The Loki: A mech so poorly optimized that it can overheat in its own shooting phase, fall backwards, damage its rear armor critically, hit an ammo reserve and FUCKING EXPLODE all in your turn without EVER being shot at by the enemy. Taking 'Glass cannon' a step further its considered a 'waste of a good set of summoner legs', and for some reason Hells Horses love them to bits.

im gonna make my complainy guy comment about new blood angels. yes i will still update the army so i can play it. but seeing some of the new kits...god damn the primaris marines not having everything you can arm them with but coming with useless extra bits like puches and terminator honor shields. and then i see the new sanguinary guard kits.. fucking 2 per box!!! fucking 3!!!! the box use to come with 5!!. and then i have to check out other sites for primaris death company marines. because GW doesnt seem to sell them anymore. their new focus on tournament is really making it hard to enjoy casual warhammer gaming because they now make kits that dont offer what they use to. this new direction for GW really is annoying and enough to send me to places where their stores get undersold. especially when one nearby store shop keep tells me tactical marines are online only despite the website not listing that as he tried to sell me horus heresy tactical marines because likely those arent flying off the shelves and probably more expensive. suffice it to say i didnt spend money there and got a box of primaris marines for a 5 dollar less discount at a random lgs that was selling 40k for cheaper. they spike their prices making that ridiculous profit margin and then give us less in the kits for what theyre charging. honestly if there were other miniatures game systems with popularity near me i would look into those at this rate. but alas, its 40k and even thats sparse.

It's hard to make a list focused on Fun when even an entry-level list you can play is going to set you back hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars, and cost dozens of hours painting. To spend all that time, energy, and money on a list that will have zero chance of doing anything useful against a list that's even remotely 'competitive' is just not worth it to 99% of players.

if i send you an asterion moloc model, will you try to convert it a similar way you did with tyberos? id need some time to get it cause well its out of production but i would be up to it.

I stopped playing after 2-4 games. I loved painting but I was instantly dissatisfied with losing every games and how competitive it was, while people crapped on my paint jobs. Not fun and not worth it.

Of course the prefered peak miracle would be to fire all current rules writters (seriously just compare 40k rules to nearly any other game, it's a swamp to navitage and read through, full of inconsistencies due to different teams being assigned to different factions, which surprisingly somehow results in horrible internal balance too... how?!) Considering that's not possible though, and expecting the absolute worst quality of any system I can imagine, I don't mind the frequent balance changes. Problem is in the execution. Rules being paid for HAS to go, but they also really need to re-do the way they are distributed. When "pirating" rules is more convenient than the paid option but still just as confusing, you know there's a problem. On every update you have to hunt for 5+ different PDF files - imagine if you skipped a year - how would you possibly know what changed where and how many times? It would be hell. Main 40K is slop on top of slop. And in my eyes game design & how rules are presented doesn't seem like a hard job at all, especially after all this time of foundation building and other games to copy from (their own included). I'd be surprised if their game design & rules teams get supported by even 1/1000th of their revenue, when clearly more is needed here if they expect an increase of actual players.

I was and OldHammer player and I quit playing Warhammer 40k entirely. It really just isn’t fun anymore and GW and The player base take it way to seriously. Everybody is just runs their min max list to prepare for the next tournament. I myself was a Narrative Player but since they moved the timeline forward into the 42nd Millenium you can barely do that because they’re discontinuing everything. All of my armies are discontinued, unsupported, or legends, but I got units that don’t even have rules anymore. And lastly the rules really do suck. Their easily exploited, badly written and then GW changes them all the time. It’s a vicious cycle and a money pit and I’m relieved to be done with it. I realize now how it was like being in a toxic relationship. At first I loved it, then it wasn’t so great, so we broke up, got back together, it got worse, and I realized I was to invested in it for to long and I didn’t really love it nor did it really love me back. So, I finally cut it out and I feel great. So long story short, I know how you feel and what your going through.

Something people need to know is that this game can and is often very long. The video kind of glossed over the GATOR system. GATOR is the heart and soul of this game; if you find it wanting, then you will not have a good time. Battletech is built on a system where players are clawing to find a way to manipulate the 2D6 bell curve. I played Classic for almost for 4 years. I have recently stopped playing the tabletop, and the main reason is the GATOR system. In my opinion, I think it is one of the worst combat systems out there for tabletop games. You may love it, but buyer beware.
