In the End and the Death Volume 2, Malcador witnesses the Emperor jettisoning a fragment of his essence into the Inevitable City enroute to Horus after refusing to become the Dark King. I believe Leman Russ and Valdor's quest is to recover this fragment (which may have his name?). Russ and Valdor are bound together by the Two Metaphysical Blades.

Constantin Valdor is the ONLY BEGOTTEN son of the emperor. And that is very significant. He was conceived naturally and wasn't some experiment. He probably kept this a secret from everyone even from Valdor. I just know constantin is very special.😊

I hope that we get a color scheme for the Ushmengar, I really want to build a Soulforged Warpack Detachment, and that would be perfect. Or if Dark Mechanicum gets its own army rules that would be even better. Daemon Engines are just so cool. (also GW please buff Heldrake and Lord Dicordant and let LD count as a daemon engine)

You're forgetting previous lore. Before these books came out, it is constantly said through the lore that when the faithful die, they join the Emperor as an army, which will end up fighting Chaos. Probably a misinterpreted divination, actually meaning Valdors Empire.

This is not going to end well sadly. Lillian Chase has discovered Valdor's full name and Basilio Fo has likely hijacked whatever Valdor was hoping to achieve by controlling him through his true name. That is my best guest based upon what Abnett has written to date.

I will say that granting Valdor Perpetual status would help alleviate the loss of the King in Yellow being a Primarch. I’m a Dornite through and through, so my hope was KiY to be the Return of Dorn.. but you have me convinced that Valdor makes a better selection. Primarch Perpetual Valdor. Something we have seen through Vulkan. It’s not outside the realm of possibility.

I would like to see GW be forced to admit the old ones genetically altered dimetrodon, the ancestors of humans, with necrontyr DNA, this is a well known fact, quit hiding it. In time these dimetrodon would gradually inflate into humans then, stage 3, reinflate into necrontyr. At any rate, just come clean and sell some new miniatures before my paint all dries up.

In the greater context of things in 40k, its not extremely high on the totem pole of "wtf" But at the same time....why? In universe, sure, makes sense given what the chapter does. But still... Y'know, it's not even they do the whole breeding world thing. It's just how callous they are to the humans in that area in general while also using them for breeding stock.

If this is talking about the Commus Nocturnus, I would definitely say they're not wielding the power of Sanguinius. But definitely a perfected derivation of it. I can't wait for Valdor to return to the setting at the head of this galaxy turning army. They're setting up for it, with Terra getting pushed from all sides right now. Only a matter of time before Valdor can fulfill his forseen purpose.

The end and the death pt 3 gives us a hint that the emporor may have given him a final vision before his internment on the golden throne

I was hoping he would seek out Chaos created, (Vashtor Created) weapons to put on himself to become what he seeks instead of taking any direct power of Chaos so the demons do not have their way and destroy humanity.

Regarding the question about the effect of chaos corruption, violence isn't necessarily productive if you're trying to perform a more complex task. Regarding which was superior, it's definitely the Astartes for the sheer volume that could be produced and their lifespan. That's not to say Thunder Warrior "blueprints" couldn't have been made available to planetary defence forces or the Astra Militarum, both of which accept all sorts of augmentations and abhumans.

This is just a theory but since the emperor is a perpetual, this new King in "Yellow" could very well be the emperor reborn, while his former corpse on terra has become a God; thanks to the centuries of worship. Now he's trying to correct his mistakes.

I don't think Valdor is necessarily a Perpetual. I also don't think it really matters. Even regular Astartes are basically functionally immortal and usually only die violently. It stands to reason that a Custodian, who is to an Astartes what an Astartes is to a regular human, would be functionally immortal even more so - and a lot less likely to die because they're a lot more powerful. We know of regular Astartes who have survived from the Heresy era (with and without chaos influence), it's really not hard to imagine Valdor doing the same simply by virtue of his enhanced biology. As to his wounds, again: Custodes shenanigans. If their resilience is similarly superior to that of the Astartes as their power - and it stands to reason that it is - then surviving wounds he seemingly shouldn't isn't really surprising. So applying Occam's razor here, no, I don't think any of these things point to his being a Perpetual. I honestly hope I'm right about this too, because in all honestly the Perpetuals trope is overused already as it is, and writing even more characters of that sort of power into the lore wouldn't be doing it ANY good at all.
