Sea Fishing at Berry Head: A Jewel in Brixham's Crown!
Berry Head Sea Fishing at Brixham in Torbay, South Devon. Just behind the Berry Head Quarry is one of the best best spots on the English Riviera whereby multiple species can make an appearance such as Bass, Cod, Rays, Bull Huss, Conger Eel, Gurnard, Whiting, Pollock, Mackerel, Wrasse, Garfish, Dogfish, Pouting, Plaice, Dab, Flounder and more! The water here is very deep and it offers something for everyone, whether that's fishing for the bottom species, float/lure fishing or a bit of LRF.
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it.

Sea Fishing At Oxwich Bay Beach - A Five Species Session!
มุมมอง 10K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Oxwich Bay Sea Fishing from the Oxwich Church Rocks, down at The Gower. This was my first time at this beautiful spot. Five species and a lot of fish overall, the rod tips didn't stop moving all evening, it was a busy one to say the least! I love visiting this area and if I lived a little closer, I'd be down there all of the time! Thank you for watching, it is very much appreciated! Gareth #riv...
Dad's Favourite SEA FISHING Spot Revisited!
มุมมอง 7K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
My best ever Cod fishing session came from this very spot. It isn't far from the River Usk mouth and is next to the West Usk Lighthouse B & B down at St Brides. It's beautifully positioned on the Severn Estuary and as Bristol Channel Sea Fishing marks go, this is also one of my favourites, I have so many great memories. When it comes to wellbeing and mental health, this part of the world can gi...

Sea Fishing at Pwll Du Beach near Southgate, The Gower. Pwlldu Bay is very secluded and what a beautiful part of the world, it's a South West Wales gem! I've fished many of the Bristol Channel fishing marks but this was a first for me...it was a very enjoyable session to say the least! Thank you for watching, it is appreciated! Sea Fishing For Sanity: Time For A Wellbeing Boost!

When it comes to Newport Fishing marks, this place is one of my favourites on the Bristol Channel. The Cod fishing at this spot was superb when I was younger cod it's where I made my Christmas Special last year. The Severn Estuary has a special place in my heart and I very much need it in my life. Over the years at this spot, I've caught Thornback Ray, Bass, Codling, Whiting, Dover Sole, big Co...

St Brides Sea Fishing at Newport in South Wales. This place produced one of my best Cod fishing sessions ever, back in the early 1990s. When it comes to the Bristol Channel, this Severn Estuary Fishing spot is one of my favourites, I have so many great memories. Over the years I have caught many species here including huge Conger Eels, Cod, Codling, Bass, Thornback Ray, Pouting, Sole, Flounder,...
Sea Fishing At Redwick: A Bristol Channel Favourite!

Redwick Sea Fishing. Cod city was the nickname for this place, those were the days! One of the more popular Bristol Channel Cod Fishing marks, it has provided me with some fantastic sessions over the years, particularly during the Autumn/Winter months. This Newport Sea Fishing hotspot always used to feature in Sea Angler magazine, such was its reputation! I've also caught many other species her...

South Wales Sea Fishing at Newport, in-between Redwick and Goldcliff. My favourite Bristol Channel Cod Fishing mark, my PB came from here a few years ago and I've accumulated many great memories. I needed a digital detox after a tough week at work and so a bit of Severn Estuary Sea Fishing was called for and it certainly did the trick...fishing for mental health really is a thing, you need to t...

River Severn Sea Fishing at Aust Beach and Cliff. This upper Bristol Channel Cod Fishing mark is an old favourite of mine. If you like relaxing music .Try Tony OConner . Especially Dreams and Discovery. I promise you love it.
