    Looks like it's leaning the wrong way in the corners?? It should lean outwards, not inwards, surely??

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Matthias, I rewatched the video and I think I understand what you're saying. Let me preface this by saying the motion felt very natural when I was driving. In some corners the motion system is leaning inwards and on others it's leaning outwards - the key difference I believe is the camber of the corner, and Bathurst has a lot of variation in camber around the circuit. On heavily banked corners the motion system leans inwards, and on flat corners it leans outwards and I think this is an accurate reflection of what you would feel in real life. With heavily banked corners the reaction force from the road is relatively normal to the road surface which is not felt as lateral g force from the driver perspective. On flatter corners, the reaction force from the road is comparatively more parallel with the road surface, which is felt as lateral Gs and hence the motion system rolls outwards. I hope my interpretation is correct and communicated clearly - maybe the Sigma Integrale guys can chip in. I will say though - that is a really sharp observation and I'm impressed that you picked up on it!

    Awesome content. The algorithm finally seems to work now :). I have a 49 HG90 and I was thinking about upgrading to a 57. After what I just saw, absolutely not. The 57 has a ridiculously high resolution, only the next generation high end GPUs will be able to handle that pixel density properly. Excellent channel about simracing, it's going to grow like wildfire. Greetings

      49 to 57 has got to be the worst value for dollar purchase somebody can make. Yes the newer screen is very nice but for racing, the 49 gives 99.99% of the same experience in my opinion. I literally didn't know the 57 was a 57 the first few times I walked past it. I thought it was a 49.

The trail braking on these are so easy and controlled so much better. I absolutely love the travel and even the position sensor! Ive loved using the angle setting tbh its so so accurate. Also holy crap the quality? Ive yet to find or feel another set that feels this quality by something thats mass produced. I dont use 3 pedals. I never hse the clutch with the sims I play. So I placed the brake where the clutch would go 😉. Its also so easy to do that I could always add it back on when and if I want to.

    • @DrAlanQuan

      Hi, I think this is an issue with EA WRC. The game is just terrible with detecting wheels - pedals and handbrakes it seems ok, but with wheels I had to shut down the game, sometimes restart the PC and start the game again and then the wheel would be detected. One it's detected and calibrated, it works every time though. It's just detecting it and calibrating it the first time. I did nothing special, I just tried it again and again! But it does work eventually. Good luck!

    Which 3d printer would you recommend me to buy to print those grips?

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Lucas, I have customers using all sorts of different printers to make my grips with good success! I've used a nearly 3 year old printer (ancient by today's standards) as well as a $1000 printer released just 1 month ago and they both make parts that are perfectly usable. If your aim initially is just to make these grips, then keeping cost low is best. On a budget, the Elegoo Neptune 4 is fantastic because it's cheap, but also very full featured and a good build size in case you decide you want to print larger things like handles for your fridge or washing machine. Once your budget increases from there, pretty much any brand will do a great job. I have very good experience with Elegoo, FLSUN and Makerpi printers.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Gregory, I think it really depends what you want to do. Fanatec does have strengths, like the podium hub makes it super easy to wire up buttons and switches which is how my Supra wheel has working paddle shifters. So suprisingly, Fanatec can be a strong choice for DIYers who don't have any actual talent like me. The rest of the Fanatec wheels don't interest me though. The formula V2 is ok but it's old and outclassed by competitors now so I don't think it's an attractive new purchase - but the mods I designed hopefully can improve the experience for some for not much money. It's wild how expensive some of the rims out there are now these days. If I weren't DIYing I would get a Simagic Alpha Mini and a GT Neo, hands down. But I kinda like my Supra wheel so staying with Fanatec suits me for the time being. With that in mind, what are your thoughts?

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, I never did get my GT Neo. There was so much demand from RaceKraft so initially I told them to sell their stock to other customers instead of to me. Then I needed wrist surgery and I'm still recovering from that so there's no urgency for me to get a new rim. I would 100% get the GT Neo even if the grip surface breaks down. You're wearing gloves anyway so it's a cosmetic issue only. The GT Neo is a lot more comfortable than the FX. The FX has this weird square edge that pushes into my thumb and is quite uncomfortable, plus the buttons are all really far away from the hand. The GT Neo is a much better design imo. And it's half the price.

    • @purplejw

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, thanks for commenting! With every approach there are pros and cons, and adding more steps (printing separately, separating supports, and gluing) can make it more difficult. That's why I focused on the IDEX approach - one click, done. That being said your suggested approach of printing separately and assembling afterwards is definitely possible and I can redesign and publish an update for it (the current design has retention balls that were discussing designed for interlocking via IDEX printing, so not suitable for separate printing and assembly) If you purchase the complete collection and send me a message via cults, I'll start working on it and have something workable in a week or so.

