I suppose one thing that could be said for it from the authors perspective is that given how much meaning and therefore power Epileonus’ sacrifices to Nurgle had, he was quite powerful. A lot of sorcery and sacrifice to the dark powers are centred around meaning so cadians returning to their planet then having all hope dashed, seeing what happened to their people, the creed bloodline etc all culminated in a lot of meaning to Epiloneus’ ascendancy.
the lore said that there were so many cadian armies fighting all over. they still have the numbers to populate a few planets with ease. This would make cadia mutiply with each planet colonized by cadians trying to make a cadia reborn.
You're totally right, there's so many of them you'd think they'd be quite capable of settling their own system. Considering how many leave their planet and never return due to being on campaign their entire lives there must be billions upon billions of active Cadian soldiers.

Tanith was destroyed 765M41 and Cadia was destroyed at 999M41 which means 234 years after the first and only flew to the stars for the first time. in other words, the boys and girls we love are no longer arround. maybe Gaunt is still alive thanks to rejuvenation tratment he likely received after becoming a Lord Commissar General and maybe even the new Leader of the whole sabbat world crusade. As much as we want to see it, unless they get lost in the warp again for two centuries, we wont see them again in the current timeline where loyal primarchs walk the galaxy again. i wish the first and only from the first years could have seen that. At least they have seen the rebirth of a saint.

It doesn't seem that time travel is very controllable. Besides, time travel plots are some of the worst stories in science fiction and I hope GW stays away from it or leaves it very very mysterious.
1 You can't really control the time travel shenanigans the Warp does. At best you are rolling the dice that the Demon infested Cosmic Horror realm of nightmares and all things awful spits you out in the correct era. Not the most reliable time travelling method. 2 Even if you did go back in time good luck convincing anyone. When a Death Guard Marine tried telling Rogal Dorn that his brother horus was a traitor, Dorn, known for being a calculating and emotionless rock of a Primearch, was absolutely fuming at the mere suggestion of such a thing. The only reason the marine survived is because he had an alibi. You would probably be ripped to shreds by so much as suggesting that Space Marines could betray the Emperor. The best you could do is somehow gather lots of info from the siege of Terra and warn them before the siege about all the tactics (as far as pans on the head Space Marines can do when it comes to planning) the traitors would use ahead of time to aid the Emperor in avoiding being entombed in the throne, but even then there isn't a lot that they could have done different, their hands were tied as soon as the Drop Site Massacre happened.
4:00 what a novel idea; take a beloved male hero and cast him down, then replace him with a female who is better in every way, but entirely on her own merits and definitely without any help from any males. Call it the Hayes-Bechdel plotline.
Before 8th edition gw had a campaign planned to retake Cadia A map leaked from gw along with some tidbit lore. Since then, gw has denied it ever existed....
I'm really hoping that within the data crystal is either the template for the Rogal Dorn tank or the planet where the template for the tank is found so we finally get some lore for my favorite Guard tank.

Sure, I was expecting something like the SOLAR ORDINATOR SOMETHING from Helsreach, or maybe even an STC on how to create PLANETKILLER-like vessels(big W for the Imperium if so) When the "weapon" was revealed to be a list of systems him and Krell( haha, gotta love that easter egg) had compiled over the years, where future Cadians could settle and colonize, well frankly..... I LOVED IT! It wasn't a letdown at all. Hope is a weapon. Even when all warps breaking through and there's chaos everywhere, the will of the Cadians never falter, fighting even harder to avenge their homeworld. Look at how much they accomplished with just one planet. Imagine a system wide Cadia. Imagine SYSTEMS full of Cadians. If one planet gave them hell for 10k years, imagine systems of such planets. Nice character development too. I like how they're playing with hope too. How far are you willing to hope, even when there is no hope in the 41st millennium?

He may indeed! It is fun how GW has all these little possible side plots tucked away all through the lore to potentially develop in later years. If you've never read or listened to it, there's a really great story called War In The Museum where you get an in depth look into Trazyn's museum.

But the emperor does exist as a warp god, for the warp gods are powered by belief from psychic attuned races of the galaxy. This can be seen in the recent Shadow-Sun book which details the Tau acceptance of their god Tel’var. Thus the emperor exists as a similar entity, which stands in stark contradiction to the Emperors original will who wanted to rob the warp of its power by denying the existence of all gods, which is why during the Horace Heresy they had no physical manifestations for the warp God’s hadn’t settled on their chosen depictions yet.

Please, the 40k galaxy is VAST, they could plop down a new Cadia wherever. How would new planets combat the 13th Crusade? It wouldn’t. And so what if it fell into chaos hands? Empty planets. Honestly I thought that same as you at first but you have to realize, because Cadia fell, everyone is going to fight 5x harder, plus there’s no more black stone fortress and the black crusade won’t be able to muster the same amount of forces they did for Cadia. The new worlds will be able to fight them off long enough to become something resembling Cadia again

I agree with you about Karanak that hurt my soul to hear but at the same time the meaning of Epileonus’ sacrifice meant he was ordained with significant power by Nurgle. With the new Cadian homeworlds I think the “weapon” aspect of that is hinted to in Ursarka’s message that he leaves in that the planets he and Jarran identified are in positions to be key in holding back the forces of chaos if held by Cadians. This makes me suspect they could be near the eye of terror’s original location before the rift but I guess we’ll see in the months to come!
No consequences or stakes for the Imperium. Just return the Emperor and give them an STC already. Also holy hell Creed was either a secret psyker or a dumb ass. His message depended on the planet being cracked and not swallowed into the warp. That bunker surviving and not being breached and raided. He could have been handing several worlds to chaos.