Love your videos Gareth. Fair play you put so much effort into them. Very interesting to watch and listen to. Im just getting back into it myself. Tight lines mate. 😊
Thank you Chris, I'm pleased to hear that you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come soon. Good luck with your fishing comeback 👍
some cracking fishing Gareth love the small huss, such a beautiful part of the world. The sky as it started to get dark looked awesome, has a lovely purple hue to it
Thanks Kevin. Stunning place and I think it has lots of potential, I'll definitely be going back. The sky was impressive as the light faded, I didn't realise how purple it was until I edited the video. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Your exactly right mate, gave up hopes nose 5yrs ago, migrants taking dustbins full of makeral Effing joke, surprised they haven't eaten the seal ffs 🙄 should of been enforced and policed by environmental agency years ago. Correct, they leave shit everywhere, camp there for weeks
Such a shame isn't it mate, they have zero respect. Annoyingly, they get away with it, hence why they keep going back for more. It's a shame that they've also trashed Hopes Nose, what a beautiful place that is. I took a walk down there a couple of years back and they were all there then, taking hundreds of Mackerel...I hope karma catches up with them!! Cheers 👍
Was down brixham over the weekend, caught a few mackeral by yatch club slip way once storm bert had gone lol. Amazing place cant wait for next visit.
Good that you managed to get a session in down there Nicholas. Great place isn't it, the fishing can be very productive. I'm hoping to go back before the end of winter. Cheers 👍
We used to catch loads of whiting in Barry, but I haven’t seen any around our waters for many a year, tight lines
Ah yes, I remember the Barry Whiting days very well, Jackson's Bay was my favourite spot for them. Such a shame they no longer turn up in big numbers, I hope they can make a comeback one day 👍
Hi Gareth a lovely place again to fish , you keep us happy and we love your banter, some of us are lonely and you make my day seeing you fish
Thank you Nigel, I'm pleased to hear that you find the videos beneficial, hopefully more to come soon. Lovely place is Berry Head, one of the most picturesque marks I've fished. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Great video mate, really enjoyed it. Great session aswell 🎣👍🏻
Thank you Scott. It's a cracking mark, anything can turn up, lots of potential. Stunning place and I'm looking forward to going back. Cheers mate, take it easy 👍
Hi gar really enjoyed your video butty some lovely fish caught and released I've fished there a few times, the break water in the summer can be great for Wrase on the float take care butty great video
Thanks Kelvin, it was a nice little session in fairness, such a stunning spot and I hope to go back soon, before the end of winter. Ah yes I love the breakwater too, I've fished it many times over the years. Cheers as always bud, take it easy 👍
Another cracking video, Gareth! Always make my night seeing an upload! Hope you're all doing okay and you weren't too affected after the floods. I know you live right on top of the river, so must have been scary
Thank you Paul, I appreciate that. The river behind the house came to within approximately 3 feet of my garden but thankfully the embankment is high and this makes it difficult for the water to come over the top, therefore no flooding. Thanks for asking and I hope all is good with you 👍
A cracking video again, as you say shame about them a55holes spoiling it , happening everywhere theres mackerel to be had,
Thank you Keith, much appreciated. It certainly is a shame, these people have no respect and simply don't care. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍
Hey up Gareth, Excellent evenings fishing, unfortunately there’s always those that screw it up for the rest of us mate, thank you for all your time & efforts to bring us such fantastic content 💯👍👍
Thank you Nick, it was an enjoyable session in fairness, such a stunning mark with lots of potential. Yes it's a shame that the minority ruin things for the rest of us, they have zero respect. Hope you're doing ok, take care bud 👍
hiya gar, hope your all well mate , you had some nice whiting there mate it would be nice to see them again on our local marks gar , great session as always chap cheers gareth take care from gorgy somerset
I'm good thanks Tone, hope all is good with you mate. Yes it was great to see those huge Whiting, it was like going back in time! Cracking mark and I can't wait to go back for a second go, lots of potential I think. Cheers mate, have a good week 👍
Nice session, Gareth. It's a pity the minority spoils it for the majority.
Thanks Ian. Yes definitely, they have no respect. Wouldn't be surprised if this mark gets closed off for good, the protection order is being ignored. Cheers as always 👍
Glad to see you back in front of the camera mate
Thanks mate, it was a nice break down in Brixham, it was very much needed ha! Cheers Nathan 👍
Another cracking video Gareth mate...hearing about the gangs that are spoiling a beautiful fishing spot makes me angry these people aren't anglers there absaloute scum...
Thank you Nathan, much appreciated. Yes I agree, they don't care about anything, zero respect and it really winds me up. Stunning mark and I'm hoping to go back before the end of the year for another go! Hope all is good with you mate, take it easy 👍
Great content and well done on the fish.