    Those hotend figures sound false. Have you seen the reviews of its bigger brother? It couldnt even hit a third of the advertised volumetric flow. I think you may have succumb to their marketing lie of a built in flow rate file which never actually moves the hotend fast enough to get even close to the advertised flowrates. You can sort of see it too, because hotends that actually get those sorts of flow rates are way longer, and ooze a whole lot.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I saw the fudged flowrate stuff with the S1 and flsunslicer. I sliced my own calibration gcode on Orcaslicer, verifying on the preview the print speeds and flow rates (which if I recall correctly is how the fudged calibration was exposed with the S1). If you watch the screengrab video where I show the Moonraker error the live flow rate readout shows 86+ mm³/s (I forget how much exactly) before Klipper reboots. The only thing I didn't do was physically measure the speed of the filament coming off the spool as it printed. I don't think there's much more I can do to test the flow rate in a controlled and consistent way. Seriously, get your hands on a T1 and some OzFDM HS ABS and run the test yourself, and let's compare data. If I've made a mistake somewhere I'd like to know. I came into this test reasonably well prepared having heard about the dodgy S1 flow rate test and did what I could within my skill set to test properly. But I will say one thing - a printer that actually meets its claimed specs? Unheard of right? Hence I was pleasantly surprised. And then really disappointed by the build volume issue. So you win some, you lose some. Thanks for commenting!

    • @BeefIngot
      @BeefIngot 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @DrAlanQuan It's good to hear of independent testing, though, (and you probably checked to be fair), If I recall correctly, sometimes the readout in various klipper front-ends can be requested speed as opposed to actually hit speeds. I believe this is part of why CNC kitchen for instance, developed their scale measurement system for measuring volumetric flow where the weight of filament can only tell the truth. Nevertheless, I can appreciate the effort.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I'm definitely relying a lot on what I see on the screen (commanded speed and flow rate on the preview, and live readout on Klipper) versus old school analogue measurement. I don't have the genius of CNC Kitchen to devise fully independent means of analysis. Anyway, just like in medical research we do the best we can, others will critique, and we all learn. Hopefully my data turns out to be reliable.

    • @balvedi54
      @balvedi54 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The instantaneous flow rate of T1 is 90, which is obvious. If it is a continuous and constant flow rate, it is about 55, but it is still about 2 times that of other brands of printers.

  • @eaman11

    I'm afraid it's not the right product, if I want a super fast printer I get a corexy like a Ratrig or a Voron. I'd get a delta for a fancy fast prototype printer to keep on my desktop while I'm drawing but that thing is too big and too noisy for that.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's definitely not for everybody. The noise would be ok for me in a workshop, not really suitable for inside a home. That said, I don't think anything at the same price point can offer similar performance. A ratrig or voron would cost at least double, and also take much longer to assemble. If I needed rapid prints on a semi regular basis I'd be happy with a T1.

    I own both flsun T1 and flsun V400. I have been using V400 for 2 years. Before T1 and S1 were launched, V400 has been the fastest 3D printer on the market.T1 has made many upgrades on the basis of V400 (further improving printing speed, time-lapse photography, enclosed printing spaces, etc.); V400 and T1 are my favorite printing tools;

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      FLSUN certainly know how to make a hotend. I was really impressed with the V400 when I reviewed it earlier this year, and the T1 is a big step up again. I think I'd rather have the V400 at home - the user interface is perfect and it's already fast enough. But if I had to design and print stuff professionally and if noise wasn't a concern the T1 definitely wins. Do you find the build volume of the T1 enough?

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The weight isn't so bad, but again I have gotten used to deltas - the T1 can be moved by one person without too much trouble. Way bigger and heavier than a little bedslinger though. In terms of price, so many people seem to be casually buying Bambu X1Cs which cost twice what the T1 does so I think the T1 presents much pretty good value.

    You have the single monitors mounted to far back. They should be 3" from the back of the wheel. The closer you have the monitor to your eyes, the higher FOV you can run. Not a good comparison but you still are not going to beat triples for fov. Wish the g9's were 800r like the LG.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi. Each of the monitors was mounted the way they were for a reason. The 49 was so close to the steering wheel my fingers sometimes touched it. The 57 was mounted a bit further back to clear the motion system. That's a real world consideration that needs to be considered, but yes not a perfect apples to apples comparison.

    I like the idea of this video but the fov settings don’t look correct so the comparison isn’t fair. The middle triple 32 screen has a wider fov than the middle 35 ultrawide

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi you are correct and this has been pointed out a few times in the comments now. I didn't control for things like monitor distance to driver and also side monitor mounting angle. If I get a chance to redo this test, I will do so with excruciating attention to detail :) For this quick comparison I just took 3 separate rigs that were configured for different purposes, put them side by side and made the comparison. The triple 35s were straight off the RaceKraft Sim centre showroom floor, so built to accommodate easy access for people of all sizes which is why it's mounted far away and with a wide angle. The triple 32s are my own and they're set up close and tight since I can work with that. If you take each example and plus/minus some field of view for each that will give you a reasonable idea of what each of capable of - and the wide gap in function between a single screen and a triple screen remains obvious.
