It does work but . Remember before you put it in drive. Flip the side stand up and away you go
I bought my ZXR750 - 91 at 1992 and had it for one year. I loved that bike. 😀👍
Good work! How hard is it to find parts for these bikes.
No idea really, I haven’t had to buy much of anything. Just a front brake disc. Thanks for commenting
Thank you for sharing. I wish mine were F models rather than C
Thanks for watching !!
That was a great restoration! Even if you paint it green it still looked great. I had a 1985 model back in 1990,the blue and white version. The best looking paint ever on a bike in my opinion. Went with it to to germany visiting relatives(from sweden)and my knees hurt so bad from 3700 km in 10 days so i had the feet of the pegs whole way thru denmark on my way home. What do you do with all the nice bikes in the background that you restored? Maybe you allready told but i have missed it. Those bikes you restored should be doing miles on the road in my opinion. Dont want to sound rude when saying that. Thanks for a great channel and i watched a lot of your videos. The green kawasaki 1989 you restored was great and i am looking forward to more great videos.!! I am a fan of the 1990 sportbikes.😁😁👍👍😊😊
Thanks for the comment and complement. The bikes in my collection are on rotation, I have 2 new bikes I ride daily and I insure one of the collector bikes each year. Unfortunately in Canada , every bike must be insured separately and at $1000 per bike, that’s just not feasible to insure them all at the same time
@@true-moto-resto Yes sure you cant pay insurance for them all at the same time. Do you sell any of the bikes you restore? I understand you dont just get rid of a bike you put that much effort in but are there not people that would pay a fair price?
@@Motorcycleman-hs9yrI have few for sale now, I’m out of space. But the economy here is in the toilet and stuff just isn’t selling
Great video. You mentioned the “rattle can rule” what is that rule?
Thanks Don. My buddy who is the pro painter (and my teacher) isn't a huge fan of using 1K rattle can primer. 2K no problem (2k has the hardener/activator etc). some of the 1k primers seem to cause adverse reactions to old paint or the new paint going on, so it can be a bit of gamble. Ive had decent luck with Pro-Form rattle can stuff, not so much with Dominion Sure Seal. Just my experience. Ill still use the rattle can stuff here and there, but I pick my places to use it. Also, some of the 1K primers can wipe off pretty easy depending on the strength of the pre paint de-greasers and panel wipe you use.
Gonna look pretty bloody cool when finished 🤘
Thanks! I sure hope so! I appreciate the comment
I hate shorts
Best to watch the long ones several times then (get my stats up ). LOL
Let the replication begin
Next video shows a bit of a disaster when I do the flat blue . Oh well , all fixable
Don`t envy you the paintwork, however at least your are persevering it. It`ll be worth it.
Thanks Jerry, wait Till u see how the flat blue goes …
I understand your reasoning for the exhaust tip, man. Sometimes it makes more sense to work with what you have. I meant no offence. Still love the bike and appreciate the effort you put into documenting your builds. Thanks!
Hi there , no offence taken what so ever. I appreciate the feedback and comments . Just sharing my rationale . Thanks again !!
Can't wait to see the wheels paintjob
Wheels aren’t getting any paint, they will stay black . The Alfaro blue with flat clear coat is next. As usual, thanks for taking the time to comment !
The big muffler tip looks better......will be a awesome looking bike.
Cheers !
I have been riding since 1963 and have had somewhere around 50 motorcycles. In 1982 I bought a new silver CB900F exactly like yours and put around 40K miles one it. It was hands down the best bike I ever owned. Your F is beautiful, and I`m quite jealous.
Thanks for the comment David, much appreciated !
A friend of mind owned one of these and when COVID happened he moved back home to Canada and gave me his!
I have 4 off them, I x product 2 and 3 off them in product 1, Superb machines. One has had the 810cc convert but it eats cluthes
One of my favorite channels, right up my alley! I’m thinking of tackling one of the RC36-2 RC 30 conversions…. might be one you would enjoy for your channel?
Thanks for commenting !!! The RC projects sounds like a fun one !!
sorry couldnt hear you. but wanted to
Thank you for your kind words
Just saw your Adam Ant poster with Vive Le Rock and Friend or Foe era, hah.
Lol, yea I painted those many many years ago. Still a fan.
Previous owner must have wished he had the 1991 (blue) model
IDK, but the colour is awful and the frame, swingarm etc is polished too (I don’t like that).
Would love an H1, remember when they first appeared in UK showrooms, the Hoover hoses were amazing
Iconic for sure ! Thanks for commenting !
I am a big fan of your page and work ...BUT , I'm a little confused as to why you'd buy a Pakistani race suit , are they just for display ? For a number of reasons - Firstly the quality that these manufacturers is not what is claimed in fact in many cases it is downright misleading and CE rated armour is again not genuine. .... I would HATE to crash in these garments. Secondly, they are counterfeiting other genuine companies good name.
Thanks for the comment, you are correct that some offshore suits are not great. I can only tell you of my experience with these particular ones. Most are display jackets only however I do ride in a few (I don’t race). The armour is apparently genuine CE Approved Level 2 armour. jackets can be made in cow hide or kangaroo. As for quality, I personally rather wear these than jeans or ballistics suits (which I have crashed in in the past) Re the point on them not being genuine Dianese etc….Fair comment
Great job! Want your bikes and the garage 😂.
Thanks !
Good start pressure for spray gun which is a rp.Is anywhere between 19 psi to 26 psi range.
