Do you bring it indoors during winter ? When do you bring it indoors ?
What soil do you use for it?
Great, I'm using almost the same formula but with 6-12mm lava rock instead of the turface
Can I repot in summer
Did it work? Would love to see the results after the hard pruning. Do you now have a Mimosa Bonsai? I love this plant and have about 13 of them, all at different stages. I'm no gardener, but love tending to it.... noand now you've got me thinking that I could have a bonsai version
Hi thanks for the video...can you do an update on the progress of this tree please. Thank you.
I noticed you have cedars...I'm having a terrible time with my yamadori's...They are in a very good draining soil and i water them daily but they are slowing browning...How often do you water yours? Thanks...
How is you progressing on this tree?
I think that I would have been inclined to use a guy wire instead of wiring the branch. A small hole in the rim of the pot could be used to secure the wire.
I grown Natal plum bonsai's. You're doing fine. My opinion is however when you have a higher root you can use it to become a really cool looking leg. But seeing you're going cascade it wouldn't show for years. Nice job great video.
Nice color!
But what happened to the tree after this? I can't find any updates after this and I'm getting seriously worried here. After watching two videos of pruning and wiring I really feel invested in the little guy. Are you ok?
Why don't you let it grow a little bit?
Very nice, I use compost, cat litter and silica crystals 👍
May i sudgest for next time,.you pot it low after dusting rooting hormone on the upper trunk up to where you want to grow the root system. Go back after few weeks to a couple months and you can trim bottom off again giving you roots to suport it where you want it.
I love root over rock
wow! that was painful to watch. That poor little tree had a natural S shape, and you lopped off the wrong bit. A perfect tutorial on exactly what NOT to do. Thank you!
Hi. I’m brand new to bonsai and your channel. After doing lots of research I decided that my first tree would be the Fukien which actually hasn’t even arrived yet but while I’m waiting I thought I’d find all the videos I could so that I can see how people make their decisions for shaping, the actual pruning and wiring process etc. Out of all the ones I’ve watched so far yours is the only one that has all of that in one video, it’s the most comprehensive and educational as well as being entertaining. Thank you. Hopefully I will eventually develop these skills and be half as good as you are at making decisions. I’m off to watch the rest of your channel, thanks again.
مجموعة جميلة من نباتات البونساي ❤
do you have any videos that provide an update on this tree? would love to see how its grown in a year! i have one of these, and definitely related when you said “I’ve gotta start cutting or else i cant see anything”. this is great substitute for hinoki cypress.
I couldn’t stop staring that the guys hair. I wanted that to be trimmed as well
Excellent work
Beautiful
This is not sarcocaulis
I'd love to see an update on this!
Buy a lazy Susan at 99cent store, wire, stones, rocks etc. , tools like chopsticks scoops.
My Fukien don't grow berries. Are you doing something special, or is it a special type of Fukien? This tree is even more beautiful now. 🤔🙂
Hi xin , haven’t seen you online. Hope you’re doing well and your bonsai’s are growing.
Miss your updates. Trust all is well.
I just filled in my own 8' by 3' by 12+” deep raised bed. I put a layer of large/small old sticks and small/medium sized logs. This helped fill the box up a little at the start and the logs will break down and provide nutrients over time. I filled my box from a pile of leaves and small organic matter from my yard from the past 2-3 years. I am lucky to have the space here to do so. The compost looks rich and somewhat fluffy at the same time 👍 no trees in yet, I just wanted to share. Edit: This was all free for me! Reclaimed and scrap wood for the box and I even stole old sand from my child's sandbox to mix into the compost and soil. He'll get some nice new sand in the sandbox now :)
Sounds like you got a pretty sweet setup, you might as well start planting veggies in there since you don't have trees in it
@@MaybeBonsai maybe I need another box!
How are these tools holding up a year later Xin? Would you recommend for a beginners first set?
The tools are fine, I still use them now and have not had any issues. For beginners i think it is good!
In Australia we call these “sensitive weed” They grow everywhere in yards, very hard to kill
Hopefully all your trees have leaved out for you and the growing season will be good for you 😊
Que chulo👍👍👍
Hi, i am just starting my own maple Bonsai. I live in Canada, and i am wondering what do you do with your tree for winter?
I put them in my garage for overwintering, for maples you could leave them outside if you bury the pot or leave them outside until it gets to -15 or under then you can bring them into garage and take them out again when it gets a bit warmer
Bon voyage Xin n God bless you both on you travels 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. Bring a 🪕souvenir back !!
bon sai - pot tree
nothing is trimmed to look like a triangle is the 1st issue and the 2nd issue us keeping the plant growing over the pot to show grounding correctly.
the maples begin buding when it finishes sap above freezing temps for a few days which stops maple production all that had to be done is let the temp stay around 3 or 5 C
the trees are not leafing they are budding because they produce flowers pollen 1st in the land scape
pretty bad not knowing a sugar maple and a red maple when the country of orgin is Canada
good 14:31 into it
the wasp is a paper wasp prolly trying to clean up the garden fron all the pest eating the plants that are not pruned correctly. The wasp is look at the only leaf that it found dinner yesterday. All you had to do is cut out those large leaves and the leaves being eaten by the bug the wasp killed and it is telling you the tree needs the right attention or it will keep looking for dinner there.
would of been done in 2 mins by allowing young leaves on and renoving older leaves that the tree can not protect from bug attacks.
the main area to remove was large leaves and the bug bitten leaves the tree is not strong enough to fend off attacks when it grows out.
keep the tree growing above the pot and do not worry about direction because it wants to grow up if it can not seed
cut all the large leaves they are taking all the nutrients to growing out the limbs but keeping only small leaves give control for a triangle.
keep the tree growing above the pot and let it grow with small leaves because it is trying to sprout with all the nutrients left in the pot to seed.
I think you might have a Norway maple there. Norways have a dinner plate leaf with 5 lobes and whispy points. Sugars have 3 lobes. The only way I am ever sure is when they seed. The tree looks great, I hope it grows well for you and your descendants.
Thanks, so many maples here, hard for me to tell what's what lol
Zin Can you tell me when (time of year ) you actually repotted this tree. I have one from Ray S , which is double potted too. Thanks
Repot this one the same as mot trees, early spring is best
