    This is the only recipe I’ve used since you last posted it and it is superb! I have added 2T honey which I think helps with the rise and I also started adding my yogurt whey in place of water. Have no idea if it’s improved, but I have to think it adds more nutrition and if not I’d rather just not know 😁

    I was brought up in the world with world values, even as a so called Christian family. I started having children young. With no true understanding of what it meant to be a mother or wife or homemaker. Struggling my entire life with childhood trauma and right now I feel so overwhelmed every single day. Just overwhelmed and frustrated that I didn’t have the opportunity to learn these things young and I’m having to struggle so much to get through each day. I want to be a good homemaker and wife and mother but I just feel so overwhelmed with all the things that I have to do and the things I want to do and the things that I should be doing. From herbalism to nutrition to homeschool and gardening 😫 Sorry to vent so much but I just want to be free from these emotional burdens. Please pray for me and healing ❤

    • @homewithkelli
      @homewithkelli 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Heather! You are definitely not alone with your frustrations. Main stream culture has devalued the role of a wife and mother in the home and that's why I have such an issue with college because for one, it definitely doesn't help young ladies grow in any of these skills. But praise God that you got married and started having children young, that is such a blessing! I know it can be hard when there are so many things you have a passion and excitement to learn but feels like there is not enough time or mental space to learn it. But what if you really simplify it down to what are our current needs and how can I create or make or do something to serve that specific need. For example, you mention herbalism- what is a need that you have... ear infections? You could make a garlic mullein infused oil, to have on hand in case you need it: schisandraandbergamot.com/garlic-mullein-oil/ Gardening: what is the food you guys consume a lot of, look up videos ( I like MiGardener) on how to be good at growing that food. Start small. And with each season you can grow something else. Herbs are also a really fun think you can grow in pots and make fresh tea with it, or dehydrate them for the winter. And what's cool is your kids will get to be apart of the learning process. Even when mistakes are made, (because there always is) they will learn from you that it's okay to try things and not be perfect or not get it right the first time. I think we underestimate, the example we can give our children in learning to fail well, and keep trying until we get it right. The best way to learn is by doing it, even if you have no clue what you are doing. You can watch all the videos in the world, read all the books, but the greatest teacher is just doing it. When you step back and think of the big picture, even by having excitement to learn all these things you are setting your kids up for a better future, your ceiling will be their floor, how cool is that. And also I do want to add on the having children young part, I just think it is SO cool that you will more than likely get to be a young grandma and then also get to teach your grandchildren these things and maybe even their children! Your interest and mere beginnings of learning these things will be wisdom that you get to pass down to your children's children, and they will get to say, I learned these things with my mom or my grandma. I know "it's easier said than done" but I hope this encourages you and gives you peace and a renewed perspective. There is no hurry, you have plenty of time, you are not behind. Scott and I have to remind ourselves often with many things we wish we had done, learned, etc. "the best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago, the second best time is today." God bless you sister! and Merry Christmas!

    Hello! Thank you for sharing your recipe for cookies. I think I will make some this coming weekend with my teenager. In regard to the butter and mixer. I have kitchen aid mixer and the same thing happens. I always have to scrape the sides of the bowl. Have you heard of Bread Beckers? I just watched (well listened) to her three hour talk she had posted 2 years ago, and it was so informative! I definitely want to start milling my own flour now. I was thinking maybe a few years down the road, but now I can see that the health benefits (and the way God created wheat to be consumed) just cannot wait! Anyways, I tell you this because she has cookbooks specifically for fresh milled flour that I thought you might find helpful, and save you some hours of searching! Merry Christmas! God bless your home this season with warmth and light. I like your Christmas tree, and we got a snow dusting as well! Enjoy your cookies!

    Super cozy episode -hot tea, cookies and cheesy pizza on a cold gray day -it can’t get better than that! Your chickens always make me laugh- those poor girls looked so confused😆! I think your tree is absolutely lovely- it looks like it’s straight out of a Charles Dickens novel - so warm and inviting. 😊🌲🎁

      Yes, so true, I love cozy days! And you are so right, the chickens were SO confused, they would not come out while it was still snowing, they had me laughing so hard. I'm glad you like seeing them, because I like sharing them! And thank you for the compliments on the tree, it was my grandparents tree and is so special to get to decorate every Christmas!

    I enjoy Visions cookware too. One time while cooking a big pot of chili, the lid slipped out of my hand and cleaved the pot in half. That was a huge disappointing mess, and I had to buy a new pot. Whisked cookie dough...interesting. The wet snow must have gone your way, the unusual forecast for my Christmas day is 60F and sunny. Merry Christmas Scott and Kelli! Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

      Oh that is so disappointing and glad you were able to buy another one! I also broke my large Visions pot as well and have yet to find a good price on one to replace it, but the big pots are SO useful! And that's wild you're going to have a 60 degree Christmas!! It's always good to hear from you and I hope you have the best Christmas!!

    This video is such a blessing. My husband and I haven’t been blessed with children yet. We pray all the time that He will bless us with as many as He wants us to have. With the holidays coming around, not having little ones to celebrate with weighs heavy on my heart. Thank you for the wonderful words! May God bless you. ❤

    This is truly one of a kind, sadly even in Christ. Your passion, sincerity, and wisdom remind me of Debbie Pearl with No Greater Joy Ministries. To God be the glory for you and your husband 🙌

    Every time I saw these "traditional feminine" video I see a sense of ungratefulness. Women nowadays are finally able to be comfortably feminine while still holding their basic human rights and social status because feminists in the past fought for it, even though through the process of it femininity was somewhat subdued/devalued. However, I would consider that a needed step in fighting a place for women in a men-dominated world.

      *correct: "traditional feminine" videos that more or less throw shades against feminism

    Hey Kelli, I hope you see this. What size dutch oven do you use? Does it matter? I am hoping to have my own kitchen soon, and am so excited to finally bust out my grain mill that has been sitting in storage for far too long!!

    Commenting a year late but I’ve replaced nearly my ENTIRE wardrobe with natural fibers. Two things I’ve noticed, I don’t sweat and stink like I used too, and I wash significantly less clothing as a result! LOVE natural fibers
