I like it that you are continually challenging yourself and it's the only way any of us learn. The new tip looks great and it's a huge improvement. Top job and enjoying this KTM build 👍
I will always remember a particular day in the assembly process of my FZ. For some reason I decided to grind the tip of my screwdriver. And yes, you can guess what happened. Finger in between the machine. Some stiches where needed to fix it. I am glad I didn't loose a piece of it. But good advice and always wear leather gloves and eye protection. I would grind the welds and it will look clean.
You're grinder needs a adjustment to the rest gard rest should be closer to the stone to reduce grabbing. Should be around 1.5. mm away from the stone.
Midas is looking for help down here, you should throw your name in that hat! “She ain’t pretty” …..but she looks good that way. The only person that would be missing that extra 5% lean angle is M.M. lol.
Ha! Thanks Don. Reminds me it the old Northern Pikes song “she ain’t pretty, she just looks that way”. Only in this case she doesn’t look that way. Always gotta mention MM93 eh!

I’m glad I’m not alone. If A skilled craftsman like you can make a mistake , I’m in good company !

Yes it does, My neighbour said the same thing !!!! Live and learn
@@true-moto-resto Men learn when we bleed lol.
@@langdonfairchild1st805let’s hope so !
A few coat of thick paint could cover up the welding ...... just maybe 😁
Lol, a bit time with the grinder too
As the saying goes, we all live and learn. Maybe regarding your finger episode that was a typical school boy error, albeit a painful one.
Yea, idiot schoolboy. I’ve had that grinder for 20 years, first misshap
My train of thought is, "Why pay someone else to do it when I can do it myself.......for free".
Exactly!

Always, I know how you feel about the man!
At least you have had a go, even if it does look like pigeon crap! you just need to practice!
Yep, that’s for sure
The welding just needs practice ‘things can only get better’
Very true !!!! Can’t get much worse so there is an upside LOL
