For Custodes bases I'd recommend panels cut to shape on top of a base so it looks like....flag stone or cobble stone (either plasticard or some kind of sculpting material) painted a darker color (black or a very muted brown) then stretch a cotton bud or similar fibrous material over that and spray a white or off white on top of said material, you should be able to do this with a spray can outside (wrather permitting) it will create a marble like effect perfect for fancy schmancy custodes (bonus points if you give it a really shiny varnish) Maybe gold or red rimmed bases instead of black to help blend the colot scheme a bit more
You painted more minis in the last year than I have in the almost three years I've been collecting Warhammer minis. I really like buildings things. Painting is just tedious to me. And I have no hobby resolution. I just do stuff when I feel like it.
If I may make a suggestion for the custodies base. There is a fairly easy method I have seen online using dryer sheets to make a marble effect on the base. You could make your custodies look super fancy with low effort like they’re in the imperial palace on terra! I’ll see if I can find the video I saw with the technique and I’ll post it in the discord. Keep up the good work buddy!
Quality over Quantity, at least! Just think, you could paint a full infantry marine list in a few hours if you had contrast and only cared about 3-color minimum. Instead, you have an amazing 21 models. Looking forward to many more PAINting streams!
Just bought my first custodes box (Combat patrol) and my gf got me a box of terminators. My resolution is just to get good at painting lol, a lot of new skills to learn but it's been fun so far. Also, probably going to magnetise the terminators because while I don't think they're the optimal choice, I think the axes are cool af
New video jump scare and I got a cameo
Imagine needing an airbrush to paint a knight
Fine detail brush
