Welcome to episode two of my digital Lego city. Here I finish off the alleyway. I'm also experimenting to see how a few 'custom' parts to work in my digital city. Specifically around switches and curved tracks. I constructed the buildings in Studio and then exported it as a LDraw file. After that, I used the ImportLDraw Blender plugin (it's free) to import the LDraw file into Blender. City play...

Amazing! And super cheep compare to real Lego. Maybe I'll switch to it, but its killing me, I do work in office and on computer 8h a day, so after I need digital "decompression", "detoxication", not more on it
bruhh, nothinh was working, then i realised my blender verision was 2.9. haven't been able to follow any tutorials since 2020 😭😭😭😭 edit: blender 4.3 is so much better and stuff actually works now
this is still so mind tunringly awsome hope u doa video showing ur setup for creation the renders and stuff like that in more detail
thanks! I do have a video coming up, a behind the scenes kind of things. Just hadn't had the time finish it off yet...it's coming though!
WOW.💥Well done. Exactly what I wanted to build. Very realistic.💯 May I ask...are your buildings downloadable, with list of parts?? If so, where? Please let me know. Thank you so much for a very intetesting series.🙏🙏
thanks. The buildings aren't downloadable yet. its a bit hard to do so b/c they are actually built as multiple .io files and stuff like that.
You should collaborate with some blender animators to make a short film! Your "set designs" are probably the best I've ever seen. Possibly @LegoMe_TheOG
These have been incredible updates! Maybe an overview? Or interiors
Thanks! I think some structures will have a interior, like the pier. I think that'll be pretty cool to build out the inside of that. Good point on the overview, maybe I should do one after the next few buildings..
Yep that's factory indeed
Can't wait for EP 9😊😊😊
I’m gonna love this series i just subscribed
Those look fantastic!
thanks!
I'd love for your studio-files to be on rebrickable, but I do understand if that never happens.
Looks amazing. I hope you can build it all in Lego one day!
hopefully, maybe!
@ nice, do you think you would re-color some of the pieces? I don’t think those x-beams come in that color.
@@American-g8z hi, yeah, that's interesting. Some of my builds do use colors that are rare, old, or Lego doesn't make it (yet) for a specific piece. I guess if I ever make an of them in real life I'll have to find substitutes. While the colors are real Lego colors, trying make sure that color exists for a piece was taking a bit too much "fun" out of the process. So I decided to just keep going...especially at this stage of my city where I'm just trying to build out my dreams..lol
@@CanosieLabs of course! That’s what Lego’s about anyway, having fun. Keep up the great work man!
That is impressive. Good work!
thanks!
Great work. I have visited Ontario a few times. Would you consider a mini Algonquin Park section on your layout?
hi, I do want to eventually model homes and parks. Specifically, building out cool looking Lego trees. Not just factories. I've been to Algonquin Park many times too.
That already looks insane!!! How long did you need to just design that in Bricklink Studio?
hi, hmm that's hard to say, its part of a much larger building and I sort of worked on it off and on for the past month or so...
Piping spaghet.
lol indeed!
Just make sure that those chemicals don't spill out or you may get a Joker born in the city and then you will have a crimewave on your hands.
Pretty nice
thanks!
This city is fantastic, I wish I lived in it!
Of course, once this is finished digitally, you have to build it in reality.... That I'll be another awesome series. :)

wow the handheld camera shake's the only thing that gives it away awesome work!
thanks!
I saw your first video last week. I liked it so much that I spontaneously started building an industrial building inspired by you. Thanks, keep up the great videos.
that's awesome, glad you are getting inspiration from the videos!
Very nice
nah man you build better without bricks than me with ones
Wow, would love to be able to do that too!
Stunning work Canosie!
bro this build is crazy
Hi from Germany, very, very great. 👍👍👍 I have Never Seen so beautifull Lego Design. Greetings Jochen
From a Buffalo native, glad we could help lol
lol
The videos are real just all designed on a program first
I would love to see instructions for this on rebrickable soi could recreate this my self
It looks so good and realistic
One of the most unique series on yt and consistently so inspiring! Cannot wait to see what you do in the next one!
you are a genius. i love you
You attention to detail amazes me every time. Not just in the buildings and surroundings, but small piles of bricks lying around in the empty spaces to make this feel even more like it is real. Or using randomly colored bricks for hidden walls, because it is typically cheaper to use those than a particular color. Beyond that I just love the industrial style.
thanks!
one day you should just drop an episode where everything is replaced with the build but real, but not tell anyone, and see how long it takes for people to realise
Technically, would it be possible to make the city explorable with VR/AR? It would obviously require lowering the rendering fidelity to make it run in real time, but I'm imagining how cool it would be to experience this amazing project in AR at a LEGO convention.
Are you going to creat a sort of downtown? Anyway, best city on youtube
I'm more of a medieval lego fan and that's what I watch/build the most, but this series has me absolutely hooked!!! What an incredible idea to do everything digital, you're clearly an expert at it and it makes everything look 100% better. Can't wait for another episode!
The rendering of this is just insane. I am still not sure if the whole room is fake or if you composited the model into a real Room. But as there is no need for a room like this if you build digitally my final guess would be that the whole room is fake.
hi, the whole room is fake. you can see a couple more pics of it in a older community post.
I don’t think you have to over detail every building. I really like the yellow/beige building and I think the amount of detail in it is perfect: very realistic. The red building you added is cool but if you add more high detailed buildings next to it, it will quickly look too busy and not as realistic.
hi, thanks for the feedback! yeah, it's a interesting balance. I used to model HO scale stuff, so before I would focus on only realism. The challenging thing with this Lego city is that I also want to make sure it stays in line with the "Lego" level of realism and still making it look like it it's still part of the Lego ecosystem
Fantastic update. Love that you used multiple color bricks in the temporary wall. Makes it feel like it will be hidden so the color doesn't matter. I am always so fascinated on all the mechanical ductwork and roof equipment as well as all the piping routing. It is so well thought through.
incredible attention to detail!!! these are some of the best builds ive seen :)
yet again, phenomenal work. keep it up!
This is absolutely a masterpiece I’ve tried to download the brick link studio hopefully one day it’ll work
Your techniques and part usage are excellent. As is your eye for details and interesting color blocking.
