  • Greg Kerkvliet officially returns to Penn State wrestling for his final season, but is there a chance that he is not the no. 1 ranked wrestler at heavyweight? Beau Bartlett alludes to a weight class change? Penn State and Cael Sanderson are in the market for a new assistant coach. Zain Retherford makes sense. Locked On Nittany Lions host Zach Seyko answers each point of debate between Kerkvliet, Bartlett, and Retherford.

Zain said in an interview that he’s been working part time for a financial company in NYC. He also said he’d be moving there so I’m assuming after the Olympic’s he’ll do this with his Family to work their full time.
Zain has always been one of our favorites and although we’d love to see him Coaching whatever he decides we will always 100% support him.

Is he still eligible? You have five years to play in four competitive seasons. Skipping 2020, he has 2019 (B), 2021(G), 2022(G), 2023, 2024. He skipped 2023 and 2024 and not sure he's eligible for 2025. Would love to see it though.

@@LockedOnNittanyLions Olympic year would be a tough sell since he didn't enter the trials but who knows. Imagine if he went to Iowa and teamed with Ferrari to take on Kerkvliet and Starocci. Even as a Penn State fan I would also love to see Iowa scoop up Parco and Alirez and then with those four plus the rest of Iowa's starters, they would about level the playing field with Penn State. Which is saying a lot considering next year's lineup may be the best ever.

I thought you had 4 years + red shirts and the clock starts when you leave high school unless you have a military or religious exemption. Also I thought when you go pro and hire an agent you are no longer an amateur and lose all NCAA eligibility just like the college football players that declare for the draft but don’t get drafted and can’t come back to college football.

Zane wrestled so damn impressive after his loss. He did deserve to lose that one match he was gauging the guys eyes on 3 separate occasions.