Thank you Rob, much appreciated. Lovely mark and I'm looking forward to going back. Cheers 👍
Great one Gareth. I could see you really enjoyed that session. Lovely Whiting.
Thanks Ed, it was a nice session at a stunning mark. Great to see the big Whiting, they reminded me of the old days. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Hi Gareth, thanks for highlighting the issue at Berry Head, it’s one of my favourite places to fish and not a million miles from where I live, but the gang problem has been so bad there for a good number of years my wife (who often fishes with me) doesn’t want to go there anymore so I haven’t bothered for two years. Such a shame, we’ve had some great times float fishing there, and using lrf tactics for wrasse, great fun.
Such a shame isn't it Maurizio. A lot of the locals have also said the same, they no longer go there because they feel unsafe. When I was there, the three idiots that were catching hundreds of Mackerel off the platform cleared off as soon as it got dark...then I could relax and enjoy the session as there was no one else there. Beautiful place and I hope the council and police are able to patrol it on a more regular basis. Cheers bud 👍
Thank you for these videos Gar. These latest ones have kept me going with my latest trip to hospital. I'm ok now but I just wanted to make a conscious effort to tell you how greatful I am for the videos as I assume everyone else is. Keep it up 💪🏻
You're welcome bud, I'm glad the videos have been helping you and I'm pleased to hear that you're on the mend, good stuff! Nasty bit of weather this weekend although looking a little better mid-week. Cheers as always, take care 👍
amazing watch and plenty of fish too! might have to make my way down sometimes when i got the diesel lol, hell of a drive from cwmbran but it definitely looks worth it. it is a shame about the people that go down just to cause trouble theres no need of it. you'd think you're away from all that stuff being out fishing, but i guess people are just the same in all aspects. look after yourself mate, cant wait for the next 👍
Thank you Keiran, it was great to fish this mark for the first time and I'll definitely be going back before the end of the winter. Yes it's a bit of a drive and it's probably a good idea to stay overnight in some nearby accommodation or even sleep in the car. The good thing about this mark is that it can be fished 24/7. Yes these idiots have no shame, they don't care about anything and they always get away with it, really winds me up. Cheers as always bud, take care 👍
Yes its a real shame about the irresponsible people about mate. I just look past that and carry on with my fishing. Maybe one day when they learn to grow up maybe they all will see what p++cks they are. Maybe. But until then we got to put up with the s++t. I'm glad its not to often where I fish. Good vid mate.
Hi ga im from cardiff n sure i seen you in Torquay this last tuesday ! Keep up good content, used to get whiting n pouting with my father back in the day at Jacksons bay too
Hi Rich, it may well have been me as I did pop over to Torquay whilst at Brixham. Ah yes, I remember those Jackson's Bay days very well, I have many great memories as I'm sure you do! Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
Another awsome video again mate.well done on the fish looks a lovely mark to fish. Will Definitely have to give it a try soon and didnt even know it existed till i watched your video. Cheers mate, tight lines and take care.
Thank you Gareth, much appreciated. Yes it's a cracking mark and I'm definitely going back for a second go, it has so much potential and it's a lovely place, the bird life is very impressive, hopefully you'll get to give it a go. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
A cracking session mate in one of my favourite places.. Nice!
Thanks bud, it was an enjoyable session in fairness. Lovely spot isn't it and I can't wait to go back for a second go. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
@@riversidewithme Keep'em coming
Same here in east anglia ( north Norfolk ) when the mackeral are in along the beaches it’s a feeding frenzy for all nationalities got to see it to believe it with the beaches literally over crowded with fisherman it’s scandalous to what they are taking 95% being undersized and you very rarely see anybody with a measure sadly the Mmo and ifca haven’t got the man power to police it and policing the commercial bass fishing and potting fishery
Disgraceful isn't it Jason and the problem appears to be getting worse all over the UK. Always makes my blood boil when I witness it and I have to really hold myself back. These people simply don't care, they just take and destroy and what's annoying is that they always get away with it. As you say, the various bodies haven't got the manpower to police it and neither do the local councils. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thank you Gareth you’re an inspiration to all please keep doing what do you’re doing love the videos and how you reflect on past memories off your dad and that’s something we can all relate to losing loved ones but theirs memories are always with us

Thanks for another cracking video Gareth, I thoroughly enjoyed it mate!
