I have had one of these for over a year and is great. Also worked perfectly with qr2 and no tolerance issues.

      Awesome!
The tolerance to my QR1 shaft was perfect. As for the tolerance to my wheelbase - I installed it again today and although easier than the first time (clearly some thickness had been abraded away with my first install) it still needed a solid push to slide into the wheelbase shaft - and without the collar tightened it was a snug fit and I could rotate the wheelbase motor by spinning the unsecured extension.
Based on that, I stand by my assessment - the extension is very lovingly made with attention to detail and is absolutely fit for purpose, but the tolerances with my personal DD1 were just a bit tight for my taste.

@@DrAlanQuan funny thing for me was the shaft went in ok and qr1 ok but qr2 was tight. I do have the non anodised version so could be a factor. I guess the Fanatec tolerances are all over the place😂 Tino was great as where I live is a nightmare to ship to and he made the effort to make sure I could get it.

Can't beat the service of a one man show when that man is passionate about his craft!
Also it's crazy how wild Fanatec tolerances are. For the volume of parts they produce, very unexpected

This is the version I have I use it to get the monitor low enough for the center of the screen to be at eye line in formula position.

Formula position is so tough. I wish monitors had a little notch that we can feed the shaft through. Tired of looking at that bottom bezel all day 😂

Nice! I need one of these! I didn't even know they existed... awesome vid❤
Interesting he went with one bolt.
As long as it doesn't mar and it holds, then hey, it works

      Thanks Gregory ❤️
Yeah it's a nice piece and the integrated and simplified collar is very elegant. A lot of people are quietly enjoying these, I see them in a lot of people's rig photos and because it's such an understated design it doesn't stand out unless you know to look for it. I'm lucky to have gotten to test it!

@@DrAlanQuan that males perfect sense yeah.
To a lot of people, they'll think they've just seen a wheel base as is.

If its not going in, considering holding it straight... I know, rocket science

There's an interference fit on my motor. Even after a few installation cycles, the extender once inserted but with no clamping collar installed has a very firm fit and you can rotate the motor by spinning the extension.
I can hold it dead straight all I want - it won't insert without applying a wedging force to the Podium split shaft.
That, good sir, is rocket science for you.

Hi Darren, yeah it's really nice to use equipment that is very lovingly crafted.
I get that there is a place for low cost equipment, where less attention to detail is made to surface finish etc - they still work for their intended purpose - but really nicely made stuff just feels good
