I think the word your looking for is fuselage. Hope it helps. As for the fire raptors weapons, I popped a magnet inside of each weapon as I built it. When both weapons are then put on the model they hold each other in place. Easier then adding a 3rd magnet inside the fuselage and saves on magnets, as you will need plenty for all the different weapons the fire raptor comes with.

They did 2 Storm eagles per box because everyone would buy them and convert Fire raptors if there were 4. But it really is a seriously poor move.

What i find interesting, that Aeronautica as a game is dead (sadly), but we still get the Data Cards for Titanicus in the box.

Tamiya EXTRA THIN model cement is what I have used for years. Great video bud. Painted a thunderhawk for my salamanders. Not sure what flyers I want to add next

I got really discouraged with the stocking issues and lost my enthusiasm, sounds like I should take another look. I could actually put together an Air Assault formation.

“I think the word you are looking for is the airframe.” Actually this is not completely correct , looked it up & aircraft don’t really have a chassis, the closest would be the landing gear. However the general look of the model is from the airframe.

Was so fortunate to get the AI box before it was impossible to get hold of. I am still struggling a bit with the pricing, all the kits are a fraction above my impulse purchase price - especially those with only two in a box. For the bases, Troublemaker games have a new set of bases that are just hitting retail, they have done with with a widget to glue on so you can vary the base. On the glue, would recommend the Tamiya with the green top - with the brush you can capillary flow into cracks, something I never managed with the bottles with needles

I can see the "logic" in only putting one sprue of Storm Eagles in the box - for customers that don't understand/care about the per-sprue pricing, it's going to be very weird that Storm Eagles would be half the price of Fire Raptors, and there will be much snarling and gnashing of teeth. This is a historical anomaly because of the Aeronautica Imperialis starter sets and the fact that they happened to be able to fit the Storm Eagles on one sprue. If GW wanted to fix this, they'd spread out the Storm Eagles over two sprues, knowing them.

The drop pod models leave me conflicted, whilst beautiful to build I wish they had made them simpler and cheaper as they are really hard to justify - as with lots of the AI kits that proceeded them, the abundance of spare parts for alternative builds is ultimately what causes the cost. I would love to see a discounted bundle with enough pods of all sizes for a company sized deployment, I doubt that would ever happen though.

Great write up, would love to be a fly on the wall when the accountants are pricing these kits, I wonder if they even know it’s a war game or they’re just looking at nonsense names on a spreadsheet

I'm not so sure about points per pound as a metric, simply because it takes as given that a given model is adequately priced points wise. Like the Knights may be good PpP value but the consensus seems to be that they're quite overpriced points wise.

I'd love to see a Chaos Knights conversion, it's an idea I've been planning for quite some time but lacked the resources to do. If I had to recommend some additions: - Use Warpsmith tendrils for the weird tails some of them have - Chaos Terminator trophy racks mounted on the carapace (minus the helmets+skulls)

Honestly I prefer the horizontal look, vertical looks too tall and they’ll tip over like silly clown cars. But glad you got your thesis done!

I never liked the vertical orientation on the 28mm but it looks really good on the 8mm. Annoyingly I’ve just built and started painting mine in the horizontal orientation 🤦‍♂️

Dang I dint even think about that. "Face palm" oh well maybe my salamanders figured out the cool better horizontal lol