Thank you Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely be giving this mark another go later in the winter. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
I like your style i can't stand people that smash mackerel what is the point they have got every right to enjoy the ocean as every other species.
Disgraceful isn't it Stephen, the people that do this simply don't care, they have zero respect and they know they'll get away with it. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Another grate video keep them coming Gareth all the best
Thank you Philip, much appreciated. Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck. Cheers 👍
great video again Gareth like i always say the only one that’s worth watching on youtube 👍👍
Thank you Luke, nice of you to say. This is a cracking mark and I'm definitely going back before the end of the winter. Cheers as always, take care 👍
oooh that hurt lol.
Love Berry head used to catch loads there when I was a tot. These gangs are popping up all over the country, ruining the place for everybody else, and it's just theft as they have no commercial license. Any way a great session mate . I was wondering if there was a way of sending you something by email its only a poem I wrote a friend of mine has recorded a backing track while I read it the instruments are a wind harp and a hand pan and also the sound of the sea( poetry is another of my little hobbies ) anyway thanks for the vid cheers
Lovely place isn't it Daniel, one of the most picturesque. Such a shame that these idiots are spoiling things for everyone else. As you say, it's happening all over the country and the problem seems to be getting worse. Yeah sure, you can email it to gsp1980@hotmail.co.uk, I'll keep an eye out for it, sounds good. Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍
We had the same problem at Dover with gangs taking over the pier there was even a stabbing in the end they shut it when it reopened it became very orkward to fish expensive membership you had to a health and safety course and you have to pri book it before fishing nothing against any race or religion as long as they treat the sea and sea life with respect and don't abuse it
Terrible isn't it John, it appears to be happening all over the country and I suspect we'll lose more marks. Like yourself, I have nothing against any race or religion but these people who show no respect for our land and seas should be punished. This country is too much of a soft touch and the idiots know they can get away with destroying everything. Cheers bud, take care 👍
Nice one Gareth mate , what a great mark , be a good one in the summer ! appreciated as always 🎣👍🏼👍🏼 Paul
Thank you Paul. Yes I agree, the summer should produce some very good fishing at this place, many different species in that deep water! Cheers as always, take care 👍
We have the same problems here in Jersey Gareth. Some of our local marks are frequented by gangs of non-locals who take large catches & leave the areas in a total mess. If you're fishing these places it can be flippin intimidating ☹️
Disgusting isn't it Steve, they simply don't care, zero respect. I agree, it certainly can be intimidating...I walked over to where they were fishing with the intention of filming them, however they outnumbered me and so I walked back to my spot. Makes your blood boil, especially as they get away with it every time. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
oh my friend nice to see you next where I leave. Great episode!
Thanks bud, lovely place isn't it. I'll be going back for a second go, I can't wait for that! Cheers as always, take care 👍
Once again a cracking watch Gareth, I agree with you about the minority of idiots spoiling it for the rest of us, seen it for myself whilst fishing in Scotland, it boils yer blood 🤬 and you can understand why farmers, landowners are stopping access to marks that have been fished for generations, it’s a sad state of affairs, Anyways a couple of nice tings there pal, and that first little bull Huss was perfection in miniature Great session pal Thanks for sharing it with us all 👍
Thank you Nigel, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video. Yes it certainly does make your blood boil, I was getting angry whilst filming this one and I had to hold myself back, which was difficult! That aside it was a nice day out, such a stunning mark and I'll go back for another go later this winter, I'm very much looking forward to it. I missed loads of fish during this session, but then again I always do when filming, all good fun though. Hope all is good with you, take care 👍
why are the cost gaurds not doing anything about this and policeing it.
A lack of resources I guess, although I can't be sure. If we take Berry Head for example, there's a protection order in place but it's not enforced on a daily basis. It's a big shame.
Hi Gareth I fished berry head couple year ago we did catch and release never been back seem the disgraceful what the old quarry was left on Facebook very sad wouldn’t go near the place now fished Torquay pier no clowns there thankfully mate tight lines 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Hi Adam. Yes I don't blame you for not returning, it's such a shame what these idiots have done to the place, they simply don't care, zero respect. I haven't fished Torquay pier for years, I must get back down there for another go. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Nice spot that Gareth. Sad to hear there are toe rags abusing the area. Hope you had a good break down there, lovely part of the world.
