  • So I really wanted to use geometry nodes to create raspberries in Blender. I think the results are pretty good.
    Some of the nodes are not available anymore in the newest version of Blender. That's just the way it goes sometimes :(
    I have uploaded a .blend file for free if you want to see how to convert the old geometry nodes to the new ones. You can downloaded for free here:

    Some of the nodes are not available anymore in the newest version of Blender. That's just the way it goes sometimes. The important part is the concept.
    I have uploaded a .blend file for free if you want to see how to convert the old geometry nodes to the new ones. You can downloaded for free here:
    canosielabs.gumroad.com/l/ynkbb
    Details:
    The actual geometry node setup can be converted to the newest supported version.
    The point distribute and point instance nodes can be easily converted to use distribute point on faces and instances on points notes.
    For the portion that determines the limit on how high the fruitlets should populate can't so easily be described text. However, I use the exact same method in my strawberry video so you can do the conversion by looking there. th-cam.com/video/UclX2X9bbrQ/w-d-xo.html

    These look so simple but are absolute demons when modelling them traditional way... thanks for the tutorial

    Hey guys, below we already talked about how to make a mesh so that the berries don’t disappear. I was making it in blender 3.6 LTS and I just needed a mesh. But everything was lost. Then, almost by accident, I found the “Realize Instance” node and inserted it into the node tree right before the “Group Output”, then applied everything and converted it to a mesh, everything worked!

    It's a really good tutorial. Such a shame that blender changed so many things. Most attributes nodes are replaced and some I found the replacement, but "attribute separate xyz", or attribute comapre I could not find so I cannot finnish the raspberry...
    Could you make an updated version?
    Edit: I didn't read the pinned commentary, that strawberry tutorial, was really helpful. Great indeed!

      thanks! Also in the description box, I provided a .blend file for download that contains a berry with the updated geo nodes.

    4:38 Subdiv, not subsurf !
    Except from that little error, incredible tutorial, you definitively deserve 10 times or 100 times more subscribers, judging the quality of the videos you make :)

    hello, thank you for this vid. I tried to make it uusing 3.2 version, and get a trouble. 3 tips were introduced to geo node tree as objects, and frutlets vere introduced as a collection. Some shit each frutlet had 3 tips at the same place, realize insstances node didnt hel. I am newbie to geonodes, and used distribute points on faces and instances on points for everything.
    Maybe you have some thoughts on this?

    Awesome tutorial thanks. then how convert it to mesh. i cant convert it, it's disappear when i apply modefier or conveert to mesh. i'm going to export it as fbx

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi, if you are exporting any geometry node setup as a FBX, its a bit tricky and a Blender limitation. While there is a 'realize instances' node, it destroys the UVs (at least when I tried).
      Another way is to try the "Object info" node to bring in objects and check the "as instance" and then make the instances real. I have not tried it out, but that is a workaround I see people doing.
      Hope that helps.

    I am trying to learn blender and your tutorial is so fast paced and at some points without depht, that it is really hard to follow and work with it. Overall, thank you for sharing your knowlage and helping people like me. But really learning and understanding with the tutorial as at some points not even possible. Greetings Max

    Hi there, great tutorial. Many thanks. 💖 ı have a question though, got stuck at 7:51 because they apperently changed the point instance node with something else, but couldn't find which one and how to implement. Could you please make an update if possible 🥰🙏💖✨✨

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi, yeah, they did change a lot. Idea of using a point instance node still works, but you have to use a "instance on points" node instead.

    I don't have Point Instance.
    What I am supposed to do ?

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey, In Blender 3.0 they changed some of the nodes. You have to use a distribute points on faces + Instance on Points node now. In my strawberry video, I use the same method to limit how high the points should be distribute - so if you check that video out, you know how to do the conversion to the blender 3 nodes.
