I think the most important point is that Corsair discourages Big Money. It's similar to Bandit from the Base Set. These cards provide a direct way to counter a Big Money strategy.

Corsair is incredibly annoying in 4 player games, I find it's hard to get much of anything done because some players prioritize it. That said, in the games I played with it, the big money player won because we all overestimated the ability of this card. It's good to see that our conclusion was mostly in line with the idea in this video.
Maybe what would give this card a bit more power when playing with other expansions is changing it from specifying Gold and Silver, and instead stating each other player "trashes the first treasure (besides Copper) they play each turn."
That might make it more dynamic, like in games with Astrolabe there's a way to deter Corsair, and stuff like Harem could be trashed so you have to be more careful about what you pick up. That might be a bad idea compared to what we have now, but I guess I just really want treasure trashing attacks to be more powerful.

That’s how Corsair used to be in testing. It was changed to only affect Silver and Gold.

Knights are the best card in dominion. They’re basically the good version of corsair that’s stackable and trashes almost all good cards in a deck instead of just gold/silver. I’ve been playing for a couple years now, so I’ve seen a lot of dominion games with almost every card, and nothing dominates the game as heavily or as consistently as knights. If you see them, your strategy should almost always be to play as many of them per turn as you can, because there’s no way to compete against that deck without buying your own knights to counter. Most of you think kings court is the best card, and I think it’s a close second, but knights is so powerful, there’s no way to build enough economy to get to 7 without silver, gold, and all the essential $5 cards that knights trashes. Kings court doesn’t even have a card to play three times when your actions are consistently being trashed by the knights. I’ve seen knights in many games including head to head with kings court, and it always wins. I’m excited to see what Dominion Cards says about the knights but a dark ages video is still probably a long way away

Knights are not even close to being a top 30 card

Given how long it would take me to get to doing a Knights video, if I ever get there at all, I figure I may as well give you my thoughts now.
Knights are strong. Looking at community rankings, most of the attacks that rank higher than Knights are the elite junkers, with a few exceptions like Warlord and Urchin / Mercenary. So it's one of the better non-junking attacks. However it's still rated just outside the top 25% and outside the top 100 cards. It's ranked closely to Militia.
So why are they not the strongest cards in the game? Well their problems primarily stem from the way they take themselves out when they trash each other. There are plenty of times where Knights simply don't achieve very much because they don't last very long. Knights often counter themselves by just having your opponent respond with their own Knight purchases, and then they all die and so much for that. This can make them feel centralising and therefore strong. However when you buy Knights and your opponent responds in kind it is sometimes the case that you have to spend resources drawing and playing yours while they just get to kill yours in response by letting their own Knight die and sometimes that means your opponent is actually better off.
You shouldn't just start buying Knights in place of building first, and many weaker players buy them too early. Each time you buy a Knight, you can run the risk of uncovering an even better Knight available for your opponent unless you're already at the stage where you can gain multiple per turn. If you can build quickly, often it's better to just build more, adding more gainers, and then once your deck is stronger start getting Knights in response.
If players do go for the Knights mini-game and can play multiple per turn, if you win the split, it can be game winning. But you have to get to that position first. If there are ways to recover Knights from the trash, particularly Lurker, those tend to be really unenjoyable games that never end, a large part of why I have them banned. With more than 2 players, being the last one with Knights alive is a lot more random and stackable attacks tend to be nastier so they're more impactful there.

@@DominionCards Thanks for the reply. Maybe I think knights is the best card in the game for a philosophical difference in what card “goodness” means. Most of the criticisms of knights that you point out exist because of the sentence on the card that says “if a knight is trashed by this, trash this.” That sentence makes knight a counter to itself. It provides a way to respond to an opponent who buys knights. Does this give knights a weakness or a strength? I don’t know. But what I can say is that it makes knights even more crucial of a buy when your opponent starts buying it. They might not last long or seemingly achieve much before they get trashed, but any knight must trash an opponent’s knight to leave the game. And isn’t it the most important thing for the knight to do while it’s in your deck? Remove your opponent’s insanely busted attack card from THEIR deck?
I play a lot of dominion, but most of the games I play nowadays is with the physical cards. My roommate and I play a version we came up with that involves a drafting process before the game to claim supply piles as ones that your opponent cannot buy or gain from. I know this advantages some cards, like flag bearer, and disadvantages others, but it has been a very interesting perspective on the cards. In these drafts, you have exclusive access to the knights supply pile. In every draft that knights has been a part of, it demolishes the opponent like no other card in the game (kings court, tournament, goons). In the actual game of dominion, you have to be careful which knights you buy, and when to start gaining them, but in terms of pure strength of a card, I feel like it’s not even close. Knights is a source of actions, buys, draw, a discarding attack, trashing, and the most crippling trashing attack in the game all in one supply pile.
I love all your content and I’m a big fan