It certainly is Paul, absolutely stunning. Big shame that the idiots continue to destroy it, I hope karma catches up with them. Hope all is good with you bud, take care 👍
Another great watch..Gareth Thamk you
You're welcome Norman, thank you. A lovely mark and I shall be returning. Cheers 👍
Same problem 8 years ago on Dover pier they had full supermarket trolleys, going to London after... 10 plus fishing 2 stacking.... Shameful. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🤔. Great content again. 😊😊
Disgusting isn't it Albert, absolutely disgraceful, these people don't care about anything. Thank you, it was a nice session at a beautiful place, I couldn't complain. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Another great video Gareth, another mark I’ve not fished in many of yr( fished on the old landing stage/dock area and bagged up some awesome Ballan wrasse. Shame the idiots there and Hope’s nose have spoilt it for the true anglers. Been some massive squid taken on Torquay pier so I bet a few would be taken on the mark you were at as well( maybe something to try in future. Good mixed bag and lovely marked Huss even though small, great sized whiting as well( something we’ve not seen in a good few yrs) remember getting them off the old car park at Penarth marina ( before barrage days) up to 3-3 1/2 lb on whole squid but those days may never come back but still hopeful they will.
Thank you Marc, it was an enjoyable day out in fairness, it's such a stunning mark. Big shame that the idiots continue to ruin the place, they know they'll get away with it hence why they won't stop. Was great to see those big Whiting, been a long time since I caught them that big. I miss those big Whiting days that you talk of, great times. I agree, I don't think these days will return up our way, not in our lifetime anyway. Hope all is good with you, take it easy 👍
Well done Gareth spot on as usual pure therapy you are so right👍
Thanks Kev, it was a nice day out in fairness, such a stunning place. I'll be going back later this winter! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Lovely spot and great catching. I think I mentioned before about the lowlife around our coast, at Oxwich and Port Eynon gangs of Chinese pickers taking everything down to the small crabs and small fish in rock pools. Reported but was told nothing can be done. Great video again.
Disgusting isn't it Jeff. They take everything without a care in the world and they know they're untouchable, whereas if it was me or you, we'd be punished for it. We need to get tougher in this country, there must be consequences for those who destroy. Cheers for watching, take care. 👍
as someone who has long enjoyed watching you on your travels around our beautiful shores, and who ,although now disabled, still enjoys fishing, I fully agree and support your comments regarding the shameful state of our fisheries management! For far too long little or nothing has been done to prevent the abuse and destruction of far too many of our places of SSSI as well as other venues, not only by the organised gangs you mention, but also by so called anglers who leave the venue in such a disgraceful state! Although in the minority, the damage this causes has a profound effect on both the local area and causes problems for the GENUINE fishermen who appreciate and treasure the places they fish! Long may you carry on with your wonderful videos, they cheer so many people up, and encourage many more to respect our heritage. THANK YOU GARETH!
Thank you David, I appreciate the kind words. I totally agree, there's such a lack of enforcement when it comes to such matters and the disrespectful people who damage the marks are fully aware of this. It really makes me angry when I witness this disgraceful behaviour and I struggle to hold myself back. Berry Head is a prime example, there's a protection order in place but there's no money to enforce it on a daily basis, it's such a shame. I'll continue to promote the importance of the marks I fish when making the videos, I guess every little helps. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
What a great session Gareth, your looking well I think the sea air is doing you some good. Thank you for another fantastic video like everyone else I look forward to them.
Thank you Les, it was a nice session in fairness, such a beautiful mark and I'm going to return later this winter. I think the break did me good, it was very much needed ha! Hope all is good your end, take it easy 👍
Great video Gareth. Some crazy Whiting there mate. Really good session with different species. Great place Brixham 👌
Top video by a top angler some tidy sized whiting as well as the other species keep it up and tight lines 👍
Thank you Dai, I appreciate that, nice of you to say. It was great to see those big Whiting, reminded me of the old days. Cheers as always, take care 👍
Another great video. The knap in Barry used to be great for large whitingin the winter. I dought its the same these days. Cheers .
Thanks bud, much appreciated. I remember the Knap Whiting days very well, great times and it's a shame they don't turn up like they used to. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
