with Allison were actual encounters I've always believed. They play with because every time a liar sees her there's a chemical element involved. Emily has carbon monoxide poisoning, Aria had been giving sleep medication, and Hana and Spencer were in pain meds. Spencer did see her in her living room Allison left the door open I assume having to leave quickly., But she saw after Jason gave them that blue bag of junk. Whatever Allison tells Spencer leads her to to start looking at the newspaper.

Mona didn't know she killed Bethany because she knew she had hit Allison in the head and then would later find her on the road. The reason she realizes she killed Bethany during the CeCe reveal s because CeCe says she hit Allison is the back of the head with a rock. She didn't know who killed Bethany until she learned that Cece hit Allison in the back of the head. Until that moment Bethany's death was a mystery to Mona. She truly believed she had hit Allison. Of all the things you covered this one was explained well. If you watch the episode "Game Over Charles", the moment CeCe explains she hit Allison thinking she was Bethany is the moment Mona realizes she hit Bethany not Allison And I believe she was shocked and surprised to see her walking around that, that's why she told her to leave and never come back stating whoever hit may try it again.
