My friend Faris doing his thing. He's actually considerably faster than this, I caught him when he was tired from skating a lot already. He's so smooth and fast!

Attempted overtake
มุมมอง 6K16 ปีที่แล้ว
A lorry driver from Mayday Tool and Plant Hire attempts to overtake at an inappropriate and unsafe moment. Luckily he aborts when I signal a stop to him with my right arm extended, palm facing back. This causes him to repeatedly beep his horn, whilst pulling a sign at me. If he'd only waited a little, I would have happily pulled in somewhere to let him past once my own safety wasn't at stake. Nearly over the bonnet
มุมมอง 2.4K16 ปีที่แล้ว
An oncoming car driver doesn't pay attention when turning right across my path. My mistake was to assume he was going to stop after all, when on approaching this junction I'd felt twitchy. There are lots of cyclists out there with helmet cameras, so be aware your misdeeds may be captured for youtube fame. www.londonskaters.com/cycling/article-helmet-cameras.htm
Another scary overtake
มุมมอง 11K16 ปีที่แล้ว
It seems to be an IVECO flatbed belonging to Simply Scaffolding, but unfortunately I can't make out the registration. Letter sent to the company. Why do people overtake so closely? It's in the face of oncoming traffic in a lane only just wide enough for the vehicle. It's definitely not wide enough for both his vehicle and mine. In fairness, this sort of incident is very rare. I think the last o...

the first time i saw the video i thought would be very difficult, but since been trying to have a better skating, from nowhere ive accomplished by doing 1/2 moon stokes, the double push is amazing.

Hi Dippps - for Grapevine, and general slalom etc. do you recommend smaller front and back wheels ( rockering ) on the Twister skate ( for example as seen on the the stock Seba Igor Pro skate )

This is the clearest explanation and demonstration of the grapevine I've found yet. I always get stuck once I'm facing backwards and going on to the toes (on on quads). I think this video just 'unclicked' something for me though, can't wait to try it out now!

By actively steering both feet all the time, as well as actively holding the edge (i.e. angle of wheels with the road) of each skate. Sorry the answer isn't an easy one. :)

Yes, you need to hold your body in the position shown in the video. Physics dictates that your left foot and your upper body will want to come forward as your heelbrake foot slows down. Keep the left skate back, with force, and you won't lose your balance so easily.

  • @MsLazystudent
