I struggled with blight in a similar climate. Much research later the organism that causes it seems to live in the ground.. so when it rains and water bounces back up to the leaves is the primary way it spreads. I mulched with fresh straw that later got the soil on made it better. It was more successful than anything else. However, the copper is the best if you have no straw. Also incredibly good for tomatoes to stop blight

tipppppp go to the supermarkets and ask for the produce damage old bread and u can feed the animals with that...free and the will not have to put it in the landfill...the only thing is u need a way to transport the goodies...

now here u need a prescription from a vet for anything related to animals..except shampoo, or normal care...any medicine is high expensive and u must have the prescription from the vet...which u need to visit the vet and pay big time...

We called it making hominy on my mom’s Indian reservation. Take a large plastic garbage can or whiskey barrel and put a peacock on the bottom. Put 6 to 8 inches of dry straw in the bottom and then we used hardwood ash. Put lots of it in. Let it fill up with rainwater and let it sit. You end up with lye water. Yeah that to the water you boil your dried corn in. You could use that corn after it was rinsed right away and soups or stews or for storage we put it on wire racks and dried it in the sun. We didn’t use it for animal food for sure, but had never thought about doing that.

I've actually seen them full on drag the rebar on the ground if they are only going a short distance. The sound is deafening. But my favorite is still the Ecuadorians who I've seen manage to carry a washing machine on the back of a motorcycle

Good video, as far as windows go, even if your windows don’t crack, radiant heat can set room contents on fire in a room on the opposite side of a window. There are rules “based on fire testing” for window sprinklers that showed that if there is a small obstruction to the total wetting of the window glass “think suction cup decorations” that heat can still start a fire in the room. I vote hobbit houses.

Hello from Oregon! Regulations are through the roof in the US. The sad truth is that this bureaucracy doesn't allow an individual the right to build a natural, organic, cost-effective dwelling. The sad truth is our government will keep it's head firmly in the sand after the fires.

Saw an add in Cuenca on a billboard for a new ford ranger from a dealer starting at $29,995.

Whwn we were in Quito 2 weeks ago we got sore throats from the car exhaust at night. We were 4 blocks from the national palace and the hotel told us to be inside no later than 7pm / dark. I often work in Portland Oregon and it feels safer than Quito. I would not visit either by choice.
