Climbing Little Annapurna | The Enchantments Pt.3 | Backpacking Washington | Peak Bagging
This is part 3 of my series on Backpacking the Enchantments. In this I continue to explore the upper and inner Core and climb Little Annapurna and afterward head down to set up camp at perfection Lake in my favorite scenic spot in the core.
Here is Part 2 of my Backpacking Trip in the Enchantments. In this Video I climb Dragontail Peak via the Mountaineering route. Overall it was a fun trip up. About an inch under the snow it is solid ice so glad i had crampons and a ice axe. Stay tuned for part 3 where I climb Little Annapurna and camp at Perfection Lake.

    What's wrong with cutting wood? Come on now! Overlanders? Campers? That is part of the outdoors! It induces you to buy a nice axe which even increases the depth of your experience plus gives you a little bit of a workout. Enjoy the outdoors, jump right in, soil your hands and feet! No sterile outdoor experience for this 3 rocks and the ground guy here.

    I purchased the Rab Micro light jacket last year and in size small and found this jacket to be lacking in down and overall general warmth. I specifically got this jacket as a lightweight backcountry ski touring jacket to be worn under a Gore Tex shell etc. I used it while skiing in the Lyngen Alps in Norway last year and then when doing the Ortler ski tour in northern Italy. I personally feel that this isn’t the best jacket for winter use but more suitable for spring or Autumn or general use. This jacket definitely has its place but it needs a little more refinement. I feel Rab should consider incorporating some flexibility into the waist like used in the cuffs of this jacket, as the waist tends to be a little on the narrow side and therefore restrictive . A little bit more down would also go a long way. I do like the Gore Tex Infinium used on the outer shell of this Jacket as it does provide a workable shower proof coating.

    Good review. I would hope that some would make reviews in each class of down jackets. Most of the YT reviews or comparisons are lightweight or mid weight at max. I think these light/midweight down jackets are the sweet sport of the market as most people seem to use them in urban conditions but there are a lot of people like me who would need at least 3 down jackets for different use cases and temperatures. Lightweight (80 to 130g of down) most reviews Midweight (200 to 300g of down) some reviews Heavyweight (450+ of down) non existent reviews

    I have been trying to decide on what to use both now and the intermediate term. Great video and to cut to the point I will be going for a 67! I do a fair amount of hiking but also do a lot of Off Road Dirt Biking….often on confusing trails and new terrain! I don’t see myself buying an iPhone 16 or newer any time soon….crazy expensive and as mentioned not fully waterproof and certainly not as rugged as the Garmin. Additionally, I need to confirm iPhones at least for their Operational temperature. I will always have both for redundancy but having the Garmin just adds that comfort I want!

It has the most feature of all the models and the screen size is almost twice that of the 67i which is helpful if you ride a bike, motorcycle or want to navigate in a car. I do wish I had saved the $120 and got the 700i without the camera, which I believe is the only difference.

    This is a great jacket and I understand why they don't have a bottom draw cord I sincerely get it, but I'm not on the ropes 90 + % of the time, in fact only 10% of the time if that, so that being said because of no bottom draw cord lol 'wind resistant' isn't doing much good when the bottom is WIDE open and lets all the wind in and there's no adjustment for that. Up here in AK that's not happening for me, so I sent the jacket back and bought the Arcteryx Nuclei (and it's perfect!) otherwise great jacket for sure.

    I like your setup! Question… I’ve been eye balling the HMG Contour. I saw your review on it… anyway, is it deceivingly larger than most “35L” packs? When I look at yours, it seems bigger than a few packs that I have that are listed as larger. I think some pack companies add every single cubic inch, where as the HMG only measures to the beginning of the collar. Is this your experience? Maybe I should ask, with your kit, how many days of food can you comfortably carry in The Contour? Thanks!

    • @BackcountryRenegade
      @BackcountryRenegade หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@woodyshepherd6904 yes there is a difference there compared to how pack companies label their stuff. The 35L refers only yo the main compartment of the bag, the external pockets create an additional 6.5L, so technically it can be 41L if you are talking of total volume including pockets. In the summer time i can comfortably carry 4 days of food in my food bag. This isn’t the greatest pack though if you need a bear box.

    My God, get rid of that "music." My mind goes straight to that annoying beat / tsss-tsss / boom-boom and I can't hear your content. It is awful. The "music" does nothing to help your viewers with comprehension and it does not enhance anything. If I want to listen to music, I'll choose my own. Your content looks promising, but I'll never know for sure.

    I just brought the microlight and tried it out in the UK with just a t-shirt underneath in Autumn weather , I found it cold even at 10c/50f .I know it's supposed to be part of a layered system but I do like to be able to go out for a walk and not be layered up with all the extra cost and washing for that reason I'm selling it and trying the electron.I want to add I think the sizing of the microlight changed , I brought a 2022 from eBay xl and it was a really nice slim fit but damaged ,then brought a new 2024 and it was very baggy for an XL I think they changed it to accommodate layers.

    I managed to get a 5 day Core permit 2 years ago. Thru hiked from Stewart TH to Snow Lakes. Had the pleasure of being accompanied by Bryce Newbold and Danny Scheafer and my son Jesse. This was the backpacking trip of a lifetime. We camped at that exact same spot you did your first night.
