- Aaron Brooks knocked off the best of the best... David Taylor. Locked On Nittany Lions host Zach Seyko reacts to and recaps the Olympic Trials finale. In what some people are describing as an upset, Brooks proved that he belongs in that same conversation right now, and not four years later. The torch was not passed. It was taken. And Brooks will represent the United States at 86 kg in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Zach also explains how Kyle Dake, Kyle Snyder, and Mason Parris won their respective matches convincingly. Plus, find out why Spencer Lee and Zain Retherford are not qualified just yet and what they have to do to get to Paris.

Aaron Brooks and David Taylor are both blessed by the Holy Sprit 🙏
I love Brooks, and I’m sad today. I really wanted The Magic Man to go out on his own terms. Everyone knows Father Time is undefeated, but I thought DT could best him one more time.
Same. Dake and Snyder is the last of the golden age. JB DT jden all gone :/
Congratulations to Aaron and all the wrestlers. Just to qualify for the Olympic trials is a great achievement and honor.
این خیلی غم انگیز است 😢من میخواستم یزدانی و تیلور در المپیک پاریس با هم کشتی بگیرند.
Me too, my friend.
Yazdani has not even qualified yet. I hear he is injured and may not make it to Paris.
What in the world are the putting in the water in high schools now a days? They weren’t just in the tournament, they were winning. Impressed with the representatives. Feel happy for brooks and Taylor will alway be on the PSU Mount Rushmore. I feel for him but it’s nice he passed the torch to another PSU alumni…
THESE KIDS COMING UP NOW ARE UNBELIEVABLE BROOKS , PJ DUKE SPENCER ETC.
"Omar" reference
State College needs to be the home of USA Olympic Trials going forward. PSU alums plus Lion Wrestling Club. Majority of wrestlers.
I think Snyder is most likely to medal but least likely to get gold. He ain’t beating the young phenom from Bahrain/russia. Kid was even beating Sadulaev by 6 when Sadulaev medical out of the match
Taylor needed a couple warm up matches and it would have been different not wrestling all week and then having to go out there cold and try and wrestle a guy that’s been tested in all his matches was not ideal for Taylor. Brooks got taken down by a high schooler, Taylor def should have wrestled a few matches before hand
That was the only takedown Brooks gave up all year. Plus Mirasola is no average high school kid. He's a highly touted PSU commit. He's the guy that will be the long-term replacement for Aaron not that he's graduated.
@@D_Heidtke zahid took him straight to his back for 4, Alex dumped him to his back for 4. I don’t think Taylor gives those up and techs his way to the finals and beats brooks if he has a few matches under his belt.
I know Zahid did and Deringer. I'm just saying that AB is tough to take down. As far as Taylor beating Brooks...maybe but I know a Brooks improved greatly over last time at Final X. I think Zahid might go 97kg next time around. I know the weight cut to 86kg is tough for him. I think with his stature, he could be really good at 97kg.
