The elephant in the room is the historic inability of Penn State to develop and showcase a NFL calibre QB. Besides Kerry Collins, there have been no other PSU QB's who have made any noise in the NFL, even under JoPa. This record doesn't draw top talent. Maybe with a new OC this can change.

Your wrong. Number 1 this stadium may not last that long and 2 the longer you wait the more its going to cost they projected it will cost an additional 40 million for every year you wait. I am not sure the stadium could hold the weight of a roof plus snow that stadium was built in the 60's.

Not a Penn State fan, but if you put a roof on that stadium, retractable or otherwise, you will ruin one of, if not the, best environments for college football. It’s a very bad idea.

Penn State is damned if they do and damned if they don't , I really believe that the only way this stadium should renovated is if the Football team wins a national championship in the next two years, barring that Penn State is already reeling from CJF's ridiculous salary and what that does to go into this type of project with revenue dropping around the country for many teams because of the dip in attendance numbers , us fans are pretty loyal but we are not rich and when we are budgeting for our everyday lives it's gets harder and harder to rationalize the expense of going to Beaver stadium !

Leave the taxpayers out of this! We already subside the university via state funding! Coach Franklin makes more money than the governor of Pennsylvania! NIL is good for a metropolitan area but Penn State is located in a mid-size city.

Beaver stadium upgrades are necessary and WAY over due. There's no reason a program like Penn State can't afford this. Also the retractable roof while a good idea to make Beaver stadium usable year round i don't think is practical.

Is it structurally possible to put a roof in? You'd have to demo and rebuild sections of the stadium around all the footers and steelwork. Snow load would be crazy.

Amazing Jay Paterno opposed the upgrade. “ The football program pays the bills.” ( Joe Paterno). Let’s be honest, no one is spending 8 or 9 figures for a new or renovated McCoy (especially when swimmers have to be paid ( on top of travel coaches etc). It is interesting to note the lead plaintiff in the House Lawsuit ( Tom House) was a swimmer at ASU). I can see sports like swimming that < 1% of the population care about, getting knocked down to club level.

10 wins is definitely doable for PSU in 24. Offense should be much better. Defense will again be excellent. Schedule will be tough.

This should be a 11 win season. Games against WVU and USC have me nervous when they really shouldn’t be games to be nervous about. There has been a lot of change this offseason and all you can do is trust they are taking the right steps but with this organization I have come to expect incompetence.

Roster would tell you 11-1 but with Franklin terrible game management I think it’s 9-3 most likely. Losses to Ohio State and 2 bad road losses. They will not make the 12 team playoff. This should be the end for Franklin he has taken the program to another level but cannot get over that hump. Should be remembered as a coach that rebuilt this program but he obviously can not get it done in the big games.

Penn State guy here: I am going 8-4. Home loss to OSU. Road losses to USC ( obvious), Wisconsin and in an upset: West Virginia.

I don't see the problem with David Taylor taking the job at OKS. What hasn't been mentioned is the fact that just maybe Taylor was tired of the grind of competition, he is getting older and not younger and has to look at a future for his family. And besides having good competition outside of the Big 10 is a good thing. This will be Taylors first year as a HC, so I don't see a threat to Penn State for a few years and it will give Penn State a reason to expand their recruiting.

Coaching jobs in wrestling is far and between David should have taken the job as well as Nick both are great
