Porsche 911 Blendmount install/mirror tap ( Uniden R7). Mistakes made and lesions learned!

- Installing blendmount mirror adaptor for my Uniden R7 radar detector and doing a mirror tap for my 991.2 911 Carrera S. I made a few mistakes, hopefully you can avoid them!

Thanks for this video! It was very helpful and I originally tapped my mirror the same way you did. I then realized that I can tap the blue/brown wires for switched power! And I also didn't have to take off anything else other than the overhead console. Got mine to work like a charm, cheers!
Wow that's great. I wonder if i can get switched power in mine too. Do you have the 991.2?
@@carminered3229 I have a 991.1, if you have autodimming mirror, you can look for the yellow/blue molex connector in the overhead console.. the side with blue/brown/purple wires.. tap the red wire to blue, black to brown...

Looking at using these "taps". Question is, what keeps them in place? If they can slide in, they can slide out or is the fit that tight?
There are different size wires that come with the kit...so make sure you use the right size wire that will provide a tight fit. Mine has not come loose yet!
