You're welcome Lionel, nice to hear that you caught a couple of fish with your daughter. As for Merthyr Mawr, I tend to fish it from an hour into the flood up to high water. I have a big bait on the one rod and a flapper rig with smaller hooks on the other rod. When I made this video I was using mackerel, squid and ragworm . I'm no expert really, there just happened to be a lot of fish out there that evening. Good luck 👍

It's not the most comfortable mark Ian, it's just a case of finding a flattish area in amongst the rocks. Left hand side (eastern side) of the point is easier. No need to go right to the end of the point, anywhere from halfway up is fine. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this mark.

Hi Rikki. I was staying in a Shepherd's Hut on a nearby Farm when filming this and so I was parked on the Farmer's land which is private. One of my subscribers who's a local has suggested the following: "Park in Bishopston on Brandy Cove Road and walk the flat road down. This is the easiest route to take" I don't really know this area very well but looking on Google maps, the Bishopston parking option looks good. I fished Brandy Cove once but that was many years ago when I was much younger. Cheers 👍

Hi Ian, hope you had a good Christmas. As for the Newport area, St Brides could be a good option for you. Park in the carpark next to the Lighthouse Inn, a short walk and right in front of you there's some steps in-between the rocks. If that spot is taken, walk to your right for another 5 minutes or so and there's another set of steps in amongst the rocks. You can fish off the top of the steps, much easier than the rocks. Other than Cardiff Barrage, there's also Penarth Pier, this is another easy mark. A bit further afield, you've got Newton Beach at Porthcawl... park in Newton Beach carpark and the beach is right next to you. Even further afield, you've got Knab Rock in Swansea, you can literally fish from your car, easy fishing. Hope that helps 👍

@richardthompson9772 There's some space to park in front of Redwick Church, then it's a 10/15 minute walk down Sea Street Lane and onto the Seawall. Years ago we used to drive down Sea Street Lane but now it's full of huge pot holes and so better off walking down it.