@@titanwargaming well demon slayer was written two decades ago and even the tails of Gotrek and Felixs is based on a short story written in the late 80s I’m not calling it plagiarism as all media is written on backs of other media and games workshop is really pulling this whole creed thing out of their ass to justify the continued use of the Cadians as the poster boys (and the model representation) for the imperial guard when they have 9 other distinct flavours to pull from. Which would of course costs money they don’t want to spend on a faction they have as a pivotal requirement but one they would rather forget about. I would be interested if the authors reuses this Nurgle Demon Prince she killed off, of screen as an antagonist in future books. For the author put a lot of depth into the character and demons of Nurgle are characterised for their toughness so short of a grey knight blade a few rounds from a Valkyrie shouldn’t put a dent in the chaos demon Prince.
Definitely mate, that's a great train of thought. I'm with you, I think we'll see a continued rivalry between the Nurgle Daemon Prince Epileonus and Ursula as the novels go on. GW has this thing about Nurgle in recent years as the main chaos protagonist. Give me some Khorne or Slaanesh butchery!

But it isn't! They are everywhere. Losing Cadia did nothing! There are more Cadians in the background and represented on the table top that ever before! The 13th black crusade might as well not have even happened! Failbaddon the armless remains true.
IF a lot of Cadians will be pulled out of warzones to be part of the "new cadia" initiative, then many other regiments will have to fill the void left by them. Hopefully this means GW is willing to invest in other regiments. Also i wish GW started creating more "imperial guard primarchs", as in legendary commanders that would act like primarchs for the IG. Lord Solar Leontus was a good start, Creed is nice, too bad we do not know what happened to Yarrik.
Man if GW expanded on other regiment's lore for a while and I could get me some plastic Talarn Desert Raiders, Mordian Iron Guard or Armageddon Steel Legion I'd be living the dream! You are right, some more mundane human heroes would be a great expansion to the setting.

Sounds like a very dumb book and I’m glad I listened to this summary rather than reading the full thing. It was inevitable GW would need to set up a new Cadia but they could just have asked the Adminastratum for details of a suitable habitable system to colonise rather than this silly plot.

I find the story simply unbelievable and stupid, from start to end. Nothing makes sense. And all of this is to have a ''strong independant woman'' become a super badass character in 40k. But thanks for sharing the story.
It is interesting to see the way they've been progressing the storyline isn't it. On one hand the setting feels watered down compared to the grim gothic nature of say 3rd edition but on the other hand they're progressing the storyline as fans have wanted for decades. Personally I still feel like the Imperium is a crumbling, backward empire with little to no hope for humanity between the Tyranid invasions, half the galaxy being veiled in darkness, Necron dynasties trying to rob humanity of their souls and surging Ork armies sewing conflict but simultaneously it feels too super hero themed like dumbed down a bit to an "Avengers" style. It's hard to explain but I get what you're saying.
Haha yeah. If it wouldn't burn a massive hole through my pay cheque, I'd start a guard army comprised of all different regiments but alas I chose World Eaters and Grey Knights!

Creed is not dead, obviously as far as the imperium care he is dead but we all know he is a guest of Tarzyn infinite so he might be back.

I would be interested if the authors reuses this Nurgle Demon Prince she killed off, of screen as an antagonist in future books. For the author put a lot of depth into the character and demons of Nurgle are characterised for their toughness so short of a grey knight blade a few rounds from a Valkyrie shouldn’t put a dent in the chaos demon Prince.
Definitely mate, that's a great train of thought. I'm with you, I think we'll see a continued rivalry between the Nurgle Daemon Prince Epileonus and Ursula as the novels go on. GW has this thing about Nurgle in recent years as the main chaos protagonist. Give me some Khorne or Slaanesh butchery!

But it isn't! They are everywhere. Losing Cadia did nothing! There are more Cadians in the background and represented on the table top that ever before! The 13th black crusade might as well not have even happened! Failbaddon the armless remains true.

IF a lot of Cadians will be pulled out of warzones to be part of the "new cadia" initiative, then many other regiments will have to fill the void left by them. Hopefully this means GW is willing to invest in other regiments. Also i wish GW started creating more "imperial guard primarchs", as in legendary commanders that would act like primarchs for the IG. Lord Solar Leontus was a good start, Creed is nice, too bad we do not know what happened to Yarrik.
Man if GW expanded on other regiment's lore for a while and I could get me some plastic Talarn Desert Raiders, Mordian Iron Guard or Armageddon Steel Legion I'd be living the dream! You are right, some more mundane human heroes would be a great expansion to the setting.

Sounds like a very dumb book and I’m glad I listened to this summary rather than reading the full thing. It was inevitable GW would need to set up a new Cadia but they could just have asked the Adminastratum for details of a suitable habitable system to colonise rather than this silly plot.

I find the story simply unbelievable and stupid, from start to end. Nothing makes sense. And all of this is to have a ''strong independant woman'' become a super badass character in 40k. But thanks for sharing the story.

This is a mistake by GW, the imperium should be a crumbling empire, there should be very little hope of saving humanity
It is interesting to see the way they've been progressing the storyline isn't it. On one hand the setting feels watered down compared to the grim gothic nature of say 3rd edition but on the other hand they're progressing the storyline as fans have wanted for decades. Personally I still feel like the Imperium is a crumbling, backward empire with little to no hope for humanity between the Tyranid invasions, half the galaxy being veiled in darkness, Necron dynasties trying to rob humanity of their souls and surging Ork armies sewing conflict but simultaneously it feels too super hero themed like dumbed down a bit to an "Avengers" style. It's hard to explain but I get what you're saying.

Haha yeah. If it wouldn't burn a massive hole through my pay cheque, I'd start a guard army comprised of all different regiments but alas I chose World Eaters and Grey Knights!
