He could but the fortress was already lost. Summary it was already crippled and of no use, plus it already was boarded with armies. Divert to save the fortress, destroy the fortress, take it after Cadia or split and take it during Cadia of course the risk of them stealing said fortress and using them against Abbadon later. I honestly would do the same in his position
Abaddon has literally entire speeches about why he wouldn't go for Terra until the Long War is won and the Imperium has no strength left to stop him. He doesn't want a Siege or Battle for Terra... He wants an Execution of Terra.
The thing is, and i think GW forgets this, is that Chaos is actually tiny as a faction, lacking the legions of Space Marines it once had in the Heresy, generally relying more on subversion, cults, and summoned deamons to take worlds to bring the formidable chaos marines and dark mechanicum and so on. The Imperium dwarfs Abaddons forces so much it isn't even funny, and the only reason it is a threat is due to every other foe biting at the Imperium.
Meenwile, dey just ignor da uge Ork forces dat surrounds dem an ope we goes away before da Boss of Bosses gets us all behind im... Umies always fergettin dat DIS GALAXEE IZ GREEN!
Demographics and logistics have changed however. The Terra he sieged and left in the 30th Millennium isn't the same one in 42nd Millennium. The defenses have massively expanded and the population is in the quadrillions now unlike the low trillions he experienced taking. So he would have to adapt and grow his forces to a larger extent then what was previously available in the Horus Heresy.
Realistically, though... "Hey chaps, did ya 'ear da news? Them demon hoomies are invading da regular hoomies home planet!" "Ya, who care 'bout them hoomies since me best mate Yarrick died?" "Wait ta 'ear dis: Angron's wit them?" "ANGRON?! *WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!* "
This is how I see it if the defenses sol are either stagnant or improving slower than the abanddon's forces then given enough time abanddon should be able to make an fighting force strong enough to breach sol's defenses. Alternatively he could wait until another fighting force like the tyranids attack sol and then possibly get to terra while most of sol's defenses are preoccupied.
Well, any threat to terra will have dark age tech to deal with as well since priah nexus crusade book lore use of it, and it is as bad ace an more as it's made out to be!!
Abaddon has made his position clear. He believes Horus's lightning thrust for Terra was a mistake. Abaddon won't leave enormous armies and vast Imperial strength behind him, when he finally goes for Terra. He doesn't want a final grand battle, but to execute an Imperium already broken, spent and defeated. So The Long War is fought planet by planet. Killing the Imperium slowly over thousands of years. Abaddon is defacto immortal... he has time.
In all honesty, this is pretty ludicrous at this point. Chaos gods are active, and demon primarchs have returned. Abaddon needs to die and stay out of any lore for at least 10 actual years. Either Dante or Helbrecht need to be the ones that kill him. It's obvious to everyone now games workshop/ black library can bring anyone back anytime they want to, so he needs to disappear for a while.
Hmm...it feels like you're reading off a script. I think it would help if you slowed down your speed. And also used more conversational speech. Maybe add some constant background music so it's not just your voice. There are many times in the video where it's just you talking. But keep it up. I will keep an eye on your channel.
Thanks mate, I've been pretty hit and miss lately so I'm making some changes in my personal and youtube schedules to ensure more consistent quality. Recording late at night after work doesn't sound entertaining in the slightest.
@@TheCacapeteWhy? The comparison is obvious and accurate. Abaddon won't pull an End Times, because 40k is mega popular and sells, but thematically they are the same character.
Abaddon couldn't even take Cadia without resorting to throwing a black stone fortress at it. He won't get past Terra's outer defenses 😂
He could but the fortress was already lost.

That was the whole goal... and he succeeded

The bugs are on their way to terra and I'm sure there is a story thread by GW to have chaos capitalize on this to attach terra
Yes! We will explore this wild card in the form of hive fleet leviathan very soon!
I fully expect Chaos to possibly save Tera from the tyranids.
See the decimation of Baal for what happened there

Perturabo broke the Palace once, and he could do so again..
Perturbation couldn’t give a single fuck about his father or any of his brothers except Dorn nothing any traitor says will convince to leave the tower

Abaddon better hope Vashtorr has cooked up something hella crazy.
Interesting analysis! Great video.
Thanks mate, we've got a couple more on the way regarding this topic. There's a fair bit to explore.

I agree, but GW operates even slower than the military delivering rations
Sure, if there's a bad author in charge. Frankly they should not spend much time around Terra because it's actually not that cool to see
I'd be quite interested to see in more detail how Segmentum Solar has changed since the great rift opened.
Couldn't even take Cadia.
Abbadon is no Horus so No.
He has arguably proven himself the superior grand strategist.
A serious Aussie, okay I'll sub.
Bloody legend! Thanks mate
I sure fucking hope not

No.
NO
Of course, save yaself the time folks nothin new to see here lmao...
abaddon will destroy the emperium that's for sure. he is literally the Archaon of 40k.
Tell me you know nothing of warhammer lore without saying it
