Nice update Xin, everything looks fine, especially the variegated Ficus.I have a Winter flowering jasmine in the garden that’s never happier than when it’s flowering hung with icicles from the gutter overflow! Wishing you and yours a healthy and happy New Year. God bless you 🙏✝️ ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️ 🎸!
@@MaybeBonsai can you crack the garage door to let more cool air in? Or put some ice cubes on top of the soil, let the melting ice keep the roots cool?
@@baldyeti I want to avoid opening the door because mice might get in. It’s not too bad and it seems it will get cooler faster than initially forecasted so I am pretty sure I am good 👍
I just came across your channel.. I have a Brazilian rain tree (indoors) but put outside in the spring. I have a problem with it and was hoping to get your input. Does the BRT leafs stay closed during the winter months? Mine leaves have been closed the whole time I've had it indoors.
It should stay open if: there is enough light, there isn’t too much light, it is not recovering from a repot/root pruning Usually indoors you may not get enough sunlight depending on where it is. Let me know if this helped or your indoor setup so we can diagnose the issue better 👍
I am sure your garage experiment will work out just fine. My garage is south facing so it stays above 0 all year round. If yours is not, it may go into the negatives but if you have hardy trees in there then it would not matter.
deleted my comment after rethinking my initial reply. could be some weird variety of it with the larger leaves. lot of inaccurate labels on sarcocaulis and hard to get info. i have a white flower variety myself (supposedly. haven't been through a flowering season yet)
@@MaybeBonsai nah, completely different variety. If you look up crassula sarcocaulis, you'll see a lot more with foliage closer to something like crassula tetragona, but smaller
initially I thought this was a tetragona then someone said this may be a sarcocaulis so I googled it and my tree looks exactly like the ones shown on google so I changed the name to sarcocaulis.
Nice to see the updates, just 3 more months of winter!! Happy New Year!!
Yep, only 3 month to go lol
maybe it will be warmer this year!
@TheBonsaiZone, I have to start getting ready for repotting season as it is only 3 months away.
@@Derrick8WLee Yes, before we know it, spring will be here!!

Thanks Gaye, yes the winter jasmine is a delight this time of the year! May 2023 bring good luck and fortune 👍🙏
Cool updates Xin. Yup. Squirrels, the Day Time Marauders really play havoc on the potted trees. Looking to bury their nuts for eating later.
Yep, stay warm Tom, cold is coming soon 👍
Happy New Year Xin! Thanks for the updates! (Little thuja is called ‘Primo’) 👍🐦💙
Thanks Jay, oh Primo, right the name escaped me. This long break has messed with my head, nothing is working up there lol
@@MaybeBonsai Now you know why I do voiceovers… I never remember anything if it do it ‘live’! 🤣😂🐦💙
@@BlueJayBonsai yea good idea on that lol

Thanks Ingrida, hope the new year will bring you awesomeness!
Very cool update, brother. Everything looks tucked in for their long winter nap.
Thanks Billy, hope nothing wakes up during this warm spill

Patience on the cuttings. Sometimes they take a bit longer to let you know how they are doing.
Yep, hopefully they take. I will just keep watering in the mean time

Happy New Year Xin… This year I’m experimenting with about 6 trees in my unheated garage. The rest are tucked in outside. Yours are all looking happy.

Oh the large leaves are due to my bad indoor lighting, the leaves are half or less the size when I take the trees outside 👍🙏
