It’s more rare these days to come up with even eyelets. 2 eyelets are only on derbies, 4 eyelets are super rare (only Norman Vilalta does it) and 6 eyelets are the ones you would most likely encounter this. In a case like this, you’d have to adjust yes.

I suffer from the same issue, I’d say they are wide enough. I would not size down in your case though, I’d take your regular comfortable dress shoe size.

I recommend you to check out the Styleforum thread about archibald. While the quality seems good, the delivery is ridiculous with people waiting over a year and still getting the wrong shoes. Unfortunately I don’t have any interest in reviewing them. I’d prefer to do crown Northampton.

@@MisiuAcademy Yes but they have since fixed their supply chain problems. They are incredible sneakers. I owned crown, koio and much more. Archibald is PAPA.

Their bespoke you mean? Hard to choose honestly. If your shoes are made by the actual Japanese masters at bemer they are really really good.

@@MisiuAcademy Stefanos MTO vs Gaziano MTO. I am commissioning a victorian button boot from Stefano , so a level below the six pence bespoke. Also it's my first pair from them. As a second pair I want a python loafer and as part of discussion was asked to consider Gaziano MTO instead of Stefano. hence the question. I have ready to wear shoes from Gaziano which are excellent but for some reason the tradionalle collection from Stefano stands out in its overall design. Hence wanted to get your expert view :)

Stefano MTO better in my opinion. Have you tried Scafora? I could make you a python pair with them or Enzo bonafe. Or loafers in teju lizard. Snake is not the best for shoes.

I actually made the model 8866 in grain leather in my shop with Carlos santos to mirror the Coniston. Loake might have some similar style. Possibly Bridlen which also mirrors the British. Trickers on sale?

My position is a bit more nuanced. He’s a salesman; and comes across as a somewhat earnest popinjay. I bought two G and Gs thanks to him. I similarly purchased an EG thanks to him. I’m probably going to be visiting the Stefano Bemer shop in NYC, too. But I learned of the shoe snob and now the noble shoe because of all this-and have become far more discerning as a result. My wardrobe has been very enriched by all this; and I’m grateful for that.
