    As a new Lucid owner, I want to weigh in on some points in the video. First, it isn't easy to reach the seat controls with the door closed. In my experience, this is only true if you have huge hands or are wearing gloves. This can be alleviated by using the more than capable and easy-to-access touch menu. Second, the magnetic vanity mirror in the visor opens using the tab on the side, and when opened fully, the light comes on, and it remains open. There are a lot of great features, and the luxury and materials in the cabin are top-notch, but not everything is first class with the car and its operation. Thank you for this well-done review.

    LOL this is a massively biased review. Taycan gets a range in the mid 200 miles, Lucid gets over 400, and you imply that they could get the same range. Ridiculous. The difference in interior space (both passenger and storage) is massive as well but you barely mention it.

    • @carminered3229
      @carminered3229 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are right about those points. I simply preferred the drive of the Taycan over the Lucid. Others who value space and range and don't mind the growing pains of a new car company will prefer the Lucid.

    New Hyundai and Kia vehicles will be built with the NACS port for Tesla Superchargers beginning in Q4 of this year and existing vehicles will receive a CCS to NACS adapter beginning in Q1 of 2025. Those changes will significantly expand the number of chargers available to Hyundai/Kia owners. I'm currently leasing the exact vehicle you drove in this video (Ioniq 5/SEL/Lucid Blue), and for my life it works perfectly for my commute and the limited travel that I do. I have free level 2 charging in my apartment building and have access to 2 nearby Electrify America DC fast chargers (350 KW stations). When you buy/lease a new Hyundai EV you also get 2 years of free 30 minute DC fast charging sessions, so my "fuel" is essentially free for the duration of my lease.

      Public charging can be the same price as gas. Home charging is a lot less than gas. A “tank” is roughly half the size in the EV. so the price to fill up is meaningless.

      Indeed. Without regulations charging 60 cents per kWh gets expensive. A Ford Mach E averaging 2.4 miles per kWh would need about 8 kWh each 20 miles at 60 cents would be close to $5.00. However, a 4.0 miles per kWh EV would be 1/2 at $2.50 or so.

    The low rolling resistance tires on your Lucid are a major handicap when it comes to handling. Next time you do a tire change get some good Michelin Pilot sport 4, these transform the handling. Incidentally the steering rack in the Lucid comes straight out of the 991 GT3, with a slight different calibration. When you will get the new tires, you will see that the Lucid is a canyon carving monster, and I'm not exaggerating here. PS The Lucid is a fine looking sedan, but I loooove the looks of the Taycan though.

    This was a good review in most regards, but I do have a couple comments. The Lucid's seat mounted controls are for guests or those just getting in the car for the first time. More comprehensive seat adjustments are accessed through the screen and then saved to the driver's profile. Profiles for several drivers can be saved and the car recognizes each when seated. Your Lucid was equipped with the smaller and more efficient Eco tires. These do improve range measurably but have a negative impact on sporty driving, especially cornering. Two larger wheel sizes are available. My Air GT has the 21" option and cornering on fast mountain roads is both sharp and reliable. The Taycan is a lovely car but room for both luggage and rear seat passengers is limited. You didn't mention price but Taycan 4S with just the options I could identify from your video is $42,855 more than a Lucid Air Touring with the optional glass roof. The sportier Air GT loaded would be a more reasonable comparison.

      Thank you for your comment and perspectives! Agree ...Lucid is definitely more value for money compared to the Taycan.

    At 4:55, that white sculpture of the Porsches to the left of your shoulder is actually in the Porscheplatz round-about at the Porsche Museum if you have been to it. I think it is called "Inspiration 911". I was there in 2015 and again in 2019 for the 50th anniversary of the 917. As for using any car or a Porsche as a daily driver, when people buy me the car, then maybe they can tell me how to use it. You see owners in bumper to bumper city traffic. I'm there scratching my head thinking "what a waste" while I on the other hand am on a twisty backroad with my 993 or 991.1 GTS, both manuals of course. Also, when you are a tech as I am and not floating in a large salary, you tend to cherish what you have and look after it more than those that say "it is just a car".

      You are correct about the sculpture. Whether you daily it or not, enjoying the car is key and looks like you are!!

    Awesome Review! well said that both of these cars are for two different types of people. Personally here are my thoughts (im sure alot will disagree) Lucid has the better value, more luxury features, and better battery/drivetrain Porsche has the better support (more established company/easy servicing), better driving experience (though this is opinion and not fact) and better ui. I like the porsche as it has a more similar experience to an ICE even though being a EV. The coasting like an ICE is what i want in an EV. But at the end of the day, i still like the Lucid more due to the luxury components.

    As a Lucid Air GT & Tesla owner I can say with absolute certainty that Lucid Air is the best EV currently in production. Range is still king and with 500+ miles nothing comes close. It’s the total package. Beauty, range, speed, storage, comfort, luxury, quality, efficiency, and in my personal experience with over 50k+ miles driven, very durable. The Porsche is nice but the Lucid is on another level. Cheers!