Yea, the low volume high pressure gun I used here didn’t want to spray the thick primer at anything lower than 40psi. I spray my base coat at 10-15 psi with my hvlp and high 20’s for clear (about 2 bar)
@@true-moto-resto You can always put extra thinner in the primer so is flows better and add a couple more coats for the DFTs. Thinner is only for the viscosity so the paint flows through the gun. The thinner totally evaporates from the paint while drying.
@@langdonfairchild1st805 yea, true, I tried that with the reducer I had here and the primer turned to cottage cheese. I’ll have to find a different thinner for it.
Loving this build. I just wish you hadn’t insisted on using that giant end piece on the exhaust. I think a slash cut piece of pipe that fully cleared the fairing would have looked so much better. Oh well, you’ve cut a massive hole in the fairing now. Guess I’ll just have to get over it 😊.
Thanks for the comment, the belly pan was supplied/came with that giant 6” hole already in it, which is why I chose a large tip to fit the hole (with a small trimming ). If I used a smaller pipe, I would have to have filled in the hole and re cut it smaller diameter.
Quite serious painting prep going on , gonna be a great looking machine I'm sure .
Cheers
Great work great video ..!
I'd say you're about 3 hours away from me I live in Peterborough if you ever need hands let me know. I love wrenching on bikes.
Cheers! Very nice of you ! Thanks
@@true-moto-restolove the videos to.
@@motorcycleman3322cheers !!
A trials bike will teach you to be a better rider for sure ! I started on a trials in 1976 and rode extremely a lot and competed back then ! Now I am 59 and have 2 a CR 500 and 2 450’s and looking for a new Trials !!!! Love the bikes !
I should just sell you both of mine. I'll never have the time or money. Got new air tech bodywork for both
Yes you should LOL. Good u got the Airtech stuff now, they’re not in business anymore, the guy retired. Recently , Big shame for the bike community they had alot of rare stuff
Kawasaki green or forget it........Ha. ha. Look forward to the resto regardless
I already restored one in the green , white and blue so this one will need to be different, plus I have an 89 to do which will be green
How you going to restore ? All own original or maybe a period correct 90’s zx7
Going to be done as an OEM Euro colour ZXR750 in Red, Black and Silver .
Nice bike! I got an '09 1125r. Clean. Almost stock like yours except the necessary mods to keep it running, Rick's stator and voltage regulator. EBR modified rotor with the oil hole. Race Ecm. I noticed you got a little clutch weep too. Known issue. I got an Oberon unit and mine has been fine ever since. No weep. You don't see many of these on the road anymore. It takes a lot to make them right and keep them going, but worth it.
Oh, I had a loose rotor and / or crank nut causing some knocking initially too. Tore it down and tightened both past specs. 300 ft lb. on the crank side and red loctite. No more knocking.
I have the Eric Buell Racing ECU on this one too.
It's my favourite bike in my collection 💚
Thanks !!
❤
It does move along quite well !
Beast mode
awwww man, came across the Kijiji post and saw the Hawk 😢
Sold the Hawk yesterday
I feel your pain.. I hate selling my bikes due to a lack of space , & I only have 7 😭 You'll sell them....& then fill the space with more bikes! 😂
You’re right about filling the space , I can’t help myself
It hurts to see an iconic bike rotting away like that, but for that price you can sometimes find a running one... Great content anyway.
hahaha....what a piece of rusty junk. Not even 500 bucks......more like haul it off for free.
Sweet bike!! I believe it’s a ZRX not ZedRX
Lol, not here in Canada
$1500 the guy is delusional. That thing was terrible. If you offered $500 it was too much. He should have snagged the cash. If the motor was intact and still in the bike un seized i might have done $500. Frame and wheels was the value, even the farings would have to be cheep to sell for parts. All i have is old bikes but you cant save them all. I have a '83 GS 1100 E i can find parts for easier than that thing
I like those f3’s so popular when I was a kid. That looks so nice and oem windshield too.
Yea it’s pretty clean, not perfect but clean
@@true-moto-restocan I ask what you would be looking for price wise? Thanks.
@@philp7012hi philip, the bikes are only for sale locally here in Ontario Canada. I find it best not to get into $ here on my channel as it sparks too much unnecessary debate etc. with so many global viewers and regional differences in bike values etc. I posted this more as an fyi as people may see some bikes disappear off my channel.
@@true-moto-resto fair enough, thanks.
Yes, f2 och f3 are good looking bikes even with todays standard. Not the volvo 740 rear as some bikes
There's nothing "true" about that having spent any significant amount of time in a field.
In a field under a tarp., is where it was, I pulled the tarp off it myself . How long it has been there I can’t say for sure because I didn’t put it there
Hey friend (I watched your videos but still don’t know your first name or nickname) Would you be willing to sell your 1984 CBX750?
🏍👍👍👍
Does it work for m109r 2010 ??
Dunno, probably, you can try it . If that plug is there to jump, then likely it would. Best check the M109R forum, they could tell you for sure
I’d give it away for free just to have someone get it off my property.
I wish you were the owner LOL
$1500? Either the seller is delusional or secretely wants to keep it while telling his wife nobody wants to buy it. 😀
The Former. !
Very nice. Did you ever source the plastic triangle cover for the swingarm pivot bolt? It's these things that are now getting 3D printed because of their rareity. Best regards.
found some on eBay, but super expensive, haven't pulled the plug on them. Shipping to Canada is a killer
