That's opened the tree up a lot Xin. Nice work as these trees are prone to getting brown foliage due to lack of light on inner foliage. I actually call these trees 'Shammy Cypress' for ease of pronunciation and it is close to a false cypress. 👍👍
Thanks Guy, the full name was super long and I had no idea how to pronounce the first word hahaha I put it in the description though, at least that’s the name that came with the nursery container lol
Thanks for all the updates, awesome to see the colours on the trees 🙃 And the greenery in November? They must love being in the soil in a fenced yard... Hope your false cypruss does well, i had bad luck when i bought them... Very nice cuts and reasoning on what and why.. Keeping my fingers crossed 💚💚 Edit: not my lack of confidence on you, you do a great job, but these false cyprusses are fiddly things
The full name is in the description, I got it from the nursery container that it came with. I don’t know the short name. I wish I did because the first word in the name is impossible to pronounce lol
Wow a major restructure for the tree! It looks like summer in your backyard, nice work Xin!
Yes it hasn’t gotten that cold yet but by next weekend we will be in the minus haha. Thanks Nigel 👍🙏
Cup of tea to relax with a relaxing video.
Thanks Tom 👍
The end result is quite lovely. It'll look even better when it gets a nice pot.
Thanks Patrick, the wiring really changed its look! 🙏👍
I see you bought an endless summer hydrangea. Cool plant. I have one growing in my micro climate and one close to the coffin pond.
I only got hydrangea and it is part of the side garden right now 🙏

That’s got some nice structure now. Good job. Set up nicely for the spring. Thanks, keep growing
I sincerely hope it does not die lol
One cool sawara f. c. That should turn out to be a really cool tree for you. I like the trunk on this little one.
Thanks Tom, I hope the tree doesn’t die on me lol
This tree looks really nice, it has nice branches 👍
Thanks Gerardo, I thought the branches were kind of square. Looks like a cross from the top haha
Those pond pots sure make good root pruning pots
Honestly, I have never seen roots grow out of the pot and get air pruned haha
Your false cypress is looking pretty real Xin! :)
Not false anymore right? lol
@@MaybeBonsai:)
Trees are looking good.
Thanks Tom, the wiring really transformed it 👍
Wow! The leaves on that sawara are amazing! I haven’t seen on like that around here (central pa)
Thanks, I got this from a local nursery. I would think it should readily available in other places. It was in the “bonsai” section of the nursery

Thanks Aija, I hope it survives too. It will get garage protection in the winter so should be good but who knows lol 👍🙏
Don’t forget to hit the like button
Thanks Tom 👍
On or off camera, wiring looks good.
Thanka Tom, I think I am improving my wiring skills lol
Could the variety be Tsukumo ? Or maybe “mini moss” minira?

@@MaybeBonsai yea, “kami spiraris” means false cypress. But the named variety, might be tsukumo.
@@thelazybonsai certainly looks like it 👍
Foist!
Awesome Jay! 👍
