I’m a new player and have mainly played the base game online. I just ordered the physical versions of the Seaside + Plunder + Base Game Cards (small box). The sets looked interesting and I figure this will be as thematically dense as I can make it, which is a plus for me. Maybe I’m just a simple person. 😅😅

What happens if you use Bonfire to trash a Throne Room that's been used on a Duration Card in your play area that still hasn't finished resolving?

The most ridiculous kingdom i ever played with was with apprentice, trail and way of the mouse for lurker. Whoever got to 4 gold first won pretty mich instantly as he got all trails and next turn some apprentices

played the first generated kingdom against a bot while going for sea chart and won in 16 turns. I think bridge, mountain village + nobles + sea chart is a decent engine

scout is tier 0 if both peasant and inheritance in the kingdom copium

When i play against AIs they always Baron rush the game into a 3-pile ending taking all the estates and win before i can get enough provinces

I really liked the Young Witch "peeking in" from the corner heh. Was afraid this card wasnt gonna be covered and got interested when i see the AIs buying all of them. Thank you for this

why do you think that the card before paid for would actually have its statement about during a players buying phase is in play, before you have actually played the first peddler bought and the action of the last lines are then in play, not in the place before it was first time purchased. after it is purchased the first time then the action on the card would then be able to apply its ability to play its action on other further along purchase of other peddlers cards. does that make sense. first not in action while that ability is not owned for you to apply its statement before you own the peddler card.

Sentry is one of my favorite trashers despite being so slow, its just a very interactive and fun card, and its useful later on in the game too

On the disadvantage of missing the shuffle: is this only a disadvantage when the duration effect of the card is different from the initial effect? In other words, are cards that read "Now and at the start of your next turn..." not subject to the same disadvantage?

Best card for Duke is Hunting Grounds. Even better if you can use Stonemasons to trash your Hunting Grounds into a Duchy and two Dukes every time!

I like to make up my own custom cards to play around and have fun breaking the rules xD Once I made withought even knowing that Promo and Black market existed, a card that reads: "Place 2 cards from your hand to the top of your deck. If you did so, your action phase ends and this turn you are able to buy a card from the "box" (all other kingdom cards that are not in the supply)" This card is an Action and costs 3. It lets you buy anything you want, but since you put 2 cards back to the top of your deck, it is hard at the start of the game to buy something really good from the "box". But once you build your engine you can buy interesting stuff. I like to play around with this with many expansions... I know its broken, but it is so broken that there are tons of ways to break it - thus making it fun and interesting watching people find amazing ways to take advantage and break the game with it! :D

I think the most important point is that Corsair discourages Big Money. It's similar to Bandit from the Base Set. These cards provide a direct way to counter a Big Money strategy.

Coming in after a few years having only just gotten into Dominion a few months ago. These videos I think have pretty single-handedly taken me from someone getting regularly thrashed by the app AI to more like a 50-50. Thank you for everything that you've provided and I hope that I can take on the general lessons from the videos you have done to think about any other expansions I may play in future.

I diagree with the Shanty Town argument. Necropolis is fairly priced at 1 cost(much worse than native village, which is not amazing at 2), so moat should be better than it

22:39 Would you not consider Shanty Town for (weak) draw here? I know it isn't very consistent, but it seems better than Wishing Well for draw to me, especially if you are filling your deck with shanty towns and conspirators.

anyone seen the way of the squirrel/scepter/tactician combo from the finnicky village mix final? Kudos to you for naming that here, the commentators were suprised by it. There, it was even stronger because it was kickstarted by hasty tactician

I‘m not sure you can have a money-free possession based deck from the kingdom at 21:58, because, the only village is mining village, which is +2coin per play for your opponent posessing you. So either you dont have any(or very few) villages, ehich limits you to one possession play per turn, or you muss aloow yout opponent to have money from your mining villages.

How well would Quarry work with actions that play treasures such as storyteller and fortune hunter?

I like the "Steinbruch", I mean quarry. It is just in the wrong set in my opinion.

Wow original intrigue card artwork is quite distinct from the rest. I actually would have liked completely different artists and styles for each different expansion.

I just played a game where my bureaucrat helped mezz opponent had a witch jump on me and i pivoted into full gardens. I had workshops, bureaucrat and a couple of markets and cellars, so I was able to gain 4-5 cards per turn and ended on 60 cards! I lost 15 points from curses (but really only 7 thanks to garden). Bureaucrat helped me afford duchys and buy out the market pile to end:

The sheer negativity towards tide pools is odd to me. It is weak, but if Tide Pools is the only +draw on the board it is typically worth grabbing. The Tide Pool / Wharf combo seems nice, but I have found it somewhat weak in practice. A 2 card hand is still mostly a skipped turn, so you need to play multiple wharfs, which means there needs to be a villlage. But village-wharf is already a good deck. In short, wharf can mitigate tide pools's downside, but in the boards where it is possible tide pools tends to be an unnecessary detour. One thing I have found Tide Pools nice for is lining up early game combos. For example, if there is Chapel and the board is pushing you to slim the deck fast, I will try grabbing a tide pools on a 4-3 split. The tide pools makes it easier to line up the Chapels and estates on your first shuffle. Or let you spike to 6 if you need it. Then, if it doesn't fit in your target engine, you can trash it later.

15:20 I think the circle of whiches is very weak. I also agree to the comparison of another Dominion youtuber rtt that it is just easier to buy a which. If there's a which type in a cet. The circle of whiches becomes redundant.

I like the idea of rotating piles. I personally like them more than the allies or the option mechanic.

Sometimes with a 5/2 start I like going Mine + Cellar. With Cellar you can cycle your deck quickly to get more use of the Mine. Mine definitely gets a lot worse with a 4/3 start IMO.

I love the Sentry. Honestly I think it makes sense to call them your draw pile and discard pile. I was always kinda confused when people called the draw pile your deck, because I think the draw, discard, and hand together makes up your deck. This is a deckbuilder and your goal is to have the most victory points in your "deck" (hand, draw, and discard). You aren't specifically building your draw pile and counting victory points only in the draw pile, so I think deck should refer to everything and not the just the draw pile.

There have been a lot of times when I've had terminal draw cards without villages but wasn't sure if I should play them because I was half-expecting that the cards I was drawing where actions I couldn't play. Initially I drew them anyway but now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't play these anymore or else I'll run the risk of drawing actions dead (in particular the moat for instance, which ends up being a card I get purely for defense and not using the draw anymore. I play 3-4 players.). I'm guessing your suggestion in these cases would be to not play these terminal draw cards?

You mentioned playing some kingdoms solo. Do you have any guidance on how you do that effectively while also maintaining the player interaction elements? My wife tends to dislike playing dominion so it’s difficult to get to the table, but I’d love the opportunity to play solo.
